  1. Obviously Ray is respecting the defense on weakside and forced to picked on the strongside side. Bucknor and Johnson got 6 tackles a piece while Washington and Randle got 3 combined. Is Suber/Alexander combo better than Johnson/Bucknor combo on the strongside?
  2. An additional Nat'l OL, DL and Rec goes a long way.
  3. and he can put people on the shelf....
  4. Obviously impossible to answer that, but the main advantage I would previously have given Collaros is his scrambling ability and how he can extend plays because of it. That advantage still holds true, Willy is not that style of QB, but what Willy can do (which I did not expect - at least at this level) is move around the pocket with great fluidity. He also does not panic when flushed from the pocket. Re-watching the first exhibition game from Toronto I was reminded of Aaron Rodgers when I watched Willy; specifically how he keeps his feet moving while scanning downfield, always resetting so he's in the best possible throwing stance. He doesn't have the same small hops that Rodgers does, but the end result is the same. Find target - fire. Willy can scramble too and he shown that in one play during the first pre-season game. But why utilize the scrambling ability if he can make throws from the pocket. Just reserve it until the time it's actually needed and to surprise defenses.
  5. I was in the Collaros camp up to he signed with Hamilton. Would the Offense look better if Collaros was there instead of Willy? No one knows. All I can say is, after what Willy has shown during the pre-season and last night, I'm glad we have Willy now.
  6. It's really a almost-perfect plan the Bombers have executed last night. No way we can win with Ray if just exchanging TDs. Keeping him off the field is really our only chance, and oh boy, both the O and D worked on that.
  7. Dude, please. Ok, let's bring Hargreaves then . We can pick his brain on what the ReturnBacks are doing. Remember they are unknown since they're not playing in Week 1. Although MarcelB should have a little bit of knowledge about his former OC.
  8. Just watched the highlights from the game last night, anybody here can see if there's no illegal block on that Owen's return TD? I believed it's Miles who made the block on Richardson. http://cfl.ca/video/index/id/97853
  9. Cotton may not be healthy yet. Another guy on the roster who can replace Woods is Bolton. He is slated as RB but he is really a WR and he can return kicks too.
  10. Burke opened his big mouth again this week leading up to the game & took another swipe at his former players but took no responsibility at all for his ineptness as a head coach here & how he really quit on the team. After the seventh or eighth game last season he just mailed it in. Took no responsibility for anything. He deserves all the crap being thrown at him. Just like Mike Kelly does. I actually didn't think of that. That probably was the bulletin board item yesterday.
  11. Brett Carter. Watson was injured last night, so we may see Carter activated for next week. I can see that too. They may need to add another National receiver from the street also. I love to see Jade Etienne back and get accurate passes from Willy. I've been an avid supporter of Woods but I'm not happy with his performance last night. I can see us activating Ford as DI backup RB/KR.
  12. Depending on Watson's injury Walters might pickup Jade Etienne, Taylor Renaud or any free-agent National receiver I actually want to see Jade Etienne receiving accurate passes from Willy Wonder
  13. Mathieu Boulay ‏@MBoulayJDM 9m Jamel #Richardson is in Calgary, but not for the #Als game. The Stamps would like to give him a contract. #CFL ... hmmm, they probably saw the benefit we got from bringing Romby here prior to the Argo's game...
  14. I don't really care how's Burke D will look like... the next time I'll care about it is when we played them (last time) in Week 8... they will probably have some improvements compare to what they showed last night... so does Drew Willy and the O.
  15. that certainly didn't work to their advantage but that shouldn't take away the credit to Drew Willy and the Bombers offense since they took advantage of it.
  16. Btw, who's on the 2-man reserve last night ... Howard and who?
  17. Some things never change... undisciplined bunch... that's Burke's D to you... good thing he's not with us now... And just comparing what I've seen on the sidelines from Burke last year and O'shea last night... it's really night and day While Burke was just staring on the field with the blank face... O'shea is constantly communicating with his assistants... pumping up his guys... and giving tap on their backs... that's a head coach you wanna play for...
  18. hey... why you stealing the phrase from my avatar ? jk
  19. One thing for sure, O'shea knows what kind of media we have in Winnipeg and certainly knows how to play with them.
  20. I can't work Trying to work on Bombers gameday ? but the truth is...... I just wanna go home
  21. Romby should have some inside info on the Argos playbook. Nice timing for this considering we play the Argos tomorrow. The TJ Harris stunt! OK, so just like Harris in Hammy - will will mine Romby for the Toronto playbook. And then shortly thereafter we will release him. Then we should sign RetBacks castoff (LeMarquand or Hargreaves perhaps? ), Tyron Carrier (MTL) and Jacory Harris (EDM)
  22. Tim 'Under-the-Bus Thrower' Burke.
