well hopefully him and Reilly...and Harris for that matter have a bunch of teams competing to try and land them and drive up their value...be nothing better than having 3 teams slitting their SMS throats by paying 600 to 700k for a QB...and thats just the starter where we are most likely paying maybe 625k or so for all 3 of ours. that will be like a quarter of million bucks available to sign other areas of needs that they wont have compared to teams set at that spot right now...should be interesting

YEAH I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut loose prior to free-agency, or just after the feeding frenzy...he totally disappeared after labour day...plus they are already wayyy over paying Evans (170K LAST YEAR) and are going to need to sign a QB..and want Jefferson back...so thats a salary that could be shed

When you have a defence full of them though...him..Hughes..Edam..Purifoy..Gainey...well the overall result when it matters is inevitable..and was seen. Most of the guys on the Ssk defense were more concerned with their personal stats/acco;ades than the success of the unit as a whole it seems...now isolating one guy on a "team" well thats a different story

I agree...that team was all about the individual...and wonder how he would fit in..that being said..we have a strong locker room and headcoach...so I think that alone would allow him to fall in line..I bet in that situation he would be even better I don't think money is an issue with us right now...we shed a lot, and also unlike most teams don't have the unknown floating around on what we need to keep for a starting QB..There are 4 teams alone right now that don't have that position and SMS hit confirmed at the moment...whereas we do and can make best offers at whomever we target

I think he is a really good DC...Average at best HC...and a horrible GM....not sure about the President of Operations part, but based on all the stuff they got caight doing the first 2 years, and the place they are in now...I'd say he was bad at that too. Rebuild for sure, and if they don't land a Reilly..BLM...or even a Harris they are royaly screwed. Franklin...Jennings..Glenn??...just won't get it done there, especially with their best reciever gone, no slam dunk Roosevalt signs there and zero Canadian depth on offence. Aging Hughes on defense who dissappeared last 3rd of season, losing Evougan..possibly Jefferson, and still need to address their o-line even though most there think it's awesome because they gave up less sacks than us (which means diddly when you break it down) So a lot of work needs to be done there....and doing it with a rookie HC and GM as well as a fresh face DC..well growing pains will occur...which we can attest to in our first few years of this new regime and rebuild

Interesting to hear from D.TAylor that people have been saying that WPG is going to throw money at Burnham..as well to look out for them landing Willie Jefferson..that signing alone would would be entertaining to watch rider fans heads explode and turn on him as a traitor and that no loss as he one dimensional..disappears for games..etc..etc...not sure that where we should place a lot of money but if his salary basically replaced OPO's then him and Jeffcoat with Roh rotating would be pretty intruiging Fenner restructuring to save team 20k prior to free agency is a sign of a true pro and guys wanting to be here..and doing whatever to help the team..kudos to him

Find it interesting too that most teams...some more than others have locked down a lot of players..some big names too, and the Riders have been very quiet other than a couple of Meh guys (Purifoy and Edam) Either they are sitting on a bunch...un-announced as of yet...or they will be scrambling...or they are gonna throw the bank at Reilly or Harris...and see whats left to re-sign guys...which in itself is a recipe for disaster on an already thin depth team and one that has lost several starters already from last year

exactly...and guys walked for less money elsewhere.....now come for less money If we can add just one of Posey/Walker/Burnham to go with Adams, Woli and Harris then we'd be looking really good even with just incumbents manning the other 2 spots (Thompkins and Simonese) and Peterman as the first sub/rotation guy

Burnham has proven to be very durable....he also makes the dirty catches..Walker not so much

In a perfect free-agency we sign Chungh the day or 2 before, then use money freed up from no Goosen/Lafrance/Opo/Loffler which frees up about a little over 500k if not more for what we already payed Goose/Opo/Lafrance/Loffler ..so 500k+ of last year committed money is available We give Boateng Opo'ish money say at with 165k and Adeleke a nice 135k to pull him out of Calgary and then with the remaining 200k we pick the receiver we think is the best and aggressively go at him.. We can flip ratio and start 2 imports on defence and 5 on offence and we have already have adequate rotation guys on the defense to rotate Boateng to give him a break...and if we re-up Corney it's even better

yeah...seeing as we are already settled at the QB spot..as well as the QB on defense and only 1 o-line position that we could conceivably even go with what we have...we are sitting pretty nice for free agency and being able to really go hard for the guys we want...shall be interesting to see what we do for the ratio..I think we may see some intriguing surprises in that regard

Hodge has no clue...we got rid of Randal..Leggett..most likely Dressler..Opo...Wild..Lafrance..Goosen salaries...and only real big increase has been to Biggie...plus signed only a whack of teams guys really..Bryant and Medlock most likely got minimal raises..so to say we are tight to cap at this point is extremely laughable....

they just re-upped hardly adequate Edem...any highlight of him I recall last year is usually in chase being beat for a TD

whens the last time we seen that tho since???? and don't recall what happened next play, but I'd rather have a safety pick that pass off...not get there late...a better throw and arcenaeux makes that catch for a TD

been trying to tell you people...safety is easy to fill especially if you have an athletic guy to play it in the traditional way...which we should be doing with the linebacking crew we have. So Jones..Conteh...heck even Hect can man that position adequately with no drop off and you wont even notice Loffler is gone...and really..I'd offer Adeleke 130k hard money in free agency to lure him here...solves safety and a returner option...much better value and probably more impactfull player over course of the year

Me thinks that Loffler is waaaayyyy over valuing himself...upwards of 200k for an extension??...see ya bud...money better spent elsewhere and safety isn't where you spend it...whoever pays that is nuts I guarantee you...if he is gone....you won't even know it or miss him...too many people here are way too enamored with his big hits a few years ago and look past a lot of his deficiencies..such as can't cover, or run with a receiver at all....always late to breaking up a pass as the deep safety...sure he lays a lick on a guy occasionally but who cares when they made the catch anyway..

agreed...hardly connected with any real inside sources...I think he just tosses a lot of "could happen" rumours out there and hopes one will come to fruition here and there and make him look credible My best guess is Chungh wants to see what the market has to offer, and then giving the Bombers the opportunity to match it...and good on him for that
