Nothing better supports this then the year we made the playoffs. We got a .920 season out of a career .907 guy. There shouldn't be any excuses anymore to not get that, or close to it, from Helle & Elliot/Mason/Bernier etc.

Manitoba alone is 7 times bigger than Scotland. With 1/5 of the population. Crazy. I roadtripped from Wpg to Fernie 2 summers ago, and had a great time. Stayed with buddy's cousin in Regina night #1, provincial park night #2, buddy's on-the-ranch job south of Pincher Creek night #3 and the rest in BC. Only disappointment was not having enough time to make it all the way out west.

Eh don't know about that. I'm not expecting an outright top 4 D in his prime - maybe he's 30 about to hit his downside, maybe he's 21 and just now about to be an NHL regular. I'd gamble with either scenario over the combo of Chairot, Stuart, Postma etc on their own. I'd trade Dano to Vegas for Schlemko for example, or Petan & 24 for Theodore. I don't see either being far-fetched. We know VGK has too many D. I'm with you re: next year being huge. Hope vs. expectation thing I guess. At some point the new core needs to experience winning, rather it be sooner than later.

Better not be. What a let down that would be. I just wouldn't get the logic. We're ripe with young FW's and only so many spots for them to fill. This still feels odd to me at face value. I can't be the only one seeing at least 3-5 better D than Toby who are unprotected and/or protected but rumoured to be traded to VGK, like Shea Theodore. ..almost makes you wonder, ahem, if Toby's value is a lot higher than many here think.
