  1. How it works is you declare before the game that you will use X amount of National starters on offense...and X amount of National starters on defense, and this has to be maintained throughout the game. You don't have to declare "who" they are...you just need to maintain the number you declared. So if the offense is sucking you would have to remove an import o-lineman with your Canadian back-up to get in an extra import receiver And as said above...a DI can come in only for another American...unless you are staring more than the required Nationals...then he can come for whomever
  2. the o-line will get it done...no issues there...same unit as last 2 years now basically save for Bond and the loss of him isn't going to be hardly noticeable..Christ if he got cut from the sad sack O-line that is Sask then he must have really regressed...nobody on their current o-line could displace anyone on ours..I'd go as far to say that our back-ups (Fokketti/Couture/Spooner) are all guys who could slot in and start there and make that team better....man sure is nice to be where we are with O-line depth and talent then it is there eh?
  3. nobody is willing to negotiate the way Jones tries...thats the bigger issue there...plus he has no idea how to manage a SMS system...and it has shown the last few years...keep believing it is a "didn't fit the system" thang...whereas it's more of a "oh crap we in SMS trouble and gotta shave $$" He rob's Peter to pay Paul...now are in a very serious depth and Canadian talent predicament..and sadly it can't be fixed this year ...well because he has his assets all piled up in a couple spots and can't address the glaring issues....He is a horrible G.M and evaluator of talent and how to build a team. His sucess before as a H.C was mainly due to him having things all set up for him and he just reaped the rewards from it...plain and sim[ple
  4. And going against an experienced Argo dline..should be fun to watch..
  5. Interesting that Leggett is on field at practice with helmet on....possibly he was just held back for 3 extra weeks of rest for safe measure and allow us to see the other candidates more thoroughly? We know what he can do on the field and he knows the defense...not like he needed reps to get acclimated. If he is good to go at his Sam position game one...this defense just got even better...Moe..Randle..Loffler..Fenner..most likely Gaitor and Alexander and Fogg in some capacity looks pretty good to me with Bighill and JSK roaming around with them
  6. sign him just for the fact that Sask can't and let them flounder around looking to find National depth
  7. Actually if Hardrick and Foketti can't go..and we have to dress 4 national O-lineman to start the game we conceivably don't have to start 2 national receivers and one of Tompkins/Flanders wouldn't have to even be a DI. I truly hope we 46 Lankford to start the season and see what Demski/Augustine/Fogg do on kick-offs and utilize Tompkins or Washington (if ready to go) as the 4th American receiver. They offer you way more than Lankford as a receiver, and really...not having Lankford on roster as a return guy isn't going to be the reason we lose a game...but a big bodied stud receiver could be a reason you win a game
  8. Medlock could play for at least 3-5 more years if he so chooses too..
  9. I wouldn't be concerned with Opo as a health risk...Last yr was an abberation and could be the result of not really playing a full season of ball since 2015. His 2 years in the league prior to being here he played all 18 games in a season
  10. Looking at our roster make-up...ratio..etc....I'm wondering who the DI's are going to be Obviously Medlock and one of OPO and Roh But after that it's a crap shoot. Demski and Fogg (who I assume grabbed a HB spot) can return punts...Augustine can return kick-offs as could Fogg and Demski, so really I don't see a need for Lankford to be one right away...that be a waste if we could dress a Washington or Tompkins in his spot. Also, with the flexibility of Gaitor/Fogg/Fenner/Alexander to play multiple positions do we not dress an import DB and use Jones/Morgan on the corner and move Alexander inside..freeing up say a spot for a Flanders or another import receiver or will it be Wilson at LB? I almost think in game we would be fine with Briggs/Miles as back-up LB's to allow us to use DI in a different way
  11. Dressler would have fit any system...Jones just has a boner for guys who look sexy in uniform even if they can't play the position well....
  12. AND the decision he made was to hang his hat on a QB who is a big question mark and showed when bullets were flying on Friday that he is what he was the last 2 years...bad...and a Back-up in Bridge who is not a long term answer...running around ad-libbing ducking and chucking isn't a longterm success story. He also decided to neglect his o-line with Canadian depth...actually in Canadian starters who are top tier and has zero PR options in case they get hurt..or fail...If one or both of Labatte/Clarke get hurt....man o man what is he going to do...start all import o-line?? and even so...has no depth in Canadians to adjust the ratio... so he decided to field a weak team?
  13. Yeah we have built nice CDN o-line depth to continue and move forward with a National interior (Guard-Center-Guard) Re-watched the BC game and am more than comfortable if Spooner or Couture had to step in at guard as in game replacement or for several games if need be. Spooner plays with a nasty edge and him and Chungh at guards would give the 0-line a real mean streak to it. We also have Speller backing up the back-ups and he actually impressed me too being trhown it against the BC regulars and working with the other guys who have never played a game together before...and other than few blips here and there and the turnstyle that #65 was actually fared quite well all things considered. Bryant and Hardrick are solid as solid can be and Foketti having to come in for one of them isn't that big a drop off...we drafted well and prepared well for longevity..we should be pleased. Now look what C.Jones has done...poor drafting and bad assett management. Even if they want to start 3 Canadian O-lineman I don't think they realistically can. At moment JSJ is hurt..again and basically a bust..and Bladek is hurt too...and really isn't that good..Labatte is aging and injury concerns a lot now and Clarke....worst center in the league. So even if Bladek can start the year healthy a Labatte/Clarke/Bladek trio is weakest in league...no game day roster back-up who is national...and get this...not a single guy who is a national on the PR....Like WTF?!!?!?!
  14. Bryant is a DT....and played the whole BC game...and looked good in doing so...Montgomery in essence (same with Casher) had 4 guys ahead of them on the depth chart...Jeffcoat..Opo...Roh and Corney so pretty hard to crack the roster...Opo tho higher priced has lots of value on the field and in the dressing room. Most likely will have a pretty big year too this year with a yr under his belt and so far injury free this year.
  15. the vanilla schemes thing too is a bit of a not always true...They did several different looks and stunts that were far from vanilla...Strev's seen a few things that were new to him that game...and it was a good thing as thats how you learn. He didn't look as calm and settled as in first game, but that being said if he had played behind his regulars against what basically was BC's 1st stringers well into the 3rd quarter he would have looked a bit better....
  16. Kind of funny as per usual the Riders are one of only teams taking full use of their 6 game IR...again...lol
  17. That's a weak Assad depth chart..or shall we say nodepth chart?
  18. I would hope Montolgomery gets added..or stuffed on the 1 game injured
  19. I would think several of them be on practice roster.
  20. Neither really impressed me in the Bc game..pr spots I am sure tho
  21. Man..call me shocked on both..I nb guess at receiver maybe looking for bigger bodies guys ri back up adams/bowman...so most likely looking at keeping Washington.. Randle and Tompkins...if lankford tho is kept over any I gonna puke
  22. What's the over under on the number of guys they go scrap heaping on after all the cuts are made??... Gleefully am pretty sure bombers will make....zero.. we are going to have a hard enough time squirelling away all our cuts to save for a later date
