  1. A ton of stuff he got torched for was not on him too.
  2. True, but when injuries pile up at one position group it affects play of that group. We can withstand injuries if they are spread out but it's hard to overcome 75% of your starters being out at a position group. He was still our best chance to win, and we almost did despite the fact our QB basically was numb from the knee down.
  3. If Collaros wouldn't have been playing on one foot we would be talking 4peet.
  4. Clements looks really dialed in. Past seasons he appeared confused in certain situations. This year, I think he's got it. It was never physical with him....big guy and speedy. Just would make lots of mental errors. This year not so much. Very pleasant surprise. I think Rose, in particular, will really settle our secondary down. He is a secondary QB out there and will really help in that regard.
  5. I disagree. When a player like Lawler wants to come back you bring him back. He is one of a handful of guys in this league that can bust a game wide open. His return will make life miserable for any team we face. I am not sure how any team can even game plan against our receiving crew when that happens. Plus, our defensive woes are a direct result of basically all our secondary being wiped out with injury before the season started. When we get studs like Parker, Rose, and some depth on the DL like Hansen back things will look differently on defence.
  6. .....and the BC Lions, as predicted, come crashing down to earth when Vernon Adams returns to norm from his every season 1 or 2 game hot streak. You can set your watch by it every year. He'll probably get hot for a couple more games this year but for the most part will be the not quite good enough starting QB for his umpteenth CFL team. How so? There are 3 teams that look like they are contenders and then it is a pretty steep drop off to the rest, with 3 teams looking like they would go winless if they didn't get the opportunity to play each other.
  7. Gotcha..my bad No doubt.
  8. He couldn't put 3 together. His defense won 2 of those games
  9. Our D has had a couple rough outings with almost all our secondary injured. When healthy no one touches us.
  10. Just saying productivity does not automatically go hand in hand with strong work ethic.
  11. Work ethic does not necessarily equal increased productivity. What a good owner/ manager should do is teach the guy with work ethic to work smarter. At the end of the day, job performance is evaluated on results. If someone works smarter, but not as hard, and has better results...that's my guy.
  12. In the private sector you are simply judged by your productivity. I don't give 2 figs if employee A is working twice as hard as employee B if they are meeting their targets. Now if neither guy is meeting expectations that's where work ethic gets measured
  13. In fairness, how different is our conversation about the secondary if they actually catch the 6 INTs thrown right into their hands. The jugs machine should be sweating right now if I'm Richie Hall. I'm not saying it's been a work of art or anything but the Bombers worst mistakes in the secondary seem to be penalties and dropsies. These are correctable with a good week of mental prep.
  14. For sure. I sure hope it goes back up. I have 20000 posts over there and very fond memories of many members, and conversations. It doesn't suck. It's heavily moderated for sure because it is ran by the team....but there have been a ton of great threads/convos over there.
  15. They really have an issue with window safety amongst the elite in Russia. They really need to look into their building codes over there. Putin is a plague on this world. He may not get what he deserves but if anyone deserves a rope in The Hague it is him. Many of his comrades as well.
  16. Yep Taman dropped that ball for sure....but also dodged a bullet in the process. Karikari for 150k back in 2006 would have been a massive overpay.
  17. Only the ones not BBQ sauce stained already. In fairness to Taman, he had a ton of flaws especially once their was a SMS but he was one of the best at convincing players to sign on the dotted line. If he is having that kind of success then a lot of GMs were having less.
  18. Hockey has changed. Being the best player in a trade doesn't mean as much now. Some teams could do well trading their best players and using that cap space to fix numerous holes they have. Teams need 3 good lines to compete and at least 4 good defenceman. Take Toronto for instance, they could trade Matthews, Marner, or Tavares for multi-players that would probably increase their chances of winning both short term and long term. The best valuation of a trade isn't who got the best player, the best valuation of a trade is who got best value vs their cap and filled the most holes imo. We sent PLD, but got 4 young guys in return that will provide options up and down our lineup. No one player is as good as PLD....but this is a trade that collectively makes the Jets better imo. Given the situation that Chevy was in that is a pretty darn good job.
  19. For sure....Brendan Taman in an interview once said that finding CFL calibre talent isn't that hard really, the hard part is convincing them to come up here. He said that the CFL has about a 10% success rate at convincing IMP players to sign a contract.
  20. It's too bad that Jeff Hamilton doesn't get to vote on his All Star status this year, he could Harris him. I doubt Steinhauer cuts his best DB....but he should.
  21. You bring guys in because they have talent, Up to them to kick the door in. The plan is to play a CDN there, but if you bring in an IMP to compete it is because there might be a sliver of a chance that he seizes the opportunity or maybe finds a different way to stick around.
  22. He's no Lawler for sure, pretty much every CFL receiver save a couple are in the same boat. My point is that he is doing about as well as one should expect from a backup receiver given his limited playing time thus far and that IF he is not playing this weekend it is unlikely it is because the Bombers are unhappy with his play or that somebody else has passed him on the DC. Guy is doing what we are asking him to do. Could it be better? Sure he could be putting up 150 yds a game....is that a realistic ask...not really.
  23. Are we really going to rag on Agudosi in his first handful of starts? Guy has made some big plays for us. If he is out this week, it likely isn't performance related. We gameplan differently for each team we face and maybe the coaches see something that makes them believe McCrae might be the better option this week. The guy is on a 700 yard pace as essentially a rookie playing our 5th receiver spot.
  24. Has a bruised hip. Nothing that will keep him out of a game, but rest is always the best medicine for it.
