It figures that Nate would go ahead and compare this to what happened in Southern Alberta last year......where the entire downtown of Calgary was under water, never mind nearly the entire city of High River! The sheer volume of water that consumed those places, vs some melting issues on a new building......I'd call it a crass comparison at the very least. Least surprising thing ever from MJB...

Lots of tall DBs...but tall DBs who can play are the rare commodity. Even rarer because the tall ones who can play are in the NFL. If we can find one that can maybe be coached up...that would be something.

As someone who has worked as controller for companies that need advertising, I can tell you I hate contra. Rather pay and be paid. Absolutely...any good media outlet despises contra and avoids it when they can. You always prefer a cash transaction. Sometimes, however, situations dictate extreme measures. In this case, it's necessary.

Rich is right -- it's what, in media, we call "Contra"....a barter system of sorts. And because the whole thing is an advertising expense, it's all a write off. This is definitely the case...no question.

There was a rumour awhile back about WBB FC teaming with True North to offer a special "2-for-1" ticket option for both events, so you could have the same seat for both. I would definitely be down for that...

After finally reading this, I have come to the conclusion that I really hope the players do hold out for everything they want. It's time to bring some balance to the equation, because the owners have way too much power, as it stands now. Sure the CFL owners don't make money, but virtually all pro sports teams lose money. Nobody buys one to make money...you buy one because of the "prestige" factor of being able to say you own a pro sports team, and usually it's a tax write off for them. So it's not like it's just CFL owners in this situation. I hope the CFL players get a massive raise out of this.
