Just finished game...was in Air last night...some thoughts... Parker....do you all see now why I was campaigning for him all yr... hustles...as game saving tackle shows...solid as there is tackler on the team...fastest dude on team...Lucky couldn't shake him ...great cover guy and with more reps to get in the flow likely best all around DB on roster..why it took Osh this long and injury to likely figure this out blows my mind BO ....monster...heartbeat...as he goes...we go...should be our and league MOP and MOC Love Woli and Bailey and as well if not the heartbeat they the blood...as the weather turns...they will be even more important...play that got me out of my seat was Bailey obliterating that yappy head hunting #28 and likely ending his season... Eli...solid...mauling...intense...plays angry...and even missing Neuf oline did its job and then some...if only Osh would make Eli the center our line becomes a bullying machine...Kolo is our weak link... Did we finally too realize Lawson is the guy to get majority or reps as the main Canadian DT.?? Was impactful and noticeable due to actually getting bulk of reps...again...why did it take until game 16? Loved seeing more and more of Cole on defense and in different roles....dude needs to be on field more...and more...makes plays and can cover ground...and fast Punter...still blows...and his ability to not be able to hit a punt in the conventional way to pin a team out of scoring position almost cost us when his punt out of our end barely got to mid field ..the dude we just cut had the better leg...but HC fell in love with the quirky Aussie crap for no apparent reason other than its different Grant...glad he's back on multiple levels...he just brings something to this team. Solid win tho..with some hiccups and still some issues and things that should be changed but now WF is totally in our control...and we needed that to punch our ticket Yup...again that is our bread and butter and going away from it especially inside the 30 and getting to cute was direct result of ball security issues...this game really shouldn't have been close Good play...but also should have had that...or better yet slapped it out of bounds...he almost bobbled it right to the Lion receiver...he had a few gaffs tho as well...and still would rather a more physical better tackler be in his spot...

Yup...we need to solve the middle to let our edge guys and 2 main backers eat again

even if he doesnt and is relegated to a supporting role with salary to match...or pushed into that

I could see Wilson to MLB and Cole as a WIL....Even Clements if continues to evolve...both are a little light...that being said that metric these days is a little outdated and not vital....JC Sherrit among others did just fine in the middle and believe were even smaller...if you can play the spot...u can play the spot...

Neuf was listed as a GTD before we left....so they knew thre was a chance, and to not have prepared for it is such a fail and really un-called for...and sad we have zero options now to even address it...shows you how lousy our PR is and how we used it...only practical one we had was a guy we just cut....when we knew we could be short...unforgiveable if you ask me.... I'd rather go without a guy than have Schmeckle out there...as thats as much use he is worth...even last game we dressed him...why I dont know but I think he got 3 reps....Yet we sat Kelly who is great on ST's

second match line did just fine.....first match was a combo of unprepared for, and not properly schemed for the BC fast edge rushing...plain and simple

if we didnt roster an additional player and we did that...that be even more of a epic coaching failure moreso than it is now as per my earlier post

You would have liked to think we knew of potential Neuf not being able to go prior to the other days walkthrough at home .and yesterday's travel day and posting of the depth chart and have accommodated for the possibility....as in bring an extra body...a Canadian one...but...we cut our only viable one left... Burtenshaw a FB who could have took that roster spot...and even further so could have bumped Jackson and allowed another Dline man...or db as we have zero depth in either spot....but that would make sense...now we are a man short on roster...and still as thin at 2 key defensive positions...Neuf will dress just to satisfy the quota of Canadians needed but be of zero use...now if that's not an example of poor coaching/roster management I don't know what is...especially going into the most important game of season....flame away those who don't see it

interesting ELI goes before Dobson at guard....I wish they would run Eli at center and Dobson at guard and see how that shakes...can always plop Kolo back and shift Eli over if Dobson struggles...as Eli is a natural center agree.....look forward to see him grade some holes

you can...and whatwe need to do isn't wholesale....longer u drag your feet...more extreme it will be...we dragged them this yr in a few instances where we shouldnt have well he better re-think that....and you make changes where they need to be...plain and simple very true hardly...center...and maybe LT if and when SB retires...strength of line eminates from center out...Eli for Kolo..Dobson for Gray.....Gray stays on as a valuable swing guy who can play all positions...All in house guys who really should have been getting in game reps in those spots as it is in blow outs....in case of an injury....why they havnt got it is puzzling and to be frank...dumb and short sighted

