Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Haha Gary Lawless is a *****. I actually agree with Lawless here for once. -
I suspect GMs often tell a player that if they want to be traded, have a great season and up your trade value and then we'll consider it. Otherwise the team is just selling low.

Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's not how I read the article. I think its clear Lawless wants Etch gone, but he's on the fence on whether O'Shea will pull the trigger or whether loyalty will get in the way. -
I did some quick math and the average attendance at IGF this season was 28,314 per game. Not sure what the budget projected but this isn't too bad, considering the type of season we had. Obviously this was helped out a lot by the two Rider home games which were both sellouts.

Alexander is still here too.I know, he was put to the suspended list last week. I'm not really sure about him though, i'm not sure if he is just battle lot of injuries this year or his game have regressed and got push down on the depth chart by derek jones. He isn't listed as suspended anymore. As for injuries or Jones keeping him off the field, I would guess both. Some of the times he was on the IR wasn't for injuries.this from cfl. transaction pageOctober 31 Roster ... WPG TRF TO SUSPENDED NIP Donovan ALEXANDER (DB) North Dakota Btw, here's the latest transaction for the Bombers November 2 NON-ACTIVE 2-Nov-14 WPG REM UNS IMP Daivon DUMAS (DB) Northern Arizona WPG REM UNS IMP Jarvis JONES (OL) Oklahoma WPG REM UNS IMP Abraham KROMAH (LB) Duke WPG REM UNS IMP Marty MARKETT (DB) South Carolina WPG REM UNS NIP Ezra MILLINGTON (WR) Ottawa WPG REM UNS NIP Kyle NORRIS (LB) Saint Mary's WPG REM UNS NIP Shea PIERRE (DB) Windsor WPG REM UNS NIP Rene STEPHAN (LB) Harding WPG REM UNS IMP Aaron WOODS (WR) Portland State He was listed on the roster, not the suspended list, when I looked. And the roster list is up to date? The transaction is updated almost daily.Bombers have done a poor job of keeping the roster up to date on their website the second half of the season.Didnt alexander retire this year at the end anyway? Yes he did. A big loss.

Yep that's exactly what happened according to Penton.

@PentonKirk: @BobIrvingCJOB reported tonight that #Bombers RB Paris Cotton is also a potential free agent, which would bring their total to 17.

2015 season ticket and Grey Cup ticket pricing info
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I will disagree on the marketing ploy that happens everywhere bit. No other team in the CFL has ever asked for a three year commitment from their fans to give them the discount. The average price for a ticket will be the highest ever in history by the looks of things. Don't think that's necessary when the Bombers have 1000 club seats going for who knows how much, 46 suites and 30 or so loges - three big moneymakers that are in short supply or simply do not exist in places like Edmonton, Calgary and Regina. I hope the game sells out before the season begins, but I'm skeptical at those prices. Maybe the Bombers believe it will due to stronger than usual corporate support? Let me clarify. I don't necessarily mean that other CFL teams do this. I mean that artificially inflated pricing to compensate for discounting in general happens all the time. Especially in retail. The ever so popular BOGO deals you see everywhere is a clear example of this. What's BOGO? -
And hopefully happy endings...with a TD that is

2015 season ticket and Grey Cup ticket pricing info
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's far from a penalty. It's an inflated price that anyone would pay, season ticket holder or not. I very much disagree. -
Penton says 3, but Stoudermire wasn't on any free agent lists, so I wonder if it's really a 2 year extension, if he was already under contract for next season. It's all semantics, but it'll essentially be them tearing up the existing contract he had for next year, rewriting it and adding 2 years. More money next year in return for an extra two years of commitment by the player. That sounds about right.

Wow 3 years! @PentonKirk: The #Bombers have signed kick returner Troy Stoudermire to a three-year contract.

The $100 "discount" is an insult to fans intelligence. It's a $100 penalty for not commiting for 3 years. -

@Darren_Cameron: #Bombers to announce a player extension right away on bluebombers.com.

Perhaps some people can't afford it. People do have lives beyond football. What's this life beyond football you speak of? -
Defense got worse as the season went on because the rest of the league figured out Etch's schemes.

We win 2 of 3 vs the Riders with another competent DC. A few other games that I can't remember now where we couldn't close the win because we couldn't stop the run. No, that's not right. We could not turn off the turnover machine in one game, and the offence, when given the chance, twice, could not get it done. The defence was not the problem in that series. Yup. there was a lot going wrong in that series... Defense wasn't the worst of em by far.. Agreed lots going on, but bottom line is if D makes a stop in last ~2 minutes we win two of those Rider games.
