  1. Lot of orthopedic doctors on this site.
  2. Don't you think O'Shea would be actively looking for a back up if he was not happy with what he has? If the coaches are good I hope they stick with them. The problem we had in the past is we didn't have a starter and would throw a back up who was not ready and who would get really burnt. Should we get past this year with Willy our guys will be that much more prepared to step up.
  3. I think it's a good thing. It might not make much sense if you relate it to the TV series but you have to consider what province it comes from. I appreciate all the work that went into this poster. First they sent the whole executive out to find a model in their province and after they all came back each with a Fiona they had to fly one in from somewhere out of province. The logo was a result of going to all the high schools and having a contest for their third graders. These kids had a bit of a problem grasping the concept but being 18 helped some.
  4. Very well, Rod. Tears running like a torrent. Don't want to have to open the Hoop & Howler road again.
  5. If you take that over possibly four years (to 33 yrs old) that represent a pretty good chunk of change. At 75K it pretty well means an extra year free.
  6. I was surprised to hear O'Shea mention Mathews's name. I'm just wondering if MOS style of coaching might bring the best out of Mathews. Let's face it the coaching while he was here was not what you could call great or even good. I would like to see him back for a test drive under our current system. Doesn't cost much and who knows, we could get a pleasant surprise. He might want to be part of a great group of guys and want to contribute. If not at least we can say we tried.
  7. Hey, I did not take the comments about Bell personally.
  8. I assume you know something about this? Jim lived Blue & Gold so please explain what you mean. What has living Blue and Gold have to do with it? Miller also lives Blue and Gold. I'm not steering this thread, and I'm not purporting to know anymore than anyone else, I'm just following along with the same information everybody else has Reported earlier was the phrasing: gbill2004, on 26 Aug 2014 - 1:11 PM, said: Bell says he did not resign his position. It is believed he and CEO Wade Miller reached a mutual agreement on a parting of the ways due to philosophical differences. They had differences, I can't see Miller not being in with the plan…that leaves Bell. Call it what you will... re-structuring, firing, salary cuts, whatever…it doesn't mean Bell is anything but another good guy who lost a position he loves. It happens to all of us. I was just saying people are jumping on Miller…without knowing all the facts and perhaps on previous prejudices of Miller. I just see it as another Bomber organizational move, I'm not trying to breath life into any rumour. Who said they had differences? The thread you use as your reference says "it is believed ...." How does that make it they had differences? I respect Miller's right to fire Bell but to say it was because he did not buy into the plan is not correct. What I'm trying to say here is I have a hard time believing Bell would not have bought in a plan that was good for the Bombers.
  9. I assume you know something about this? Jim lived Blue & Gold so please explain what you mean.
  10. I also go back quite a ways with Jim so I guess I would be considered partial. So when things were not good and the fans were upset like when the stadium was not ready or when the traffic to the stadium was a mess who did the Bombers trot out to face the music? He also took most of the flack during the security issues. I won't speculate as to the reason for his departure but I doubt it had to do with his work. I wish him well.
  11. As in 'The rumour is'. Wouldn't mind them driving up the price to 250k for the riders. However, if that's the case let's hope the pickers hid all the pitch forks in Sask.
  12. I have a little problem buying into that argument. Even the back ups have known the rules for many years.
  13. Mathews would need a major Mo adjustment. All the talk about Dressler is getting the rider fans real jumpy.
  14. What ever happened to the exciting 3 down football? Halfway through the year each team has scored on average 1.2 passing TD per game. Yesterday's BC/Sask game like too many this year had about the same entertainment value as taking 3 valium pills. After the first 3 minutes the only exciting moment was when Bagg developeds instant rheumatoid arthritis.
  15. I am sorry but this is a stupid ******* statement to make. Just because there are other issues doesn't mean we can't take steps to fix one of the problems... that being Grigsby. He's not good enough as he is now regardless of what we have at OL. If he wants to start running harder then by all means he can stay, but he's gotta show that for more than just the 4th quarter. Give Cotton a chance see if it improves (and no 4 carries in the 3rd quarter against montreal don't count as a chance). It might help even with those other problem areas. You can work on more than one area at a time you know. It's easier to replace one player than 5. Ok! I'm done on this. Let's put in Cotton and see what happens. Only time will settle this issue.
  16. Sorry, I was talking about the Toronto Game. Willy ran for his life all night and Gribsby did nothing. In the Montreal game Willy had his moments in the second half and so did Grigsby. In the first half our offence stunk, 3 first downs. Willy & Cotton were in there and neither did anything. It's not too hard to see the correlation here. Gribsby might have some problems but there are other bigger ones at the root that have to be fixed or one game we will lose our QB.
  17. Until someone tells me how you can teach a running back to run through people I think we have a very decent guy who has not been getting much help from the line. I fail to see the humour in a comment about Willy & DD after having watched Willy getting beat up all night because the line couldn't stop the dline even when they were sending only 3. That's the same line that could not open a gap let alone stop their guys from being in Gribsby's face as soon as he got the ball. He's not Roberts but Cotton has not shown that much either. The Montreal line had him dancing too so why was he doing it?
  18. I just can't figure this out. Here we have a guy that is leading the league and a 4.7 yd average but many are still not satisfied. I must be missing something obviously. Of course our Oline has nothing to do with this. Why is it that Willy is also ineffective at the same time? Might it be the line is not protecting Willy just like it is not opening holes.
  19. Have to disagree with you on this one. We lost to both Sask and Toronto for the same reasons: Willy was under pressure all night, we couldn't stop the run when it mattered and we couldn't run the ball to save our lives. Expect Montreal to follow the same game plan that the Roughies and Boatmen used, and if Bowman has the same success as Chick did, we're in big trouble in this game. If Montreal wins, they have a chance to both save Higgins' job and the season. If we lose, the next time we look up we could be on a six game losing streak and seeing the playoffs disappearing in the distance. Confidence is a fragile thing sometimes and if the Bombers don't win convincingly tonight, its gonna be a long season from here on in and we could be 7 and 11 at the end. I agree with you we lost both games for the same reason. What I was trying to say is we never had the time to correct what we were doing wrong. Tonight will be just like the old days Radio only. We'll have to say away from the straight back drops and use the space vacated by Bowman. Cox wasn't that prominent last week.
  20. I feel we lost the Toronto game because we never had the time to rest and adjust after the game against the melon heads. Our house, our refs, it's payback time!
  21. Well, you realize we lost two games in a row don't you?
  22. It makes one wonder if they feel they're not getting Dressler back. Maybe they can't afford the possible bidding war. Green must be making a pretty good buck. The cap is maybe just something Taman puts on his head.
  23. I wish you would have phrased that differently. Fixed it for ya
  24. Where were you when we needed you?
