  1. and a heck of a crack back block too....lol
  2. Certainly Biggie isn't the only guy doing it, and even if he was, if it is allowed in the rulebook than go for it. However, it does create dangerous situations and I'm glad the league has decided to come down on it in any scenario. As long as the rule is applied evenly across all teams I am always in favor of player safety rules.
  3. For sure. You get a 5 man unit with lots of time together and they will probably be better than the sum of their parts. When you have all good parts, you then get a great OL. I can see, for that reason, Dobson and Eli getting some reps in there as the season goes on to start building that bond and give our regulars a little rest. It's a nice little luxury we have.
  4. Exactly right. Until China, Russia, and the US decide to get serious about it, we are screwed no matter what. Not sure what we as Canadian pee-ons can do about that.
  5. Most Canadians are being asked to make sacrifices to lifestyle in a country that is very near its carbon neutrality goal in comparison to most of the world. Look, I will not dispute that climate change is a massive world issue that very badly needs drastic changes amongst the global population but let's not lay the blame on this at the feet of Canadians and put it where it belongs. If our planet is going to change our country's role in this isn't to eliminate our emissions, although it would help, our role has to be to take our place as a leading nation on this planet and get China, Russia, USA, India, Indonesia etc to cut their carbon emissions. It is pointless for Canadians to bang their head against the wall for 1.5% of the world's emissions that have a large % reabsorbed by our vast forests and waters. It is bass ackwards for our main focus to be on stopping our own emissions, our main focus HAS to be on stopping others emissions with carbon emissions reductions being a secondary target. We, as Canadians, could make the decision to go completely carbon neutral tomorrow along with the financial and societal repercussion that would come with that kind of rapid disruption to our economy and lives and the global warming crisis would not be slowed one iota.
  6. If someone calls him the little ball of hate I will puke. It is a pretty dirty play and I'm glad they got rid of it. You do it until you can't though, and then figure something else out. Damn family holiday Shakespeare play re-enactments....always scheduled the same time as football.
  7. Aging players that will be tough to replace: Yoshi, Biggie, Willie, Miller Aging players with in house replacements ready to go: Neuf, Stan, Jeffcoat Everybody else....equal replacements easily found in FA. I did not mention ZC because he is easily 3-4 years out from showing his age, same could be said about Willie really as he is a freak but you never know so I included him. So really, we have 4 guys that are aging out but all still playing at a high level that will require some fine work by Walters, everything else is pretty much taken care of or is easily taken care of. As long as Walters/MOS recognize the right time to move on from players when the time comes this team requires no rebuild and can easily sustain a high level of success for many years to come.
  8. Bad games happen to even the best occasionally. Stan is the least of my worries when it comes to players showing their age though. I honestly think that the BC Lions DEs just gave him looks and stunts that he was simply not prepared for, and I chalk it up to Stan having a bad film week.
  9. He is a career backup getting a chance to be a starter because our league is in a bit of a QB crisis right now. He shows just enough every 3rd or 4th game to give a fan base hope and is average to below average the other 3/4 of his games. That's not my opinion, that's historical and present day fact. Maybe, he has a team around him this year that can help him hide his warts a little more but he is realistically in the same ilk as a Matt Nichols, Kevin Glenn etc. He is not a guy I would be scared of over the course of a season. The spin move worked for 4 games in 2019, it can work again.
  10. Might be they didn't feel he was a fit for some other reason besides play.
  11. Yards will get you nothing but false hope. Losing teams quite often have the better yardage totals. In the game we shredded Saskatchewan we had about the same yardage as what TO had. No one would argue that we decimated their defence.....and you are delusional if you think this is the first time he has looked bad in a BC uniform. The guy had 4 piss poor outings for them last year alone and he only started 6 of them....not sure where you are getting 13 or 14 games from? 3 this year and 6 last year...in which he has 5 losses. Yea.....really a world beater that guy.
  12. Don't think the Canadian mafia caught wind of anything. This was just the first opportunity that represented a player being available that isn't a ham and egger. Seems to me that the mafia were probably keeping an eye on the Montreal situation knowing someone good was about to shake loose.
  13. Yea...forgot about Kelly. I think they are running 7 OL because they want to keep Tui and Dobson happy and not lose them as their future as OL stalwarts is approaching pretty quickly. Although, I do think that they would probably take game cheques on the IR as well I suppose.
  14. Possible we do that....but I think that MOS really likes his big jumbo pckg more than he likes Kramdi.
  15. I honestly hope Kelly is the real deal because our league needs that.
  16. Karamoko will work his way on in the near future. Probably just needs a little more coaching up first.
  17. For sure. OL age isn't a thing until injuries pile up. If healthy they can play forever almost and anyone thinking Biggie doesn't have some ball left in him is crazy. He takes really good care of himself. Is he on the decline, maybe a tiny bit, but that still leaves him as probably the best MIKE in the league just not the perennial MODP anymore. Also, when it comes to our OL we kind of have it covered already with some guys in house that would be starting on many OLs around the league already. Biggie, when it's time to hang them up....we go shopping...we are definitely one of, if not the most, desirable destination for any FA out there. There is no reason at all to think our star is fading, or that it will any time soon. Our program of excellence is built, and that is the hard part, now we just maintain.
  18. For sure...tendencies will be found out as film piles up and DCs will catch up to him. It's how it goes with QBs. No that doesn't help at all for sure.
  19. We have a few aging players at key positions....no doubt about it....but to suggest that we are old is kind of stupid. We are like .5 years older per average than the league average. We will need to replace Stan, Biggie, Yoshi and Neuf in the next couple years but everyone else is actually pretty young.
  20. TBH, Clements is playing pretty good this year and is just as fast as Wilson. I thought there would be a pretty steep drop off without Wilson but Clements has shown a lot of improvement this year. DL pressure will always make a QB look less than stellar, but Adams decision making was an abomination. If that's all it takes to get to him teams are just gonna pin their ears back and go at him. Some QB can make you pay for sending extra pressure, Adams just throws interceptions.
  21. BCs defense got shredded by Kelly and the run game, and their STs surrendered a TD. It was not just one player having a bad game....although Adams did look completely and thoroughly awful. However, BC is going to get that Adams 8 or 9 times this year so they better be a lot better when Mr. Hyde Adams shows up 50% of the time.
  22. Not sure how Exume was even available? However, great add and Szott was a waste of a spot so that's addition by subtraction. Not sure about Beeksma?
  23. Maier, like so many young flash in the pans, has been exposed somewhat once teams had enough film on him. I don't think he can get it done. However, they do have a pretty formidable run game....although I have not seen a CFL team win very often with a less than average aerial attack.
  24. No kidding. The Lions played terribly. End of story. Did Toronto deserve the win....for sure....but let's not sugar coat the fact that Adams gift wrapped it for them. The difference between the Bombers loss and the Lions loss, is that our team has PROVEN consistency and therefore our effort vs BC can be chalked up to a one off. BC, and I am speaking about Adams specifically, has a PROVEN record of inconsistency. That is why they are a pretender not a contender imo. By seasons end I have complete confidence that this post will age very well. BC will finish in a playoff spot because of how weak most of the league looks, but Adams is not the guy to string good performances together that are a must come playoff time.
  25. He really wasn't as bad as people made him out to be. There were at least 2 occasions last year where we were in a zone and other people missed their assignment, Rose recognized it and tried to help out only to be scapegoated because he couldn't do so in time and we mercilessly roasted him on here for that. In man coverage he was just fine, and in zone, the average football fan shouldn't assume a damn thing.
