Never underestimate the importance of a Jake Thomas type player for our BB on and off the field .

Pulled from the Official CFL website today: The so-called “force out rule” is eliminated: a receiver catching a ball has to place at least one foot inbounds regardless of whether he was contacted in mid-air. This will change how D play the perimeter (a bit). Advantage D. What do Offense fans think of eliminating this force out rule?

This current Administration seems dead set on reversing everything the previous administration passed even when it makes absolutely no sense and has no facts to support it's reversal. Bizarre.

Round 3 : Game 5 - Leaving Las Vegas
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
The refs in this series made it about them, breaking the momentum of the game by calling inconsistent calls or non calls on both teams. Threw the players off in how they could play and how the coaches could roll their lines. Imo this hurt the Jets more than the Knights because our whole game is flow, neutral ice attack, physical play. Running four lines became impossible. Add in to this losing recipe sans first game we were losing most of the battles down low and Fleury's old school athletic type goaltending. Top 4 baby, next year Top 1. ps sign Paul Stastny to a two year contract, promise him a Cup next year. -

Makes sense. Nothing to lose. Might as well change it up and hope for the best. -
O'Shea type of player, motors always running. Curious to know why just one year. Courting period or does he want to try his hand still with the NFL?

We will get our home mojo back. Two out of the next three games our in our barn. We will steal that last road game, come home and take the series in seven. -
Round 3 : Game 4 - The Hangover
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Because a lot of us on this board have been waiting many hard difficult years to enjoy this, we don't make the distinction between 1.0 and 2.0. They are our Jets. They represent our city, our province so expect some heat if your going to say Im not a Jets fan and cheer for a expansion team while being a Bomber fan for 40 years. Bizarre. -

Bomber fan but not a Jet fan? One comes with the other, it's a package deal. -

If he did, that's on Laine not Tanev. And yes having Ehlers back would be ideal. -

I'm not suggesting Tanev belongs on the second line but Tanev has 6 points (31 shots) to 7 points to those three combined thus far in these playoffs. What have those three shown in these playoffs that warrants second line play? Did Tanev impede Laine's play last night? I didn't see it. -

Tanev almost scored on a great individual play. Regardless of the line he plays on, at least he puts it all out there on every shift. -

No reason Helle had to guess. Just needed to stand his ground. Made up for it on that glove save. Someone needs to light a fire under Laine. Two minutes for diving please. -
Is it though? In a sane logical world maybe yes, but nowadays, seems just another Wednesday.

Round 3 : Game 3 - Waking Up In Vegas
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
What would be a refreshing thing to see is if the pee knights do score the first and maybe even the second goal of the game, we come back with a flurry of goals by overwhelming their 'hey lets clog the nuetral zone, we're up by one/two'. Enough with this 'we've scored the first goal, batten down the hatches, form a wall and look for a lucky break on a counter'. Lets break that cycle of crappy boring hockey. Lets find a formula that dismisses that strategy. -
Shotgun formation is pop warner football said no coach ever (except Mike Kelly of course).

It would help if they made a CFL video game. Okay I'll stop.

Round 3 - Game 2: Golden Knights at Jets

I keep on telling myself, as per Wheeler, we aren't going to win every game. Paul Maurice's move for game three. -
I like the fact that you are a supportive grandfather. I'm sure your grandson appreciates it. Welcome to the best organization in the CFL :-)

Lets just win the Grey Cup this year and 'dedicate' it to DD.

For the most part (sans reference to the leafs) I actually enjoy their analysis of the game, especially Kelly Hrudey. He knows the game well regardless of era. -

Gameplan: Quarantine Tuch and Marchessault, park Stastny and Lowry in front of Fleury, have Buff do his thing, more breathing room for Connor to play his game; Laine and Shief find their sweet spot on the ice, Helle positioning picture perfect = we win. Easy smeezy.
