What's with the flip flop? You've always been a huge Burris supporter in the past.

Pav is starting to lose, back to Hutch ...
Atomic replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I didn't post it for the stats, I posted it to show that shot quality is not as irrelevant as some would have you believe. What you don't realize is that because shot quality pokes a big hole in Corsi/Fenwick reliability, the advanced stats supporters have been fighting against recognizing shot quality for years and trying to make it seem illegitimate. But the numbers say different. And there are intangible factors at play as well. A goalie playing behind a better team has more confidence, which allows him to play better. Again, common sense. -

Yeah they have been better, Halak played for Montreal and the Blues, while Hiller spent his career with the Ducks. You don't think that makes a difference?Talking save percentage. Not goals against average. So? Quality of shots against makes a difference... a goalie playing for Edmonton will naturally have a lower save percentage than one playing for Anaheim. Just common sense. That's not correct. Worse teams typically give up more shots on goal but the quality of shots is an incorrect assumption.lol based on what? Some online article from 2 years ago by a 19 year old stats student? You need to consider your sources. Shot quality makes a huge difference and there are several people doing research into it right now. It is ignored to some degree by the advanced stats crowd because they can't quantify it easily, but make no mistake, the difference is there.GAA is widely accepted as a team stat and save percentage is considered an individual goalie stat. And if you want to consider the eye test, well I can tell you over the past few years Pavelec typically lets in one soft goal per game and his technique and positioning is considered terrible. Eye test is irrelevant because you have no idea what you're talking about. "Widely accepted" doesn't fly with me. "Widely accepted" just means the majority believe what someone told them and repeat it like parrots. Read the downloadable PDF found here: http://hockeyanalytics.com/2012/02/defense-independent-goaltender-ratings/ You might learn something. -

The term "league average goalie" keeps getting tossed around. What's the criteria? Greater than a certain save percentage? What's the mark? -

I wonder if we could snag Kienan Lafrance in the 4th round. That would be a great pickup. -

How does one go about becoming a professional wrestler? -
With Stoudermire, Randle, and Bucknor, there is just no room for Burnett. Maybe at field HB he would have a shot at replacing Bruce Johnson but IIRC the Esks tried Burnett at HB and it didn't work out. He will sign with Ottawa.

I honestly think Peach is the better DE. I believe he could put up double digit sacks in Richie Hall's system.
-
We already have lots of American DL. I wouldn't expect too many more on the roster before training camp unless they are planning on cutting some loose. Maybe 2 or 3 new ones. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if Peach is still starting for us, but Vega's spot should be up for grabs.

Could we perhaps move the 15th for two of Calgary's third rounders? Would this be a sound decision? -
Nobody is judging him by one play, it's just a funny video that had to be posted. It is one of the first things that comes up on Google when you search his name.

In what universe did Byfuglien have one side defended??? He was out of the play. Being able to tap a guy with the end of your stick from 3 feet behind doesn't mean one side is defended. -
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has signed International offensive tackle Zebrie Sanders. Sanders (6-6, 320, Florida State, December 4, 1989 in Columbia, South Carolina) was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft, after spending from four seasons with the Florida State Seminoles. He was on the Bills injured list in 2012 and was released in training camp of 2013. Sanders started 50 career games at Florida State, the second most in the history of the school. He was selected All-ACC Conference as a senior in 2011.

Definitely not a Pavelec supporter myself but gbill you clearly do not understand what it means when people say a goalie is out of position. If a goalie bites on a deke on a breakaway, that is not the time to say he was out of position. That is just not the correct use of that term. -

I thought it was fantastic from start to finish. The ending was incredible. That was a really, really good Wrestlemania. -
C'est incroyable

Never mind "hit of the year", Byfuglien has the whole "top 5 hits of the year" locked up.... maybe top 10.
-
Last year's draft was extremely very weak for all positions. Teams need to restock across the board. It will come down to supply and demand. Is the top tier of OL that much better than the second tier this year? We'll see. But the drop off from the top 3 receivers to the rest could be huge, so teams will want to jump on them early.
-
Everything changes after the main combine. That's when you see guys like Henoc Muamba and Mike Edem shoot up everyone's draft board. I have a feeling the first round won't be anywhere near as OL-heavy as people might think. The Bombers will have a great shot at a top 5 OL with the 11th pick and they should use the second overall on Nic Demski.

Still seems a little pricey to me. I'm like you in that I generally only watch the big PPVs. But I also usually share the costs of those with other people. If that is not an option for you then 11.99 is not so bad. I would probably also watch the other PPVs if I had the WWE network so as long as you watch those you are getting your money's worth. I'd also like to see more NXT so that would be a bonus. If it was like 5.99, I would be all over it.
