Six Michigan Police Personnel on Leave After Woman’s Mysterious Death in Custody Six public safety personnel at the Harper Woods Police Department have been placed on leave after a Michigan woman died after falling ill in police custody. Priscilla Slater was arrested on an unspecified drug charge on June 9 while police were responding to reports of shots being fired at a Harper Woods hotel. Slater died the next morning, but police have not said how she perished or for what she was arrested. An attorney for Slater’s family, Geoffrey Fieger, argued that the charges do not matter, only what caused Slater to die in police custody. “She had to be exhibiting (symptoms) that would have required immediate medical care, and she didn’t get it,” Fieger said. Autopsy results have not yet been made available. https://www.thedailybeast.com/six-michigan-police-personnel-on-leave-after-womans-mysterious-death-in-custody

Iowa Football Coach Accused of Racism Gets $1.1M Buyout University of Iowa A University of Iowa football coach accused of racist behavior is getting a $1.1 million buyout. Chris Doyle, a Hawkeyes strength coach, was placed on leave June 6 amid allegations he disparaged and bullied Black players, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reported. On Monday, the school reached an agreement with Doyle to step down in exchange for two payments of $556,249.50. Doyle, who was with the Hawkeyes for 21 years, took to Twitter last week to defend himself, writing that “at no time have I ever crossed the line of unethical behavior or bias based on race. I do not make racists [sic] comments and I don’t tolerate people that do.” https://www.thedailybeast.com/university-of-iowa-football-strength-coach-chris-doyle-gets-dollar11m-buyout-after-being-accused-of-racism?ref=home

Investigative journalist Greg Palast: Here's how Trump will steal the 2020 election Palast's new book, "How Trump Stole 2020," outlines a nightmare: Trump loses the electoral vote and wins anyway Palast warns that Joe Biden's chances against Donald Trump are worse than the polls suggest because millions of Democrats will have their votes thrown out on Election Day. Moreover, many of those voters will have no idea that their votes were purged and therefore not counted. Palast explains how the Republican Party has refined its strategy of voter suppression, voter intimidation and vote theft in elections across the country. Palast also highlights how the planned chaos during the recent Georgia Democratic primaries is a preview of how the Republican Party intends to steal the 2020 presidential election for Donald Trump. Finally, Palast issues an ominous warning: Trump and the Republicans, he believes, are plotting to use the 12th Amendment to the Constitution to declare the popular vote and Electoral College results invalid, so that the 2020 presidential election will be decided in the House of Representatives — which, believe it or not, may well vote in Trump's favor. https://www.salon.com/2020/06/15/investigative-journalist-greg-palast-heres-how-trump-will-steal-the-2020-election/

I would say that Cruz sold his soul, but there is no evidence that he ever had one.

Nunes is a dead end all by himself.

This is the American way- if it doesn't directly affect me, it is not worth considering, so screw you.

Trump attorney spirals out in unhinged CNN rant claiming Trump is winning except in ‘junk science’ polls Jenna Ellis, an attorney for President Donald Trump’s campaign, on Sunday defended a lawsuit threat against CNN which seeks to suppress a poll showing the president losing to presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. “No pollster in the world would stand behind this as a legitimate poll, according to industry standards,” Ellis told CNN’s Brian Stelter. “So why would CNN? Why?” “What industry standards?” Stelter asked. “This poll is in line with other network polls. Pretty much every poll shows Trump losing to Biden.” “That’s not true,” Ellis insisted. “You polled adults, not registered voters, not likely voters, but just adults.” Stelter explained that the network used a “normal polling procedure.” https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/trump-attorney-spirals-out-in-unhinged-cnn-rant-claiming-trump-is-winning-except-in-junk-science-polls/ (Apparently when Trump hears that he is losing badly in the polls, he launches into a rage, so his minions are feeding him all kinds of soothing lies, sooner or later he will wake up, and then all the crap will hit the fan)

Sad, but not unexpected as testing has not slowed.

Sad......and scary that so many people have to get sick and die to please someone's ego and agenda. Don't think we have seen the worst of the pandemic yet, as India and Pakistan, as well as south and central America are just at the leading edge of the pandemic.

Come now. You are doubting the Trump government? After all, they took several days to examine the evidence, so they cannot possibly be wrong, and I am sure they were drenched in sweat from the effort to determine the truth.

