  1. Statistics don't tell the full story. Sometimes you use other advanced evaluation tools..... like the right and left eyeball. I "see", so far that.....we don't move the ball, when Brohm is in, too many turnovers, and the other players on O look somewhat uninspired. Also "see....." that Marve actually moves the ball, somewhat....although not in the classic fashion, his style provides a change up.... and Mave does appear to give our other players a bit of a lift.. This "trend" started last year, and continued through the x-season. That said....Mavre is a walking impro act, at this point, runs at the drop of a hat, and rarely sets his feet to make a throw. This is why he is a "future" guy, requiring grooming. Brohm, on the other hand, is a 7 year pro. Also factoring in his age......he has to be a "now" guy.....or there is no real point to keeping him around. Up till "now".....Brohm has not gotten it done. If this changes, more power to him, and the coaching staff, who clearly believe in him.... If not, the tipping point should come sooner, than later
  2. Maybe the rational posters to a degree yes.. But there is ample reasons listed as to why this is.. I'll reinerate again tho.. -marve hurt -brohm is more experienced -brohm is more of a pocket passer These are the 3 that stand out to me as why brohm is ahead of marve at this point.. - when Marve was not hurt....Marve was outperforming Brohm. - Brohm has way more experience, as a pro (7yrs)....which is why he should be held to a higher standard, at this particular point. - more of a pocket passer - does not mean much if the passes fall incomplete or into the hands of the opposition. No agenda here.....if Brohm had to go in on Thurs......I would be rooting for him to do well, and help our team win. After all, he wears the Blue and Gold. It's only that he has been singularly unimpressive, so far - and the idea of further grooming this guy, given age/experience....does not make a lot of sense. As far as Marve needing a bit more grooming/experience...and avoiding Tee Martin Syndrome or something....I would not totally disagree.... People (in general) seem to think that if you are boosting one guy..... by extension...you are automatically denigrating the other..or vice versa... Things are generally more complicated than that.....
  3. Its that the coaching staff appears to have both anointed and sustained Brohm as the #2...despite him accomplishing next to nothing, as a Bomber......that has some of our teeth on edge. Not some pseudo conspiracy....
  4. I take O'Shea's word at face value.....but a little less shutpan, and a bit more clarity, would be useful, in some instances.....
  5. All of this time I thought you were a qualified expert with all the stuff you come up with for "Odds and Sods" and now I find out it was just the gin lubricating your keyboard. That's as good a reason as any to endorse gin, I guess. Just to clarify, I am a unqualified expert....
  6. Also have no idea what it is like to coach and run a CFL offense, or for that matter, a CFL defense. Don't know what it is like to play professional QB, or coach a pro team. Don't even know all intricacies of CFL special teams. As far as being a GM, well, lets not go there. So, in the final analysis..I got nothing... except clean gin and unwashed opinions ....on a Blue Bomber football forum.,..and plan to continue to exercise both.... when and how it strikes me, as appropriate. ps....still think that MB's offense is somewhat noncommittal, featureless, and beige......
  7. There is a balance between developing QBs....and sticking with ones that don't work. Pretty close to a tip point, here....
  8. There were those of us who lobbied long and hard for MB to be replaced in the offseason. Guilty as charged...... MB has been...and is....the absolute defination of mediocre....
  9. Wild is not a natural MLB.....but all-star quality on the outside.....
  10. No suprise.....Greaves has stood out in at least 3 games this year....in a bad way. The suprise is finding out that Neufeld may be a actual player on the field for this team, and not an urban myth......
  11. So if Brohm puts up a FG and throws less than 3 picks....he wraps up the #2 job, for the rest of the year?
  12. Excuse-O-Rama spinning faster than the eye can see.......
  13. Darrin Bauming ‏@DarrinBauming 7h7 hours ago RT Devin Tyler is out this week. O'Shea assured regular starter Jace Daniels (lower-body) will be good to go Thursday night. #Bombers Good..... Tyler was gawdawful
  14. Just...a...little....more.....grooming
  15. 4 days for Brohm to "refine his passing technique"
  16. Rationalty is a curse.....
  17. Brohm is 29 not 31...not that it makes that much difference. The point is why are they trying to develop a QB that old? My bad....but this guy is in his SEVENTH pro season......and is not making it happen. Perhaps he will prove me wrong, but seriously, how much time will he be given to do it?
  18. With all the talk (and hopes) of changing the (losing) culture, round here.........it is time for some actual accountability and responsiblity moving forward.....peoples jobs should really be on the line....about now..
  19. I mentioned Berry based on his stubborn and unwavering faith in Serna. Didn't win a cup and in Berry's last year had the worst kicker in the league by a long shot. It takes ALL phases of the game to win a cup. Sacrifice one phase of the game based on personal loyalty = no cup. Yet berry was the coach who finally had the guts to get rid of horrible Westwood after years of futility. ...and took all kinds of flack for benching a 58% kicker (at the time)
  20. Some of the highly paid Rider vets on both sides of the line, are underacheiving. Throw in the fact that the Rider back 7 is deficient in tackling/coverage, and have nothing behind 38 yr old Glenn.....could be in for long season
  21. Rider fans have same thoughts about Cato......
  22. I asserted last year, that Marcel not had made an case for retention.......we retained him, anyways. We are now supposed to be suprised..... when we cant handle pressure D, or spread the field, and are too predictable in the run game?
  23. Underachieving, over paid vets, no depth, bringing in more aging vets, giving away draft picks........yes, the Taman long-term development plan, is falling into place....
