  1. No need to clarify for CoFaj, he will read this and be on the news at 6 to talk about it himself with a box of tissues tucked under his arm.
  2. The words Cody and Fajardo are the very definition of panic response. He sees a DL on the distant horizon and immediately runs backwards spinning to his right the whole time.
  3. Not only does he know the system, he thrived in it last year.
  4. I suspect that will depend whether we play him at boundary HB or SAM LBer, Methinks the latter. Darby is not the guy to cover a 1A or 1B receiver and I'm not sure why Hamilton played him there. He is however pretty damn good at picking up coverage on a team's 4th or 5th option, tackles well in the run game, and is great at keeping contain on QBs. Hmmm....where to play him?
  5. I am not sure you are understanding that he played a vastly different position in Hamilton than he will here. Your comparison makes no sense because Cody was QB then and is QB now. We are going to move Darby to a position he has demonstrated he is better at than being in the secondary.
  6. Back on Riderfans...section 139guy. That should surprise no one really. lmao. Pretty sure he has 2 accounts and is actually RileysRompers as well so that he can make it look like someone agrees with his outlandish statements of delusion. Should we be looking for something in his tweets?
  7. They played him at boundary HB. We play him at SAM LBer. The difference in the situation should be obvious. He struggled at HB because he is much better suited to being a LBer.
  8. He is an all star SAM in this league. He proved that last year. Hamilton did not play him at SAM. They tried to force a square peg in a round hole by playing him at HB and CB. It would be like wondering why Willie Jefferson is not a particularly great DT after a team moves him from DE. We brought Darby here to be our SAM, a position he is far more well suited for.
  9. According to Migs the RIders are an 11-12 win team right now if they are middle of the pack in injuries this year. LMAO. That's the level of delusion that very few fans ever attain.
  10. Not to mention Hamilton never utilized him at SAM at all, they had him playing HB and CB. That's a completely different ball of wax altogether.
  11. What he did in Hamilton is completely irrelevant. DIfferent team, different system. He had great success, all star success, here last year and there is no reason in the world to believe he cannot/will not play at a high level on our team in our system again. DB, particularly, is a position where sytems can make a player look great or awful depending on whether they are well suited to them. Darby is well suited to our system.
  12. Wilcotts showed some promise but if Darby is the same guy as last year in our system this is a big win for us. This was move born of necessity as our secondary is razor thin too. I will breathe a little easier with Darby back.
  13. Same could be said for a lot of OC's. No QB...no chance. That's life in the CFL, and very few QBs are developed along the way. That's why we consistently roll out guys like Vernon Adams, Cody Fajardo. Matt Nichols, etc over the past several years. It's the reason that a clearly broken BLM will get a contract, it is why 2 teams traded against long odds on Collaros's concussion problem. I agree with a lot of what you are saying about Lapo, but holding it against him that he has never developed a QB is a criticism a lot of OCs in our league wear.
  14. Awww man....sometimes Rider fans just make it too easy.
  15. Dan Clark would have singlehandedly led them to an undefeated record according to Migs.
  16. Reminds me of 2010 when I hung onto the league power rankings (they had some formula back then based on the stats as opposed to wins/losses) having us ranked 2nd in the league for a lot of the year. Wins be damned...we were statistically impressive. They were a cocky bunch back then weren't they.
  17. Was that me? I doubt it...but I was young back then and so I drank a lot....and I am a pretty happy drunk.
  18. His name was being mentioned as a dark horse for MOP at the time of his injury. Poor guy was playing the best football of his career and had finally been able to succeed a bit with his long ball. Andrew Harris was by far and away the MOP in the CFL in 2019. A healthy Harris may have given him a run for his money. Fajardo was not even in the same realm of play as those two guys.
  19. Last year he had some good production in a couple games where they targeted him a dozen times, but he has been below average since then and in other games around then. The guy is slow, fat, and lazy...there I said it. Every team loses a game or two a year that they should have won. It is near impossible for a team to go 18 games without laying an egg once in a while. It happens. Sometimes, as a team you lose focus for a few days or you are just plain tired and it catches up. People reading or extrapolating anything from the Hamilton game are overthinking it. The only thing we learned from that game is that the Bombers, just like every other team, need to be focused and energized in order to win. No flaw fatales or chinks in the armor were discovered by Hamilton...our guys just laid and egg and let it snowball for one game.
  20. The difference between 15-3 and 3-15 is usually about 15 mins a game of domination/being dominated. McGuire should stick to hockey because he doesn't know **** from shinola about football.
  21. You have to have locker room leaders willing to buy in and help too. It's not all on the coach to make this happen. Players follow their locker room leaders lead. To get 100% buy in, like the Bombers have, you have to have guys who set the example and are willing to go the extra mile to get everyone else on board. Strong coaching certainly is also another prerequisite, but you have to recruit the right players, find the right leaders, and have a coaches vision they can believe in and sell. When a locker room, and I use this term loosely, leader like Nick Marshall is openly feuding with his HC on social media it is a sure sign that there is a massive breakdown in the character and communication in that locker room. Any Rider fan hoping that the Riders will somehow overcome this and go through the East and win the Grey Cup at home is delusional. The Riders are a tire fire.
  22. I think they thought they were doing it for the past 3 seasons and is why I agree that JOD has to go. From what I have seen he can assemble a pretty talented roster, but he seems completely unable or unwilling to assess the character of the players. He judges them strictly on talent alone, and that is not enough. Every player in the CFL has some talent. The truly great players are the ones that bring intangibles along with the talent. JOD, and his coaching staff, seem to be unable to either find or bring out those intangibles in the players on the roster. It is his flaw fatale as a GM imo and I doubt things improve at all until they find a GM that is as equally concerned with building a locker room as he is with bringing in talent. You gotta do both and I am very surprised that JOD has not realized that yet and why I doubt he ever will.
  23. What the Riders need cannot be attained in an off-season. It is rebuild time in Riderville.
  24. I am sure Lawler would love to get a competitive offer from us and would strongly consider it.