Secret Service: Actually, Yes, We Did Use Pepper Spray When Clearing Protesters From D.C. Park Multiple federal agencies swore for weeks that they didn’t use any chemical irritants to clear peaceful protesters from a D.C. park on June 1 so President Trump could have a photo op. Now, the Secret Service says it actually did. “After further review, the U.S. Secret Service has determined that an agency employee used pepper spray... in response to an assaultive individual,” the agency said Saturday in a statement. https://www.thedailybeast.com/secret-service-says-they-did-actually-use-pepper-spray-when-clearing-protesters-in-lafayette-park-dc

Philly Protests: Christopher Columbus Statue Lovers Beat Unicorn Riot Reporter After Police Order Him To Leave Bastiaan Slabbers/Reuters Philadelphia Police threatened a reporter with the left-wing non-profit news organization Unicorn Riot as he covered far right armed vigilantes protecting a Christopher Columbus station in South Philadelphia Saturday. The organization says its reporter Chris Schiano was told by Philadelphia Police Captain Louis Campione to leave the scene because he was “inciting a riot.” Several of the men then assaulted the reporter and slashed his bicycle tires. The news organization then tweeted a video of the disturbing scene.

Trump also sort of staggered down the ramp following his diatribe. That plus his difficulty drinking water with one hand, leads me to wonder if he is medicated before each public performance.

Atlanta Police Fatally Shoot Black Man After Report He Was Asleep In His Car Police shot and killed Rayshard Brooks, 27, after they say he resisted arrest. Atlanta police, responding to a call about someone sleeping in a car, shot and killed a Black man at a Wendy’s restaurant Friday. Police said that Rayshard Brooks, 27, resisted arrest following a failed sobriety test. But video posted to social media shows Brooks running away from police before he is shot off-screen. Police were called to the Wendy’s restaurant Friday night after receiving a report that a man was sleeping in his car, which was parked in the drive-thru. Two officers found Brooks in the vehicle and gave him a field sobriety test, which they said he failed. While attempting to arrest Brooks, police said he resisted. https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/atlanta-police-fatally-shoot-black-man-during-sobriety-test_n_5ee4ea70c5b6afc1283183e7

London Mayor: Stay Away Because Far-Right Mobs Are Coming London Mayor Sadiq Khan is warning people to stay away from the center of the city because far-right groups are expected to converge there, raising the potential for violent clashes with anti-racism protesters. “We have intelligence that extreme far right groups are coming to London ostensibly, they say, to protect the statues, but we think the statues may be a flashpoint for violence,” Khan said on Saturday morning. A statue of Winston Churchill that was spray-painted last week was boarded up in anticipation of this weekend’s demonstrations. Read it at Reuters

2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.
Tracker replied to Wanna-B-Fanboy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He has the size, fights for the ball and has breakaway speed if the clips mean anything. What the heck, if the Bombers have been watching him for 4 years he's gotta be worth a look. -
Trump to accept GOP nomination in Jacksonville on anniversary of KKK's "Ax Handle Saturday" attack “We look forward to bringing this great celebration and economic boon to the Sunshine State," the RNC chair says President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he will accept the Republican Party's nomination this August in Florida. His address to the nation will happen in Jacksonville on the 60th anniversary of a Ku Klux Klan attack in the city known as "Ax Handle Saturday." On Aug. 27, 1960, a KKK-led mob of hundreds of white people attacked black civil rights protesters holding sit-ins at whites-only lunch counters in the city, chasing them through the streets and beating them with bats and ax handles stashed in Hemming Park. At the time, the city's mayor — Haydon Burns, a white man — suppressed the story, and the attack was not commemorated until 2001, when a marker was laid in the park. The New York Times characterized it as "one of the darkest days in the city's history. https://www.salon.com/2020/06/12/trump-to-accept-gop-nomination-in-jacksonville-on-anniversary-of-kkks-ax-handle-saturday-attack/ (I'm sure its just another innocent coincidence)

I would bet that Putin has incriminating stuff on Trump- like the fabled "pee-tape" and probably a lot worse. Trump has been bending over backwards to please Putin, and that has to be more than worshipping a dictator that he would love to emulate.
