  1. That was the exact time Jones/Reynolds took over.
  2. Reynolds took over and immediately threw the code of conduct out the window. He was the original culture setter that rules don't matter. No culture until he is gone. He cheated to get Jones, he then allowed...nay...encouraged Jones to cheat, who in turn allowed his players to play fast and loose with the rule book. It's so entrenched there now you gotta blow it up. Nik Marshall and a couple Crips wanna have a word with you about your opinion.
  3. Paul Jones has had health problems that has limited his scouting ability. Outside of him they really have no one. O'Day couldn't find talent if it was dropped in front of him, they got the glorified donut/water boy from Calgary, and Larry Dean who knows nothing at this point and is a really baffling choice to be tying up ops dollars really. This is a team that is going to see even further decline of talent. They are leaving everything to an aging and in poor health Paul Jones. He's one of the best identifiers of talent.....but if you can't go look because you are 250 lbs overweight and are having complications from that, it doesn't do a team a lick of good.
  4. In 3 down football it is very difficult to nickel and dime your way to points. Don't allow large chunks of yardage on any given drive and the offence will not sustain many drives. It's too hard to maintain efficiency for any offence up and down a field 5 yards at a time when you don't have any margin for error. One broken play or one defensive good play and it's drive over. Any defence will give any team the short yardage stuff all day long and they won't get scored on very much. It's what we are doing so well this year. We limit the first down gains and force them to pass on 2nd down. Teams run around 50% efficiency on 2nd and long on a good day.
  5. I wonder if the water is brown if he will be surprised that people call it dirty water.
  6. It's a passing league. Always has been, always will be. Can't pass....can't win....or at least won't win often.
  7. We were so far ahead there were some plays we didn't even bother to line up before the snap.
  8. I am not surprised at all. CRF lost control of that site when he starting letting Stronson do whatever he wants to do.
  9. The pass rush as a secondary function is as much by design as it is personnel driven. Younger is purposely sacrificing pass rush for coverage, to some pretty good results I might add. Yea, we are playing with little to no blitzing and few true pass rush 4 man fronts. Its giving us great results so far.
  10. Schoen's strengths are what has been missing from our passing game all year. I don't care what Wilson and Wheatfall are capable of, they don't bring to the table of our receiving corps what Schoen does. Different styles entirely.
  11. Clercius still on the cheap, Dalton will take the obligatory shave because of his injury, and Lawler will likely have to take a shave as well due to production. I see absolutely no reason why we can't and wouldn't sign both guys and for a lot cheaper possible SMS hit than what we had going into this year. If I were a betting man I'd say Schoen at about 175k with minimal signing bonus but lots of games started bonus available. Lawler at about 180k...a fair deal for both sides imo. We keep both Wilson and Wheatfall and possibly go with extra IMP receiver next year. What a receiving corps that would be....Schoen, Lawler, Wilson, Wheatfall, Demski with Woli/Clercius rotating in to keep guys fresh or if ratio calls for it.
  12. Worst....the ABSOLUTELY WORST thing you can do to a young QB is throw him into meaningful action before he is ready. The fact we went out and immediately signed 2 QBs when Strev went down tells me that our coaching feels, at the very least, that he may not be ready yet. Anyone who knows a lick about QB development knows that you can't hurry the process. Every QB has a different time line. What is universal is that throwing them into the fire before they are ready will almost certainly ruin a QB.
  13. True....but the beautiful thing about playoff football is there is always a chance of a foul weather game. That can be quite the equalizer sometimes.
  14. Dolegala is actually a decent passer if he gets protection. What he isn't very good at is anything outside the pocket.
  15. It's not whether he is composed or not, the difference in game speed between exhibition and regular season is night and day. I don't think so. We had our experienced 1 and 2 and then 3 where Wilson was as a development QB. That seem to be our M.O. for several years now.
  16. They did bring in Dolegala as soon as Strev went down. Almost immediately really.
  17. Grainger is pretty raw but yea if he can fine tune some stuff and IF he can read the game around him he could end up being a gooder.
  18. The best chance to win immediately? Probably Dolegala...but it would depend on his grasp of the playbook. Wilson is a rookie with 0 games played. It's not that he doesn't have potential but winning right off the bat would be a lot to ask.
  19. He's another cheap shot like that away from being in the XFL with Marino.
  20. I suppose the Bombers should update their page if they are saying differently. Lots of public record confirming what I am saying. Mack was fired after a 1-5 start and the interim tag given to assistant GM Kyle Walters at that point.
  21. Yep. For sure. Not meant as an indictment on Walters. Just a general statement confirming that all GMs have their share of whiffs at the draft table and that Walters is no different in that regard.
  22. Faith Ekakitie was a Kyle Walters miss. Kyle Walters has his own big whiff draft picks to cry about.
  23. Hate to see a career like Biggie's end like this, but I think him coming back would be a long shot. That's not a knock on Biggie, just the reality really. I hope he can bring his intangibles to the table for us in a different way for many years to come. It was after 6 games in 2013 he became interim GM. He then went onto a 2-10 record for the rest of the year. No. However, there was speculation to that regard. Walters never really stated anything publically.
  24. How do I know that? Walters stated so. He gave a very lengthy interview about why and how he hired MOS in the pre-amble to the '19 Grey Cup. If you've heard differently then it is at odds with Walters own recollection of events. I completely agree that Walters and Miller wanted to create a better and winning culture. My point is that they hired MOS to do that and gave him free rein to do so.
  25. Walters was named assistant GM and director of canadian scouting on December 5/2012. He took over as acting GM a few games into the 2013 season when they fired Mack.
