Why or why would you rush only 3 and let Burris pick you apart late in the fourth, that was brutal.
That was one of the strangest calls in a series of strange call this year and last. Ottawa was killing the Bombers with their running and with lightweights on the D-line, Ottawa burned up the clock and got first downs at will in that last drive.

Wow - Nichols is starting to look like he did here in Edmonton - which is why he's a bomber for a 7th round pick.
When he gets time he's okay, when things break down though, he becomes a liability. The frustration on his face at the lack of protection speaks volumes as to how bad the oline is. Bryant Turner probably had his worst day as a pro today, seriously January could have performed as well this season as he did.
Nichols sacked 6 times today and a couple-three of those were bone-rattlers. That has to affect Nichols' enthusiasm.

This game against a middling team showed the whole Bomber team for what it is- not good enough in any area. The defence was handled for the most part and couldn't stop Ottawa when it counted and whoever decided to put lightweights in the middle should be given a good thrashing. Its not a tuneup for next year, its another (sigh) overhaul.

Berry may not have been on his players' Christmas card lists, but he was the last winning coach we had, and he didn't have an All-star quarterback, either. This has come up here before, but there are a lot of winning coaches in many sports who were not beloved by their players- Tom Landry, and Scotty Bowman to name a couple. And we've had a couple of coaches who were well-liked by their players but disasters on the scoreboard. Why do people still insist firing Berry was a mistake. He had lost the room. This was well known at the time. When that happens the only option is to fire the coach.
Teams don't need an out-of-control coach raging on the sidelines losing all common sense at key points in the game ie) see Berry pulling out challenge flag to challenge a challenge lol.
There is a reason he is no longer working in the league folks and was never hired to be a head coach again.
Kevin Glenn was a finalist for MOP and Eastern All-Star in 2007. Berry was the last winning head coach but his record here was 1 game over .500
No one has ever accused Glenn of being an all-star, and one game over .500 would look pretty good these days.

what was that people were saying about Glenn?
Glenn is doing as well as I expected him to. His style- quick looks and quick tosses interspersed with runs and the occasional long bomb to keep the DBs honest is very similar to Calvillo's. He is a stopgap for a year, maybe two while they groom Cato who looks to have the tools, not the experience as yet.

At this point in the season, no team looks unbeatable, although Toronto, Edmonton, Hamilton and Calgary are the cream. Ottawa continues to surprise, winning with smoke and mirrors, and then.....there's the dregs: BC, Montreal, the Riders and us, alas. Its going to be a week or two with a lot of upsets.
Why do you consistently rank us behind the riders when evidence shows contrary to that belief?
The bottom-feeders were not ranked. BTW, you are in error when you say I continually rank the Bombers lower than the Riders, although the past ten years' performance would support that the Bombers have been demonstrably worse. When the Riders flub, its good for a chuckle or two, but I care enough about the Big Blue to give a damn.

If the Bombers do happen to back into the playoffs i don't think management or coaching staff would be so foolish enough to think that they have a good team.......or would they.
I suggest you look back at the decisions made by this regime over the past two years and it may give you the answer to your question.

Supporting your beloved team does not automatically mean you applaud bonehead performances by the players, inept coaching or bad decisions by the GM or scouting staff. To me it means calling a spade a spade and continuing to follow and look for the best for the team. If fans do not demand better, we will continue to get what we've been getting since we were spoiled by Cal Murphy and Mike Reilly. Maybe Doug Berry would have fallen into that category as well, but Bauer thought better of it.

Free tickets to Saturdays game. Funny and mostly true.
This is a hoot, and well worth the read.

Just finished watching the highlight reel. He obviously has the physical tools- good arm and mobility when he has to run, but his setup mechanics to throw are not good. We've had a number of promising pivots come here who were too lazy and/or arrogant to learn their craft. Aaah- maybe this one will be different.

This mess has to be placed at O'Shea's feet. He chose his own set of assistants and so far the offensive, defensive, special teams and O-line coaches has been exposed as bad choices. O'Shea is probably a good guy and loves his dog and may be beloved by his players, but the results are just not there. You can call for continuity, as a good thing, but continuity means more of the same, and this is not close to being satisfactory. No rookie head coach has ever survived this sort of horrible first two years, and for good reason.
