  1. Neufeld at Safety. Didn't see that coming. We need a BIG hitter back at safety, Neufeld should be big enough
  2. I was thinking thye reffing in the NFL is much more protective ... flags on anything close and not much discretion that the CFL officials seem to take ... that might be a lack of league instruction to the crews
  3. Could Dave Semenko play fullback for us?
  4. Are these Tears or a QB rating service?
  5. McCullum new QB in Regina?
  6. To me Hurl looked lost .... continously in the wrong place
  7. "and Demetrius Wright back there was terrible" ... I am glad management seems a little more proactive in getting rid of duds and mistakes of the past
  8. Were there any late June cuts from around the league that could play HB for us?
  9. Does the NFL do anything we don't to lower the injury rate on their QB's Do our rules go far enough?
  10. Not even close..what a terrible comparison I think the comparison predictive .... MOS might be cross eyed over Hurl .... Thursdasy will be revealing for Hurl's skill level
  11. Looks like they upgraded him to the 1-game IR instead of 6-game IR. So he can start practicing?
  12. Legget at safety good news; so is Richards albeit as backup to Bastien No Neufeld on the depth chart 2 import backup DL, no backup import LB who will be the DI's? Not much change to a D that gave up 500 yards last week, just reinstalling the starting safery
  13. so IF Legget is not back & Wright is gone, who plays safety: LJ Shell, Randle into the back 5, another Canuck at S or, or, or, or ??? And if Randle & Hurl move out of the LB core, what does it look like? Waiting to see the new depth chart are we ... aren't we glad we are not Coach? Day-to-day you say on Legget? D is anything but decided.... not anywhere near ready to begin gelling
  14. Obviously have to make some D changes: Leggett - wonderful ... a third of the problems solved Hurl - is he hurt? Briggs won't be enough of a solution for the LB problem Randle - move him back to corner or make some "adjustments" Blitzing - duh The offence can stand pat
  15. Thanks for starting a cfl discussion thread ... other one was way too long
  16. I just wish Miller, Walters & MOS were a little more forthcoming, straight forward & honest .... like with Yantz they promised a real opportunity to make the club but never gave him a legit chance to strut his stuff... I don't understand their motivation in such dealings .... to offer him the OC position with the Rifles just hours after cutting him had every appearance of bait & switch ... such dealings could turn a fine Canadian like Yantz off football forever ... even to something like playing in the Arena league for a year or two to spruce up his game .... Honesty is a crucial part of building camaraderie and team spirit
  17. You mean corner?... but yes I agree, I think he may stay there til one of the new guys is ready... I think Burnett will be a good candidate No I meant safety ... we need someone with half a brain back there ... last game was awful and I can't think of who else would be an upgrase ,,,, Lin J Shell?
  18. Who makes this stuff up & on what criteria? What does last year''s ratings have anything to do with this year's?
  19. "Get that guy back at halfback ASAP. " or even safety till Leggett gets back
  20. MOS was one of the greatest Canadian LB's of recent times. Do you think he is trying to recreate a clone of himself ? I am very disappointed that our former LB specialist has such poor LB talent surrounding him ... what is wrong with his perceptual skills / mindset, if anything?
  21. Starting both Hurl & Waggoner: WE HAVE GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS The good news is that we are starting 10 Cabadians .... The bad news is that we are starting 10 Cabadians
  22. Coaches are goi\ng to do what coaches do and never consider fan sentiment. Yikes they are missing so much MBB fan wisdom. But just for the record, (because it certainly matters) what are your 3 starting linebackers for the season opener?
  23. It is possible that their plan @ #4 has been Jordan Yantz all along and that the battle for a QB position has been between Marve and Portis. Keeping a qb you're not giving reps to? That just seems a dumb idea when trying to develop a player. But that's just the point. If you've decided to make him your 4th QB already, then you have to make a decision on the other 2 QBs..which one to keep.. How? By splitting their reps and seeing how they do. Yantz gets his work in practice and his development, as a CFL-ready QB, may not be as far behind as some think. Is it a dumb idea, or forward thinking? It's a theory. I just don't see it as a good idea at all. There is no benefit to a canadian qb so why decide on a guy who is likely behind the others in terms of development anyway and not give him reps? What if it turns out he's a terrible qb at this level? Wouldn't it be better to figure that out now than in the event they ever get that far down the depth chart? If they made that decision it's a bad decision. Yantz because has a strong accurate arm & good football smarts ... could develop into a Russ Jackson
  24. How about some success stories? Bud Grant Mike Riley Cal Murphy
