The more I think about it the more I feel that Gray is the pick. Bombers is not on pressure to start 3 NAT OL this year. They can let Gray go and develop a little bit in the NFL and hope he be back here in a year or two.
A WR (Behar) or a DL would make themore sense in #6.
I think it would be too late (if ever approved) for the CFL to change the schedule and layout the expansion draft.
Not a bad idea though.
And if ever, it will push the Bombers to the East Division.
Here's for Cgy since 2010, for comparison
2010 -
2011 Anthony Parker*
Brad Sinopoli (converted to WR) - a productive WR before he left for Ott
Jared Manchulenko (TE)
2012 -
2013 Yannick Morin Plante
Charlie Power* (converted to FB)
2014 Brian Marshall
2015 Lemar Durant*
2016 Juwan Brescacin*
*still with the team
better than what we have right now
Sadly, I kinda agree with this. Here are the list of WR we drafted since 2010
2010 Watson
2011 Etienne
Mahoney
2012 Aprile
2013 Fitzgerald (converted to FB)
DiCroce
Alli
2014 -
2015 Richards
2016 Vitt
Only Richards is with the Bombers currently and no significant distribution to show so far. Watson is the best we developed out of the 9 guys drafted.
I dont think we need another vet import receiver. Adams-Dressler-Denmark-Stafford is good as our starters. Of course, we need depth but let see what we have with our 2nd-years guys like Sheppard, Duncan and the new comers brought.
If needed be we can always pickup some receivers than will shake up after TC.
I would rather use the caps space gained by Smith's release to try sign Laing. That will definitely improve our D - which is more of a priority.
List of WR/SB/TE taken #1 overall since 1985
1989 Gerald Wilcox TE Ottawa 1991 Nick Mazzoli WR Hamilton 1996 Don Blair SB Edmonton 2007 Chris Bauman WR Hamilton
Obviously Receiver is not a popular pick @ #1 overall . Not saying it not gonna happen though (on Vandervoot @ #1).

My interpretation, they probably has their eyes on Woods, as their #1 for some good reasons (he's big, his got good numbers - combine stats is pretty similar with Bladek, and aside from the fact that he's familliar with Goossen and Chungh, I believe. But one on one changed that.
Again that's just my interpretation.
Boateng is a DE. I don't think it's a priority for us since we have Westerman and Corney on one side and we use import on the other side. Arguably, DT is a must but the Bombers brass feels they have a good ones with Thomas & Butcher.
I think the Bombers will end up with Mason Wood or Dariusz Bladek with the #1. OL is always a safe pick and seems that those 2 OT-prospects are more likely CFL-bound than NFL-bound.
If we ever trade down, I dont want it lower than the Ti-Cats.
Say if we trade down with TiCats, I think #1-3 picks will be... Vandervoort, Woods & Gray. So we still have - Herdman, Bladek & Ankou on #4 as our choices.
Our #1 & #23 for TiCats's #4 & #13?
