I can go to multiple message boards and find people who think they would make a better GM/coach than people who do it professionally but it doesn't make it remotely true. Anyone saying Hellebuyck can't be blamed for letting in five goals is just being willfully ignorant. He absolutely got hung out to dry a few times but he simply had to be better if he wants to make the team. I don't get why some people want to give young guys a pass for every mistake. The team is in the business of winning games, not coddling kids. If a player isn't yet good enough to play in the NHL night after night, then he should be in the AHL.

I saw that video and to me it's not conclusive that it was him. It really looks like it but it also looks like it may have come from someone in front of him. And what's more, is that even the same beer that landed on the turf... we don't see that part. This beer may have also been thrown but landed short of the wall. We can't tell from the video. I hope the police have access to better footage.

I've seen the cups vs cans argument a few times now and it doesn't really make any sense to me. He could easily have had a cup of beer and a can. Seems like the weakest possible defence.

I'm not a huge fan of either Chiarot or Stuart but what has Morrissey done to earn a spot? Likewise with Copp vs Lowry. Has Copp been so much better than Lowry that you keep him up on a 2-way deal instead of Lowry on a 1-way? Seems to me they've been pretty even. I think you're overreacting. Declaring the team to be in contention for the next first overall pick because of some 50/50 decisions on bottom-of-the-roster spots. These decisions aren't going to determine the success of the team.

Is Melchiori an option? He is a solid stay-at-home defenceman, might fit in well as the #7 guy or on the third pairing.
