What if we have 6-7 record the rest of the way with Goltz starting every game would you clean house?

Just like when Dunigan had brought in all those awesome QB's in Calgary.but honestly it really showed some of Dunigans ignorance of the situation. He was ranting about making Goltz the starter and threw out the "this guy couldn't get a sniff of playing time last season ahead of Brink or Elliott etc etc" Which is really not true. Burke put in a package specifically to get Goltz playing time as the year went on and came out and said that Goltz was being kept because he felt he was the better option. So that argument from Dunigan kinda falls flat. Too much over reacting without delving into exactly what went on at the qb position and a lot of anger at Buck not being the starter anymore. He seemed quite against that in the segment they did on it.
I don't know why people give Mack such a hard time across the board, really the only place he's failed is in the hiring of his coaches, which is a big failing but it's the same old thing, criticise the real problems no need to invent ones.

Does anybody think the board would have some emergency list tucked away somewhere that would have a group of possible GM candidates that could be used in emergency situation like a mid season firing? I know it would be to much to ask for to have some foresight or preparedness.

I just don't now who could be brought in the middle of the week that would actually make a difference at this point. Would you look to move up Marcus Howell up or Pat Delmonco to OC? Probably not.

Rod Peterson is an idiot. Although our idiot Gary Lawless said this week he would only target Buono, Hufnagle, and Taman. Pretty much guys that would never ever leave there jobs to come here.

I was just thinking when was the last time a Winnipeg QB got 2 + years to learn the Canadian game before making his first start? I guess Danny McManus but that would of been for a injury.

Agree with Mike. If I was Goltz I would be little pissed about that statement. You don't throw a teammate under the bus like that.

Buck's lucky this team thinks enough of him to keep him around. Any other CFL team & he'd have been gone & out of football by now. The team has shown a lot of (misguided) loyalty to the guy over the years with his chronic injuries. He needs to keep his feelings to himself & help out wherever he can as there's not a lot of sympathy out there for a cry baby. Or if he can't do that then he should simply retire & leave.
If this was Dave Ritchie he would of been Kerwin Bell'ed. Walking papers and a thanks for coming out.

I have a feeling this is a precursor to a trade happening.
We couldn't release Buck Pierce. We would only have two quarterbacks. So as of right now he is in a player-coach role for this team.
If we are trying to wean this team off of Pierce, what are our options? We have to get another QB in fast. So either we sign a free-agent and put them on our practice roster or make a trade.
If a trade gets made, Buck would have to be released at that point. I could see this happening.
I would do like the Eskimos are doing with Kerry Joseph. Keep him as the #3 quarterback and let the other two ahead of him develop.