I actually think it could be a ZC/Strev combo as early as next yr actually

even without a constant jumbo package...which we didn't need exclusively last game, we just need to spread out the line....be that with motion and one of Woli and baily coming in and working the edge, with BO riding shotgun to chip...then release and keep the BC ends out wider we shall be fine...their 2 interior guys shouldn't be able to outmuscle us up the gut all game....and if they feel they need to bring extra guys....then we should have guys keyed on that and cut routes off to exploit it...be interesting to see how this game within the game pans out My hope is we come out with the game plan to cram it down their cramholes until they can adjust or show they can stop it....and thats with heavy BO and sweep and jet motion stuff to keep them guessing who gets the rock...that will open things right up...plus beat the snot out of their dline

yeah physically they won't be able to sustain that...even set a tone initially.....our boys come out with a purpose along the line we will own the line of scrimmage

not sure how to describe it....just "it" I guess...plus we will be saddled with a pretty pricey contract to keep him through to 2025...so it will steal from elsewhere on the roster...Just something about him just to me says good second fiddle in a pinch...but not your bell cow.....and he isn't great at any particular thing...moreso passable at most

cant argue there....and toss in Hansen another yr removed from his injury and we look pretty good we really dropped the ball when Haba was out not grabbing Lemon to finish out the season here...sad part he wanted to come here and expected this is where he would have landed......and in his 10 games so far..22 tackles...7 sacks...2 picks...a FF....would have been a nice compliment to our DE's, and another good guy for Haba to learn from.

I think with a nice rotation...Jeffcoat would stay healthy...and when he is healthy...I'd say he is the best all around DE in the league....actually best dlineman in my opinion We seriously need an impact LB though who is in his prime to transition to, Biggie is good, but doesnt seem elite anymore...and is up there in age with a lot of mileage...at right price though would be an excellent DA to support next yr's starters

you still dont go away from it...especially before mid 3rd quarter if down....and if we that far down early that we have to abandon the run then kiss first place and likely a return to the cup by bye BC is gonna be more concerned with how bad we gouged them deep and intermediate range last game...that should be their focus, as they know BO and our run game is gonna likely put up at least 100 anyway...They are gonna try and attack ZC and not let him set up for the shots out of the gate...so hopefully Buck has schemed for some early motion and use BO and Demski in the screen game, with Lawler and Schoen taking guys deep on skinny posts and corner routes....to start things off and see if and how BC adjusts, and how they come out

I hope we do lose Brown, cause really he isn't a long term answer here, and I hope thats not who we hitch a wagon to DE wise,,,the Jeff's have a lot of life and value in them...look at dominant ends of recent yrs....even interior guys...are very effective into mid 30's...even past that...but with strong rotation and depth around them...thats where we need to focus on things, and develop....our roster makeup has to be revamped, and can easily be done...We have an abundance of LB's who play strictly ST's...and are basically weaknesses if they need to actually take defensive snaps....other teams have athletic tweeners/DE types who play a lot of teams....and are used in dline rotations....so it's time to make some tweaks, because if we don't...our roster will continually be hard pressed to make that happen If we dont go hard in FA period next yr to secure 2 legit Canadian Dlineman ....could be both ends, or an end and an interior guy then we will see more of the same ..especially if we have to roster an American Kicker...Bennett and Kongbo will be there for the taking...and failing to land even 1 will be an epic fail.

yup...Let our oline eat and serve things up for BO...until the Lions either can adapt...or have the will sucked outta them....then pour it on more

hopefully BO is primary focus to open things up...and not forgotten about with all or nothing shots over an over

for the draft....the Coach has a huge say in who is drafted...thats not a Walters decision alone...also players brought in...Coach has input in what they want/need...would like to see....but it's become apparent that Osh has his favorites...and will die on a hill with them until it gets real bad....he was like that earlier in his tenure as well with some complete head scratchers....and in all honesty...with culture established here....it doesnt evaporate with a coach leaving.....any competant coach who isn't clueless can maintain a high winning percentage when supplied with the right talent....and capable co-ordinators...they are the ones who design what we do we don't need to spy tho...why remove a guy from normal duties...a vet QB will exploit the heck out of that...may work with a raw rookie as we seen with Crum....we need to be active on the dline, with looks....stunts...and fresh capable bodies (which we don't have and is a big Achilles heal) and not sacrifice assignment to be overly fancy....mix coverages with some combined zone and man to man and make the Vaj have to actually sit in pocket and think...and we will see what he did vs Toronto....cough the ball up... On offence....throw away the cute crap, and play our game...establishing the line and run....disecting with layered short and intermediate routes with motion in the back field....and the seas will part and we will wear the undersized Lions front right down.....do this...we win...handily
