  1. Tlusty finally showed up. Was getting worried about him. Full marks to chevy when the guys he picked up at the deadline are the ones making the difference. If it took Pavs losing his job and getting angry to get focused like he is, great. He's playing the best hockey of his career right now.
  2. Yeah they have given themselves a bit of breathing room but not much. If they need ten points to secure a spot that's 5 wins in 9 games. Can they go 5-4?
  3. They say ten more points will seal the deal. Very strong play by this team.
  4. I run a local promotion so I'm a fan! The Canadian Network is a good news/bad news story. Rogers customers get the terrestrial channel plus Over The Top access to the U.S. archives. In Manitoba we only get the channel so the only archival content we get is what's playing on the channel. It's actually better than I thought though. In the US they have to watch the live programming OTT so they risk streaming and buffering issues. We have no such problems.
  5. Well early April is next week so back soon!
  6. Amused to see the whining online about a couple CM that will shortly be gone. Yeah we got lucky with a pretty mild winter overall and the 3rd quickest snow melt in history. But it's still march. Anyone remember April 1997?
  7. Imagine getting Buff, Little, perrault and even Chiarot back at the same time.
  8. I agree. Dont screw around. What would happen if they started hutch and he sucked. Then Pavs sucked tomorrow. or Hutch was amazing tonight but Pavs sucked tomorrow? Way too much second guessing and voodoo science. Play the hot guy. They have chicago coming up and I'd say sure, you use the past as a guide and if you are determined to get Hutch a start or two here, pencil him in for that game and work around it. Pavs tonight. And if he's great your only issue is do you second guess yourself on playing Hutch tomorrow. It's not like Hutch has not proven he can play so Im not overly worried about the idea of starting the "back up" in vancouver.
  9. The first star in fact. 3-0. .970 Save Percentage.
  10. OVI doesnt get the lazy tag for being Russian. I think he's long been considered an anti-Russian in how he plays. He plays big and he hits. Maybe lazy was the wrong word I used...opportunistic might be better. I only noticed him three times during the game. 1) parked at the dot on the PP, never moved, and everyone else funneled shots to him and he always shot even if it was a bad decision 2) streaking down the wing (because he's fast) but Myers usually was all over him 3) lollygagging at the blue line waiting for a lead pass (probably late in the game when they were desperate) He sure looked like a different player when he had the vanilla gorilla hanging all over him. Even switched sides to get away from him.
  11. Great discussion on the Big Show this morning about who starts. Im leaning towards Pavs because he's the hot goalie. If you go with Hutch because the Oilers are "easier" and save the hot goalie for the tougher game I think that sort of thinking can out-smart yourself in the end. And I hate to say it, but if Pavs starts and is great again, this might be the one time you second-guess your "no back to back games" rule. I wouldn't...but I could see the argument.
  12. I've liked Thorbs a lot better on the improved 4th line. What he gives up in talent he makes up for in effort and tenacity. The problem is, if he's the best player on your line, you're in trouble. If he's on your 2nd or 3rd line, you're in trouble. Him with Stemp and O'Dell looked really good.
  13. Thank you for explaining it. If Buff's injury has shown us anything, its the value of Myers. Buff gives you many things and I've said I would love to keep him. But money and ice time come into play when you look at Buff/Myers/Trouba as your ride side D. Myers contract is such that it gives you options and Trouba's age might make it possible to have his ice time increase as an aging Buff's decreases. We're saving money on the left side with only Enstrom making big bucks and hopefully Morrissey slotting in there for a few years of entry level money. A big contract to Buff is doable and Im sure the Jets know exactly what they're plan is.
  14. I wonder about Slater. He's higher on the depth chart than O'Dell at this point. I thought the third line struggled a lot against the Caps (I wasnt watching the game to analyze it but it seemed pretty obvious). The 4th line seemed to play better. Isnt Slater still our top faceoff guy? I wonder if he might be offered a one year deal just to bridge us to when we might have a younger guy ready to fill the spot. I really thought the long term idea was Lowry centering a much better 4th line but Lowry has shown his ceiling is a lot higher. Tlusty is struggling. I like Stemp though. I'd offer him a contract.
  15. They missed their opportunity to charge for excessive internet use (well, they can charge for excessive but I guess I mean deeming regular high usage as excessive). Cant put the genie back in the bottle. There are telecoms actively looking to make "internet everywhere" a reality. Over the Top is the future. Look at traditional channels like HBO now offering their on-demand content separate from a channel subscription. Read the book Netflixed. Amazing story. A lot of people didnt believe in it. Everything will be delivered by internet eventually.
  16. Hold my hand? WTF? You just said that Buff is a luxury and not necessary. Is that not correct? Im not dismissing your opinion... I asked you a question about it. Is that not correct? If i was dismissing it then i wouldnt ask you to clarify it now would i? Lol
  17. Thing about Maher is, he's not a liberal who thinks he's better than cons. He thinks he's better than everyone.
  18. Lol. Lol. Lol. If you spent time reading what people wrote rather then dismissing the opinion of others you'd have answers to your question. It's not my job to hold your hand. Lol.
  19. LOL What do you mean hes a luxury? free or habitual indulgence in or enjoyment of comforts and pleasures in addition to those necessary for a reasonable standard of well-being: a life of luxury on the French Riviera.
  20. Yes the team is better with him in the line up. Which does Not discount anyone's opinion that he's a luxury. Take a deep breath.
  21. Ladd is also not playing with little and wheeler right now. His centre and RW are arguably third line guys. Playing very well....but third line guys.
  22. Yup. Don't get me wrong the cons have idiots in their celebrity wing too. Like rush. But as for liberals I mich prefer a guy like Colbert who still makes fun without seeming like an arrogant child
  23. Maher is awful. He's the new age liberal. Obnoxious and arrogant. Instead of making a good point he makes people believe anyone who doesn't agree with him is just stupid. The fact his position is generally wrong doesn't help.
  24. I actually don't think Minnesota is much more attractive to him than winnipeg as far as playing at home. He's pretty close as it is. To answer the weird question if he wants to retire in here years then great but I sort of doubt it.
