  1. It was a pretty ticky tack call. When a penalty like that is called I think it's garbage. Had no effect whatsoever on the play and is pretty subjective imo. Lean your head and you see it differently? Don't call it. Just a flag happy official imo.
  2. They weren't gassed until late 4th when we allowed Ottawa to dominate TOP and were running a tempo offence. Up until that point we dominated TOP and were not gassed. Tempo gasses defences no matter what your depth is because you CAN'T make substitutions. How pray tell would depth have helped when we couldn't get them on the field?
  3. Yea..I have no doubt Kelly tweaked something, sure didn't seem very serious tho.
  4. I have to wonder if Kelly pulled himself out of the game after being below average the entire first half? Just a conspiracy theory for now..but something to watch for considering his known attitude problems in the past.
  5. That's true. If that's our biggest gripe this season we will be because we are doing everything else pretty good. Yea..our killer instinct seemed to fade in that one.
  6. That's true. So many reasons a team loses any game. To pin it on one thing, fairly minor roster management miscues, is not really a fair assessment. At the end of the day we left points off the board, gave some away, and didn't close the game like a winner should. I thought it was Maruo..but same difference. Also Cole did play a lot of snaps that game and took a very stupid and costly penalty that extended an Ottawa drive in the 4th.
  7. OK...so you would have dressed an extra MIKE? Or an extra WIL? Our DL were grasping at air because we were blitzing that entire time and not respecting his legs. Who would you have dressed that eliminates Biggie being gassed, Briggs being not a great WIL, or the secondary playing soft? I am certainly not going to argue that our DL wasn't gassed and substitutions there may have helped, but there was far more wrong with our D than that in our final 3, right from playcalling on down.
  8. I'm not sure about that. Our secondary, where we had a ton of depth, started playing soft. Our Lbers where depth shouldn't be an issue, were whiffing. Not sure what DL depth would have done against bad D play calling. Fair enough
  9. Gotta be honest I've watched 4 Toronto games this year and in all of them Kelly was average.
  10. For sure. Miller has been so integral over the past few years that we were bound to see the difference without him. On long QB runs I wonder where the Lbers were not the DL. I think Hall putting 6 guys on the DL cost us on those runs.
  11. I agree with your synopsis. I don't agree that our roster construction, in and of itself, will ever cost us a game. I do agree that it can make winning harder. I would like to see MOS change it up. Not gonna get fired up about it though.
  12. Maybe they fine him 50 bucks or something.
  13. All true Noeller, but our lack of execution earlier in the game is what cost us the victory. Our defence being gassed was only a factor after we had already **** the bed. Roster management has been an issue all year. I certainly agree that it is worthy of criticism. I just don't agree that it is something that is so egregious that it will cost us games, nor do I believe it cost us the Ottawa game. We made mistake after mistake, pick 6...dropped TD..poor play calling...to suggest that it came down to roster management.
  14. Dude...you wanna meet me in Grand Rapids (halfway) and say that to my face? Lmao..jk You are right pickerel. However, I've been fishing with Americans quite a bit this year helping the lodge out, as they are short on guides. Got used to saying walleye I guess.
  15. Last July, we played them on a short week. Similar circumstances...Nathan Rourke ripping up the league and many suggesting BC had surpassed us. Moral of the story BC fans? We beat you from pillar to post...43-22. Short week is no excuse if you are truly the better team. We creamed your team last year on the short week because we were the better team. If the Lions were the better team this year, they would have found a way to at the very least be competitive yesterday.
  16. Bombers give notice to the league. Check. Walleye biting like crazy..33 so far today. Check. Just need the Riders to lose, preferably in heartbreaking fashion, and my August long checklist is rounded out.
  17. BC playing a lot fifty cent in the dressing room after the game. Not sure why?
  18. I agree with that. I'm in full agreement. Just don't think it will cost us games.
  19. Well aren't you the bringer of glad tidings tonight. LMAO
  20. Didn't just get beat, Tommy pulled away from him. At one point he was almost in tackling distance and then just like that Tommy was 15 yards out ahead of him. SLOW.
  21. No he doesn't. I love his versatility and what he brings part time to the offence but it's Grant 10 times out of 10 if we gotta choose between the two.
  22. I would think that Hansen would replace Maruo, and Miller maybe takes Burtenshaw's spot. Hope janarion is back soon too.
  23. I'd love to see both return very soon. Not sure how the heck we get them in the lineup...lol. Man....we are deep.
  24. Mike, with all due respect, it's the way that some of you guys are presenting the issue that some here are barking about. The hyperbole has been strong and vastly overstated. Would it be nice to see some extra PR dev, an extra DL, and maybe Parker in the game tonight. Absolutely. Could this cost us a game. NOT A CHANCE,. I'm sorry but it won't. We have too many quality and versatile guys up and down our roster to even remotely think that not dressing Parker tonight would have made a difference. It wouldn't have. Even if the game was closer. Even if one of our secondary guys went down. Our team is good enough to overcome bad roster management. That's the bottom line. That being said, I would like us to reach our full potential and find the roster management weird. I fully appreciate the conversation except when people exaggerate it's effect on our potential fortunes. We could roster better, but bottom line we are rostering better than probably any other team in the league right now despite not rostering our strongest potential lineup. I mean a month ago this whole conversation started with a very ominous question. "Is this the year the fan's turn on Mike Oshea?" Really?
  25. The roster management is weird. What is not weird, is that if we play like this when it matters the roster management quirks will be completely irrelevant. Could the roster management be better and worthy of discussion...for sure. However, some guys on here are ready to jump off the cliff about it and suggest that it will cost us games. I don't think it will. Our team on any day of the week is strong enough to win with whatever roster MOS puts out there. If they lose...that won't be the reason. Some guys are frustrated with it. I get that. Fire away. However, in the past month I've heard how we are too old, how our OL is just not very good anymore, and how our roster management is going to cost us games. I'm not buying any of that.
