  1. Bushwakker statement on the video

    Bushwakker Brewing Company

The Bushwakker has been dragged, reluctantly, into the news recently. Regina is now aware of the events that took place near the Bushwakker on the morning of August 18 and which involved a group of Saskatchewan Roughrider team members. Not only are we Roughrider fans, but the Roughriders bring us business, so we are doubly concerned and hope that this does not deprive Regina of seeing our home team in a home Grey Cup.

Some of those events were captured on two of our security cameras. We want to make it clear that:

    1. Our security cameras were the only aspect of Bushwakker involvement. At the time of the incident the Bushwakker had been closed for over two hours, and, to the best of our knowledge, none of those involved had been in the Bushwakker.

    2. The police investigators came to us asking about the possibility that relevant security footage might be available. We had not viewed that footage and until then were not aware of the incident.

    3. We have not discussed these events with any representatives of the media until now, after charges have been laid.

    4. And FYI, the time stamp on our security system is late by roughly 10 minutes. The events happened at 3:00 AM, not 2:50AM.

It looks like they are trying not to be blamed for the arrests.

  2. Since 17to85 is being a puss and not going, I'm not sure if I'll be at it. The gf wants to go, so we might grab tix at the last minute, but it's always a **** show at McMahon, so who knows. I've sat through so many debacles in there, I'm not sure how many more I can stomach. Dirty beatings every effing time...

I have sat through the last 10 Labour Days I am sure it is not as bad as that is.

  3. I'm no Burke fan, but I'd say that the Banjo Bowl was the first game I've seen this year of Burke out-coaching his opposition.  He and his staff had a great defensive game plan, and at half time, finally, they made some adjustments to the offence that had a positive effect in the third quarter.  Meanwhile, Chamblin left Durant in far too long I thought, as it was obvious that Durant had checked out mentally and was just in survival mode by the fourth quarter.  He was completely ineffective.  And Chamblin's two challenges were both really dumb, I thought.  They weren't even close.  Anyway, I don't expect this out-coaching the opposition trend to last too much longer, though I think it won't take much to out-coach Kavis Reed.  If Reed out-coaches our staff in the next two games, then heads should roll.  The next two games should really show us who is the weaker head coach, Burke or Reed, as right now, in my mind it's still a pretty close race.

Was thinking the same thing last night.

Will be no need for divisions when there is 10 teams in the league. Hopefully one day it will happen.

doesn't it make more sense to have divisions when the team is larger?

also, I'm trying to think back to when Ottawa was in the league last time, was there a  lot of byes with the odd number of teams?

Byes and really weird short weeks.

With 10 teams you would have 2 games against every team to get your 18 games. So no need to have a division.

In fairness to Smith/DA, I've heard from a number of people I'd trust about stuff like this that it's not as bad as it seems.

Without starting too much of a rumor, I heard a number of Riders (more than just Smith and Anderson) were attacked by a group of gang members (including one guy with a bat) outside a club and there was a huge brawl which the Rider players essentially "won" and this one "victim" took a pretty serious beating.

Gang members attacking the Rough Riders in Saskatchewan?  This gang doesn't want to live very long does it?  Seriously, how stupid is that.  This reminds me of the time that Graeme Bell took a bat over the head outside a bar in Saskatoon.  What the hell is wrong with the people of Sask?  Aside from being cousin-raping inbreds of course?

This is going to sound weird in Saskatchewan (imo, anyways) but it was a group of Somalians.

    Makes sense.
