The TV Thread
Just saw Fear The Walking Dead this week. Just awful. Nice twist with the main character but the writing is just so terrible. Dialogue is awful. How characters act is awful. Ugh. Brutal. If TWD didn't already exist this series would already be cancelled.

I'd bet it will never be on CBS. It would have to generate big ratings to warrant airing on the main network in prime time. The fact it's going to be the cornerstone of their streaming service is good news as far as longevity of the series goes. Outside of the premiere episode ofcourse which is huge that it's good to be on CBS.

Bell To Buy MTS
I just sold some shares a few weeks ago unfortinately. But I didn't have many to begin and still have a few read some analysts think it won't be approved. And some saying the sell off to Telus would be more likely to curry favour of it was a sale to SHAW to maintain four strong wireless competitors. But federal liberals are pals with bell. I expect it to pass.

Not a fan. Lame and desperate on Voy part to sex up the show. If you can't write a better show make it a sexier show.

Has that been announced? Im under the impression it would be a more HBO-like 12-13 episode season. But the longer the better...

Lowry played the latter half of the season for the Jets before starting the season. So...I wouldnt say he was handed it. He was a mid-season call up who earned it. Unless Im mis-remembering but I dont think I am

Bell To Buy MTS
Whats this story? I remember thinking that Mind didnt seem large enough for naming rights but I have no idea really.

2016 Lines
Lowry was an injury call up if I recall correctly who earned the spot through really good play at that time. Im not sure who would have beaten out Copp for the 4C role. Laine is considered a player ready to play regardless of which team drafts him. Connor (and Copp) are different in that they cant be sent to junior.

2016 Lines
Are we rushing to get as many 18 year olds as possible into the line up? I would say no. I would say the exceptions like Ehlers dont prove the rule. Plenty of 18-20 year olds not being rushed at all.

He almost single handedly saved Enterprise. And had Enterprise been given a 5th season, he was joining the cast (and starship crew) as a regular). EDIT: When I hear the new series is looking at Tony Todd, its interesting because while he's "okay", there have been some truly great character actors appear on Star Trek over the years. Combs in particular is someone I'd look at casting in any future series. He's going to end up on the series eventually and probably steal the show, so just cast him as a regular off the hop.

Bell To Buy MTS
To be honest, I was surprised MTS kept the naming rights once the Jets came back. My understanding is the rights fees increased substantially when the NHL returned and the benefit to naming rights at an NHL venue is National Advertising and since MTS is a regional provider I assumed they wouldnt feel the cost was worth it. So I was surprised. For Bell, it makes sense but more so to advertise Bell. So if I had to bet, they would change it to Bell MTS Centre as soon as they could. But it will depend on their strategy for the MTS brand. If the sale goes through, they are actually reducing MTS' market share for competitive reasons so they will be battling Rogers, Telus and SHAW. The MTS brand might give them an edge with loyalty. You'd have to assume the long term plan is to eventually have Bell supplant MTS.

Interesting... so over-achieving one year gets you canned the next...

It wont change for a long time, if ever.

If Laine is to play LW, I keep coming back to Laine-Sheif-Wheeler if only because that line would be incredibly fast and big. Probably not the best use of "balance"...but man, it would be fun to watch.

Bell To Buy MTS
Not a chance. They make money off of naming rights. True North wouldnt lose out on the money to name it after itself. Be thankful. It could be calling Jobing.Com or something equally as stupid. MTSC is actually a pretty good name (local business, easy to say/remember). Bell Centre would be fine too. If Bell keeps the MTS brand long term, I imagine it eventually becomes Bell MTS Centre and we all just keep calling it MTSC anyway. CanWest Global Park switched to SHAW Park when that sale happened (and we dodged a bullet because the original naming rights went to Mind Computer products and the park was to be called Mind Field...but the deal fell apart thankfully because that name was a one-note joke that played itself out rather quickly!

The Bullet Club were sort of nWo rip offs (or homage, if you will). So they started using it. To actually do the symbol and touch fingers is called "Too Sweet". ie. "Too Sweet me, bro". Based on the nWo catch phrase of "Too Sweet". When the Bullet Cub (primarily Young Bucks) began selling T Shirts with the hand gesture on it, WWE invoked a copy write on it. But WWE actually "stole" it from some sports teams that used it for years. If I understand correctly, WWE can trademark it for clothing sales but cant stop anyone from actually doing it. And they dont seem to have an issue with their own Bullet Club guys doing it.

True. I guess I love a good story of redemption. They did sort of give that story to Dukat's right hand man..cant remember his name. He was an alcoholic who rose to the occasion and defended Cardassia against the Dominion.
