  1. Training camps open in early May. Pre-season starts May 23. Regular season starts June 10. That information has been out since December. Of course I know that is not what you mean, but that is the information and as of now it is current. League has been up front about it being dictated by health regulations and subject to change, but so far they have not changed that target, despite the rumour mongering from the media and the impatience on the message boards. So just accept those dates as gospel for now, and if/when Health Canada declares the red alert lockdowns extending into June you, I, Randy Ambrosie, and everyone else will find out together. My season tickets have been renewed as of March 15 by the club (at least they took the money off my credit card) so I am sure they won’t forget to tell me if there is an alteration.
  2. Who’s stopping you? You have gone on about the merger rumours as much of not not than anyone here. Take a break from this thread and jump to the other ones.
  3. The “right” mind loves living there, it’s the “left” mind that sees the insanity.
  4. Well, well, well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions...... https://apnews.com/article/some-capitol-riot-suspects-apologize-3bbabae61323f77b0af3102497c0ede9 If I was the Judge and some kid wrote “lesson received” i’d shoot back with “No, I will decide what lesson you receive”.
  5. The mystery is not what happened. The mystery is why. The story is much more than “plane went down, they are all dead, the end”.
  6. To my understanding, players negotiated the one-year contract into the last CBA. It replaced the NFL release window they had and allowed the owners to keep the “non-guaranteed contracts” which they really wanted. Given the choice between not locking in players long term and having to pay overpriced vets for an entire year instead of cutting them loose before Labour Day and getting to walk away from a bad contract scot-free, owners chose to keep the money-saving option.
  7. In answer to your question - Exhibit A:
  8. Barring a Sabres-like collapse, the Jets will finish their 12 game split road trip at 7-4-1. Last Monday their “magic number” (points needed in remaining games to clinch a playoff spot) was 43. After tonight it will be 27. Watching Gaudreau try to go around Logan Stanley, and all I can think is “this looks like take your kid to work day”
  9. Ok thanks. Only heard Beyak say Thompson lost his stick, did not see what happened.
  10. F*ck yeah!!!!!!!!! Great passing. Copp makes it 4-1.
  11. If Stone doesn’t spin after that hit and end up head first into the boards, that penalty does not get called. Shoulder hit, and I guess you could call it a cross check, but that shouldn’t be boarding. And Giordano shooting Thompson’s stick out of the zone seems like something that should be a penalty if the stick was not broken.
  12. No goal as Lucic slew foots Bucky’s stick. And more whining. The “punchable face” debate between him and Tkachuk steps up as they are both petulant tonight. But in the vote for ugliest player in the NHL, Lucic wins......by a nose.
  13. Oh don’t apologize. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that viewpoint.
  14. Don’t think it would be screwing us. Calgary fans would say total kick because he extends and lifts his leg. Can’t say I would disagree with them but I don’t know the minutiae of the rule as well as Sawyer explained it. Whatever, I will happily take it. And another one! Scheifele rag dolls Tkachuk and gets a great pass form Connor. Sweet all around.
  15. Another stupid 3 point game between Edmonton and Toronto tonight. Beyak’s new favourite catch phrase is “finds pipe” for shots off the goal post. Sounds like the tag line for a porno.
  16. I get your point, just hard to accept that Trump has that kind of power. Fauci is still plugging along. And his followers are just plain crazy. Lots of noise but I don’t see physical threats coming from him.
  17. But unlike a real mob boss who could have you killed for crossing him, what real life-altering threat would Trump be to a non-political person who is not in line to get re-elected? Birx could have spoken out, and it’s not like she would never get a medical job again. The way to combat loud bullies like Trump is to stand up to them, because their phone power display masks insecurity and weakness at its heart.
  18. Would be curious to know how much more they would have projected to have lost had they played the season with no fans like many wanted them to.
  19. Just add her to the list of Bolton, Scaramucci, Cohen, Sondland, Mattis, Tillerson, Kelly, Sessions, Comey, etc. who happily stayed quiet and did the President’s bidding or at least muted their criticism until after they got fired, and then only spoke out when it was too late to generate any meaningful change, and was usually only an attempt at self-promotion or rehabilitation rather than for the good of the country. Not sure what dangerous power Trump held over them to keep their silence and buy their complicity? Even Vindman only suffered a non-promotion, and Trump’s bullying was so transparent that it’s hard to imagine Vindman’s reputation would be so sullied by an attack from Trump that it would make him a pariah to the rest of the thinking world. There is nothing redemptive about this 24th hour atonement.
  20. Brossoit adds a goal to his assist as he puts one in his own net. Makes that 3rd goal look pretty.
