  1. I suppose there is an argument that it wasn't really a fluke. When a pattern emerges (Poor offensive showing in Grey cups) is it still a fluke? We could probably discuss this all day. All that matters is the team that went 15-3 will have another shot at shutting the doubters up in 4 short (please be short) months!!
  2. I just don't see how that would work. It's time for other players to get an opportunity. Bailey was a very solid piece to the last 3 year run. But he isn't irreplaceable.
  3. A part of the FIFO culture is being accountable. No excuses. No ifs ands or buts. I have a hard time believing that calling a loss a fluke or belittling the opponent would fit in the with FIFO stuff. That's super fandom ****, and while I certainly partake from time to time, it's not something I have ever seen from someone in the locker room. To clarify I'm not equating praise for our team as belittlement of others.
  4. Take a look at the entire discussion. He didn't start really sticking up for his squad until AFTER posters were going on and on about it being a fluke and how much more superior the losing team was. Eventually people are going to push back. The Bombers were far and away the better team during the regular season. But this idea that they were some how the better team in the GC and lost doesn't sit with me. Better teams don't lose, the circumstance rarely matters. It certainly didn't in the GC. Bombers shat the bed Argos out played them and the results showed. Did I miss something? Lol. I'm assuming you missed his posts about how they're still going to be a top 2 team? I'm not trying to play hero, but your recollection of what he posted is bizarrely off.
  5. He would certainly put a lot of pressure on my "2021 defence was once in a life time" comment.
  6. 1st rounder for sure....but starting OL...that's a tough one for me lol. Maybe Gray...lol
  7. They kinda have with Wilson getting better. But I know, the LB depth and DL depth are a concern for me right now.
  8. I'm torn honestly. That 3rd down QB isn't really a development position for the Bombers it seems. We have the next guy in Brown (ideally). We need someone who is good at the sneak...Pipkin is a big body with experience. I don't want him starting. But I don't really want a young guy to have to learn sneaking on the fly either...
  9. I think it's wishful thinking the Bombers are even interested in Bailey. There just isn't the room for him.
  10. Which is why I said, you basically said it. I know you didn't say those exact things. But you'd be dishonest to say you weren't using that number as a slight on him.
  11. fair enough. I'll say he was on a DL with the league leader in sacks as well. My point about sacks being subjective is that as a player you can rack them up, and that could be a result of another player bringing a lot of pressure.
  12. Agreed. My point was...so are sacks. I don't think saying basically "he only got 6 sacks" and then following it up with basically "Highest amount of QB pressures in league isnt as important because pressures are subjective" is an effective argument. Especially when we basically all sat here saying the opposite about Jefferson last year.
  13. Orimolade is a very very good DE. Will he be worth the money...? I'm betting yes honestly. And I'm sorry but you can't "6 sack player + a subjective stat like pressures" As if sacks themselves aren't also subjective. Pressures can be just as good if not better than a sack. It's absolutely an important stat and I'll remind everyone that we talked about Jefferson's ability to get pressure on the QB and that it was used as a reason why it was ok he wasn't piling up the stats last year. As in, "He's not getting the sacks, but he's moving the pocket, getting in their face" etc etc. Right now, I'd have a hard time ignoring a straight up DL for DL trade with the argos.
  14. I get the concern about the age, I'm not entirely sold on it being valid. I suppose time will tell. If they had gone 10-8 and just gotten into the playoffs. I'd probably feel the same. But we saw the best win record in team history last year. That should leave reason for optimism in and of itself. To the bolded part - I think a lot of people really don't understand what that team was. I fully believe had a full season been played they would hold the best record in franchise history. Anyone who expects that type of team AGAIN...will forever be disappointed. I fully believe that team (especially the Defence) was a once in a lifetime thing. The Bombers and the CFL won't see something like that for decades. I'm obviously a homer...but the stats speak for themselves. There isn't a team right now that will even come close to doing what that Defence did. So if being better than arguably the best defence of all time is your metric, I can understand why you're disappointed.
  15. Looks like Ryhmes got what he wanted out of BC. Just announced an extension.
  16. no no, instead they made CFL mix tapes stop producing highlight reels. Cause why let a young person help your brand grow? Their core fans are approaching retirement age, they don't need no kids liking the CFL!!!!
  17. Was so frustrating listening to him fawn over Rourke last year. Especially his inability to understand that half a season of work isn't more impressive than a full season of work.
  18. Sankey turned the latest rider offer down. Would have made him 2nd highest imp LB in the league
  19. Seeing reports that Stove is going to hang em up, on Twitter. That'd be a blow to the Lions and the CFL in general. Hope it's just a rumor. Love watching that guy play football.
  20. But it's still not officially the team. The only announcements I've seen from an actual team are the ones when they're re-signing their own players.
  21. Are teams announcing this? I've seen 3down and other media people, but I can't recall a team actually doing it. The agreements are not binding at all, like not even a little. Any player can change their mind at any point until the contract is signed. The tampering window was only made a thing officially, because everyone knew it was happening unofficially. CFL made it a thing, which is smart imo, as we're talking about the CFL for the past 6 days or so AND we will be talking about the CFL once FA starts. Basically added another week of mostly positive CFL news.
