JJ was part of that awesome D effort that shut down Montreal's receivers. He deserves some credit.

I think Johnson is getting crapped on a bit too much... but that being said I am a HUGE Sears fan and at this point JJ is probably the weakest link in the secondary and getting Sears in at his expense might just happen.... Dunn has been really good in these first two games, coming out of nowhere to look like a good fit at that position. Parker as well seems to be fitting in nicely at LB and all those questions we all had about the position seem to be going away.

I was a KG supporter before he left, and I still think that was a mistake back then, but that was several years ago.

I don't think that there is much future in KG, and I think that the cost would be too high to bring him in.  He is nearing the end of his career, and I don't see a big benefit here.

I also believe that too many people put too much on the QB, and overlook the faults of others.  Buck was inconsistant last night, no question, but he is not solely responsible for the offensive ills.  He personally had a fumble, and threw a pick (off a deflection).  The other turnovers couldn't logically be placed on him, and those turnovers killed drives.   Our RB's didn't do a good job of picking up the blitz.  Matthews didn't have his strongest game either, and dropped catchable footballs.

IMHO, I'd stick with Buck, and continue to rotate Goltz in to run some wildcat to continue his development.  Virtually every #2 in the league last year got a start at some point in the season, so developing a #2 is critical.

At this exact moment, Buck is the best we have. He proved it last night with some really tough throws. Couple of side-arm bullets over the middle, the one to Denmark on the goal line, and the from-the-bootstraps bomb to Kohlert were all pretty tough throws. He fought off the blitz pretty good, for the most part.

I'm willing to wait till Labour Day and see where the offense is at. I personally expect Buck/Crowton to have this thing getting better each week...incrementally...

    esp under pressure.

Matthews had a bad night, he could have made a few receptions that he didn't.

Cornish & Harris are as good as any American backs in the CFL or better so if they can play then they are ratio breakers. Free to play an American somewhere else. That's why so valuable.

I would've happily left earlier to catch an earlier bus. Instead, I got there for the first bus on the schedule and still saw them all pass by. And I also tend to not complain about anything -- I hate it how whiny people get in this city. But when I pay for tickets and can't get to the stadium until over a quarter of the game is done -- even though I tried to follow the Bombers' and Winnipeg Transit's schedules and give myself extra time just in case -- that's a bit frustrating.

(At the same time, it's an exhibition game, and I care so little about them that I might've even skipped it had it not been in a new stadium. So I'm not really mad or demanding refunds or any of that crap. But I was still frustrated yesterday, especially when it could've been avoided with some proper foresight.)
