  1. If the guy doesn’t break his flipping arm in the Eastern Final he likely wins the Cup. He must be doing something right for teams keep signing him.....even if it is as a depth guy. He is a team guy, a good role model to younger players and a quality person.
  2. Depth is critical at any and all positions. But especially at QB. Historical analysis will reveal that the likelihood that any QB is going to play 18 games is pretty remote. So be a fan of whomever you like be it team or player but I believe that this team needs an upgrade at 2 and 3.
  3. The hate continues for Sask....so be it. It maybe a hefty price but right now I would take their QB depth over ours. Still a significant concern.
  4. Remember it is early.....mini camp is the next test before TC
  5. This team needs a legitimate 2nd string QB.....plain and simple. Durant is going to get a deal somewhere heavily based on playtime. I won’t be surprised if that is back in Mtl. That still remains his best opportunity to get either the starting job back...or the most playtime. He has to realize that Wpg only gets him PT if Nichols goes down.
  6. Edm will likely take Glenn over LeFleour or Davis wouldn’t you think. Wpg needs a better back up plain and simple.
  7. Guessing Grymes is done chasing the NFL and will stay put in Edm.
  8. Any challenge for illegal contact....not saying it should even be allowed should only be possible on a play involving the intended receiver. The junk 50 yds away from where the ball is thrown is embarrassing.
  9. Not sure what the agent thinks his magical about a Feb. 1st deadline? At last report he sits for the year if the CFL seems he has received a legitimate offer.
  10. When other MLBs in the league are making 8-10 tackles per game and stuffing run plays at the LOS......there is a measuring stick as to what Wpg needs.
  11. Part of the issue with helmet to helmet ejection is having to make a determination if the ball carrier or QB ducks his head immediately prior to impact. This then results in helmet to helmet. If you can determine intent I am open for potential ejection.....tough call at full speed.
  12. I’m guessing that was the plan, similar to Franklin in Toronto. It would seem the proactive teams are generally more successful. The reactive teams not so much. Everyone is anxious to see what FA brings.
  13. The only issue I have with scaling back challenges is when teams are forced to use their challenge on a call that was clearing incorrect by the officials. I don’t mean a judgement call or illegal contact. I guess the other question is why can’t some of those erroneous calls be corrected. By the eye in the sky official?
  14. While I agree that Hiring Younger is a good move declaring him as the heir apparent as DC might be a little premature. This surely is a pivotal year for the entire staff.
  15. Sometimes you just can’t win.......fire coaches and you are accused of instability and lacking patience.......keep people and you are accused of being too loyal and afraid to change. Time will tell.
  16. Can I move that this topic now be closed as it has been declared as FAKE news?
  17. Can I get an amen brothers and sisters......if that is the GMs, scouting, player personnel or whomever’s responsibility JUST DO IT enough is enough. Thanks Mike for that.
  18. The successful Bomber HCs of the past, Murphy, Riley, Ritchie.....hired great experienced assistants and let them coach. No the attitude seems to be hire young guys and micro manage them. Your OC doing multiple jobs, and now your HC doing HC, ST and now “helping with the defence”. Judgement day is upon this crew.....I hope it works out because if it does not it will be difficult to justify not making significant changes.
  19. Rotator cuff surgery for a QB, similar to Ray’s situation. Not likely ready for the start of the regular season. Not something you want to screw around with for your franchise QB.
  20. It ultimately about which teams take significant steps to improve be it: Trades, scouting, drafting, and coaching. Making no decisions, and hoping things improve or change is like hoping the other teams either do the same or make bad decisions. Early indications are that other teams are changing.
  21. Not sure the issue here is about anyone’s short yardage ability, this truly is about having a viable back up QB.
  22. I guess the Bombers don’t see it as necessary to announce that their DC or any other coach that is already under contract for 2018 is returning for 2018.
  23. Interesting comment about Heath freelancing and guys having to cover for him. Does that help explain some big play blown coverages. Here I thought it was all the DCs fault and poor schemes?
  24. You should be able to train your pet whatever to run short yardage. Not sure that is a skill set to keep anyone on a roster. What about the other 85 offensive plays he might need to play in a game.
