  1. Where does the national media say that the Bombers are still whe worst possible team a coach can go to? You have to live outside Winnipeg & the Province like I do to really know how they feel. That's ridiculous! Ever heard of the Internet? You tell me where you live represents the "National" media? The post was BS!

  4. Interesting Article about the Alouettes and the Reb Blacks http://www.cfl.ca/article/moffat-popp-ready-for-whatever-ottawa-draft-throws-at-him
  5. His defensive philosophy is "bend but don't break". It works, but personally I hate it. I would much rather have Noel Thorpe's defense in Montreal, but that's just me. Here is an "oldie" that talks about Stubler and O'shea http://www.cfl.ca/article/landry-stubler-s-defence-looks-familiar-to-argos
  6. Miller in my mind hasn't accomplished a great deal, but I'll give him credit for accomplishing two things: The fan base is excited again about the Bombers, and we have hired an HC from outside of the organization that we are receiving praise for from other CFL cities. Guess you kind of forgot about beefing up the scouting staff with good people, and making Walters the "official" GM
  7. When Miller was first hired, he said he likes to work fast, and that next year's Blue Bombers would not resemble last year's. I'll take a CEO any day that has accomplished what Miller has accomplished in a short period of time, and ditto for Kyle Walters. For the first time in a long time, there's a lot of hope for this team. Without hope, what do you have?
  8. None of us know at this point how the hiring of Miller by the Board and the subsequent hiring of Walters by Miller will work out. To me...the recent hires, and the obvious desire to change things and not maintain the status quo, are all steps in the right direction. It would also seem to me that those criticizing the present Board, might want to reconsider, seeing as it would appear the Bombers are moving in the right direction. For the first time since last season I am optimistic.
  9. And now we have a GM who is fully cognizant of the fact that we need to upgrade our NI talent and has excellent connections in that regard...but...some folks on here don't seem to realize the benefit of that.
  10. Oh give it a rest...is that all you have in that small noggin of yours?
  11. Because it creates the conditions for a toxic environment. Hire someone to do a job, a job where that person needs to make decisions, and undermine their decision-making by pressuring them to make the decision you want them to make while you are basically holding a gun to their head (employment-wise). That's not necessarily true...there are all sorts of different scenarios of that both in business and sports management. At the moment Miller is running at least two successful businesses, he has hired people to run them, and if he were sticking his nose in and preventing them from operating...they would not be around long..but they have been. There are also different scenarios involving teamwork at the top...so it definitely does not have to be cut and dried as some are indicating. Which is exactly why I said it creates the conditions for a toxic environment. If you have a solid management structure, collaboration can work. If you have the mess of an organization we've have for decades, it probably won't. Collaboration works when there are defined roles and responsibilities in a supportive environment. When you make it well-known that you will be involved with football operations and cut a key for a novice manager, it doesn't look good. It may not look good considering the state of the bombers last year. But things are changing, and certainly doesn't mean they have to stay like that. Give it a chance I say!

  13. Personally I want them to trade Burke for Collaros
  14. His teams also lost in more than one playoff game, and he's been out of the on field part, as far as connections go...for awhile. He tuned into the reffing part.
  15. I think if you look at Willy's stats he did pretty well for limited playing time...having sad that Collaros for me first, but would like to have them both. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/league/pdf/en/stats/2013/Saskatchewan_Offensive_Stats_W19_2013112921.pdf
  16. And how do you know that O'Shea qualified for "true leadership"?
  17. I'm thinking Noel Thorpe should be included in the conversation, he has more experience coaching than O'Shea. He really improved that defence this year, and the guys played for him.
  18. Yes they are out of line. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes at the moment...but you keep harping about the GM not knowing what is going on. Give it a rest already!
  19. Because no one is getting hired yet...hold your horses!!!
  20. By that logic, Ricky Ray would have never been traded. The logic is different..we're talking about Tillman! Logic is the same, the only difference would be the reasoning behind it. Tillman thought he could get some assets he didn't have and get the same result without the flashy stats. Popp wants to surround himself with his guys. Obviously felt enough about Berry to bring him in last year as a consultant. If the reasoning is different then so is the logic. You really have no idea what Tillman was thinking or Popp for that matter.

  22. Why is it perplexing? There could be a number of reasons why he wasn't there. Maybe he's out on a CIS scouting trip or something. Seems to me this is another instance where people are reading too much into something. An announcement like this is pretty important to be here for if you ask me. It's hard for me to think that some sort of scouting trip or anything would be conflicting with the timing of this. who the hell cares who makes the announcements, as long as someone makes them and takes action. Who cares if Miller forms a management TEAM where they actually discuss things together and put together a plan so they are all on the same page. This business of this guy can only do this, and the other guy can only do that, is really a joke. There are plenty of big organizations where things are done collectively at the top. What really matters is what product is on the field. I know some of you are worried that Miller will have too much power....why don't you just wait and see, rather than worrying about something before it happens, that you have no control over anyway.
