Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
MOBomberFan replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Really just a little? Here you go. Need any help moving them goalposts? Hahaha https://www.sportsnet.ca/nfl/video/nathan-rourke-grateful-for-time-in-cfl-but-nfl-has-been-his-goal-since-day-one/ --- When did being competitive and self-assured become character flaws? Believing in yourself and not compromising on your goals? Good for Rourke and all the other Canadians in the NFL that we aren't upset about! Any player with enough talent explores and exhausts every single path to the NFL they can find. Look at Brady. Look at Tyrell Ford. This isn't new or unique to Rourke. It's not til the door firmly slams shut that guys accept the CFL as their next best destination; Rourke has his foot in the door still. If anyone is tired of the CFL being a distant second option for every football player ever born then wow have I got bad news for you. Doesn't stop the CFL from being way more fun to watch and be a fan of, even with dogshit offenses. Rourke will be back in the CFL in time and maaaan would I love for the Bombers to acquire him, not just for his top-tier talent.... but for all the backpedaling that would occur here! Oh and for the record, Tre Ford the "pure Canadian QB" tried out with Vegas and New England... he wanted to be in the NFL, too... Tre Ford only wishes he could be on a PR in the NFL right now -
Sure, absolutely. Hope we can get there one day. Til then this could help more than half of all Canadian families, those who need it most (those under 90k without private coverage). Putting off dental care leads to much worse issues in a hurry, preventative care being put off by lower income earners is a strain on everyone. This is a very good program. Not sure how any reasonable human can look at this and call it a sham when you consider the good that could come of it for even a second.

The average family income in Manitoba is less than 90k before taxes, and plenty of people make it work with less than that. Roughly half of Manitoban families will qualify. That's pretty big. This is a good thing for a lot of people that could use the assist.

2023/2024 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season News

The Challenger and Apollo 1 were also rocket ships... -
Holm with the pick was a high point for me. The goal line stand was a pretty sweet team effort. Not saying it justifies his rostering but seeing the seal lead blocking on Brady's first TD was fun given the circumstances. Lawler did come to play and did all he could. Apparently to makes excuses be scapegoats for star players laying eggs in championship games

A big part of a player's job is to focus and execute. Is there a single player that could say it's Mike Oshea's fault they didn't play better? Maybe the injured guys that shouldn't have been cleared to begin with. Anyone else can blame themselves for their own mistakes.

Imagine getting beat by a career 3rd stringer

I heard he was a great guy, but obviously not much of an eye for talent. You were a man among boys, you got did dirty, it's a crying shame

Why though?

Call it what you want … you need to move on from Collaros
MOBomberFan replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Our players didn't suddenly turn old and tired when they landed in HAM, yet virtually the same roster of old tired players with limited rotation put BCs season to bed with little to no sign of fatigue a week before. Our redzone turnovers were incredibly costly and it's a big stretch to blame them on fatigue. Our stars failed to execute all at once. So many points left on the field. -

I can only speculate. Maybe Eli couldn't read a defense in film as consistently as Kola? Maye O'Shea has multiple love affairs? He's a busy guy not sure how he makes the time. Honestly, I don't know? Is it easier to believe O'Shea has a love affair with numerous men on his roster or that Kola has some redeeming qualities beyond his wicked beard and hair? Eli looks promising. Whether anyone agrees with me that Kola played better than reported here is beside the point, we surely at least agree Eli is the future, until proven otherwise -

Tui Eli isn't going anywhere, he is under contract through 2025, he's plainly been the heir apparent since the day he was signed. Kola's contract is expiring. It seems obvious to me Eli is getting the job at C barring any unforeseen extensions or FA signings. It's been the plan for a while it seems to me -

Making it to the big dance is an accomplishment in itself, can't take that away... but it's a hollow victory. I hated all my silver medals -

Kola was only signed through '23 last I saw, not sure what assets we could get for a pending FA. I'd be shocked to see the Bombers bring him back though, Eli is clearly the plan for the future with time on his contract I've defended Kola plenty, imo he's not as bad as he's often accused of being around here (and pretty much only here), but last night his size was exposed, a big body like Eli probably doesn't get muscled around like and we probably don't give up that first sack. -
Nice. 70 correct picks would have just been showing off anyhow.

If the crossbar steps up like it did in 2019 we are sipping champagne but alas Jesus sprinkles had enough magic fairy dust in the tank to get it done. One big play, but plenty of opportunity to prevent even being there age old story -
Nobody wants to just be the division champs but this was a good team and there is good reason to remain optimistic. Look around the league, I'm not trading coaches or rosters with anyone. Gpas here and there, who can;t say the same? See how the offseasons goes and take it from there

Ever the optimist. I'm resilient or a bit drunk or both. Someone needs to fill the void spuds left behind. -
I mean there's a half dozen guys that helped put us in a position 7 other teams wish they were in so how full is that glass exactly?

Woli underthrow o the corner was a tough one to watch. He's been running into the pressure a lot lately, he Faj'd more than Faj did as the season went on -
Half those guys replacements already on the roster more than likely. Reload not rebuild. We will be back.

Jeffcoat a stud 2/3 of the year anyways. Still worth it.

Punter was ROTY nominee... what a crop of newcomers... be better next year
