  1. Boy do I want to see Cauchy whiff on a tackle and then fall down while in pursuit...please let that happen. He likely won't see the field unless he's on Teams....
  2. One thing worth mentioning is that the weather is going to be the shits for Saturday. Rain all day. Could make for a sloppy, mistake-filled affair...
  3. Nick Moore Good answer, kid...
  4. Be interesting to see if they heavy on the right side to try and pick on Tyler....extra blitz pressure...
  5. As usual, we'll be making the trip up from Calgary/Olds. As long as we're not down 49-0 at the half, we'll call the excursion a win compared to last year...
  6. Tyler in for Daniels is the only thing that worries me a bit. That stuff on the DL can't possibly hurt us....gotta think, if anything, it can only make us better...
  7. I don't know what the definition of "long period of time" is, but Scotty and Stan Bowman have both seen that kinda success...
  8. LOL!! This is just fantastic....
  9. Taman never made one coaching change in Winnipeg that he wanted to. It's been stated over and over that Dave Ritchie was fired, it was because Bauer wanted him gone. Ritchie was Taman's mentor and best friend in football. Then, when Bauer finally had his chance to get Mike Kelly in, he dropped the foot on both Taman AND Berry.....anything to the contrary is ridiculous.
  10. Other than Ritchie.........who he was forced to fire by Lyle Bauer............?
  11. Over 70 years old and when was the last time the Devils were any good and/or had a good draft.....?
  12. Yes it's all a conspiracy, started by those evil Winnipeg reporters. It's only going to "galvanize" them. Right. And when they go 0-5, 0-6, and then 0-7 they will be so galvanized they will be statues. hate to say it but if we go 0-6 I hope we do go 0-7 then cc won't survive the bye week. Hate to have him sneak into bye week on a one game winning streak only to have Taman say "I think Corey is really turning things around" Taman's a survivor, always has been. If he starts to feel that he's in trouble, he'll drop CC in a heartbeat. And then, to continue the pattern, right after will come the "Taman's hands were tied. He was just doing what Corey wanted" stuff. As evidenced by all the people he fired to save his own ass here in Wpg??
  13. A shame. CW was a great Blue Bomber and a consummate pro. Feel bad for the guy, no question.
  14. Didn't Barron Simpson have a title also. Barrin wasn't here during that time....but he was The Minister Of Defence on account of his religious affiliations......
  15. You hired Mr Burns...congrats, Leafs. Wanted to hire someone who actually helped organize the Cup parade in '67....
  16. Any chance someone could copy/paste Gary Lawless' article from this week about the fans needing to be patient? I really feel like people need to read that...
  17. If anyone's following the Twitter scroll on this page...Rod Pedersen absolutely livid about Penton's piece saying that Lapo will be in for Chamblin by Labour Day. Calling it ridiculous. I'm getting a chuckle anyhow...
  18. When I drive between Calgary & Winnipeg stopping at Moosomin is never an option. I divide the trip into 4 segments... Calgary to Medicine Hat, stop for gas as it's the cheapest before Saskatchewan. Medicine Hat to Swift Current, stop for a quick bite along the highway.... McDonalds or A & W. Swift Current to Regina, stop at the Husky Station for gas before heading out of town... Regina to Brandon. Stop for a quick fill along the highway... then Brandon to Winnipeg. Vice versa the other way. Dividing up the drive like that is a helluva lot better than thinking 14 hours OMFG it's going to be Hell... Each segment is 2 1/2 to 3 hours... I'm more or less the same, but we cut out Swifty....usually the Hat to Regina in a single shot. I'm a big "Get Where I'm Going As Fast As I Can" kinda guy....no unnecessary stops.....
  19. It's strange, because last year I thought our ST was outstanding....
  20. I still remember attending a job fair in 1989 and Sylvia Kuzyk was just sitting in the CKY booth with no one around her, so a friend and I went over and talked to her, though we were kind of in awe of talking to a celebrity who was on TV! Anyway, she told us that if we went to Red River college and took broadcasting, we had a chance to be broadcasters one day, and follow in the steps of their latest new young broadcasting star who she said had potential to one day be a national broadcaster. That man's name was of course, Rod Black. Of course during those days there was also Clay Young, who took to the meaning of wearing a wife beater a little too far and is now banished to Thunder Bay, forever. And Peter Young, a confident brash up and comer that is rumoured to have worn shorts while behind the desk. Neither of these were related to Angus Young, who definitely wore shorts while working and Malcolm Young, both have gone onto very lengthy and successful careers. Malcolm, sadly, suffers from dementia, has a one room spot in a personal care facility in his homeland, will never work again, but still has more of a brain than Clay Young. I'm just waiting for Throw Long to chime in on the Wells family. Beauregard regularly wore his hockey gear under the desk so that as soon as he was done, could bolt to his beer league game...
  21. Was Lenny Walls that actually started it, believe it or not...back around 2010 or maybe earlier.....
  22. Chamblin also saying both Smith and Demski to see time this week...
  23. faaaaaack....Leggett leaves practice limping and is now not available to the media, as per team regs (injured players not avail to media)..... bad news all around.
  24. Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Moe leggett leaves bomber practice late. Might be limping. Teague Sherman at safety. Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Devin Tyler getting lots of first team reps at right tackle for bombers-- likely to play in Edmonton.
  25. Yeah, Don was a nice man. Before I job shadowed him, I called him at work out of the blue to ask if I could job shadow him for a day & he immediately agreed. All the guys on the 24 Hours set were nice. I don't recall seeing a lot of egos on that show the day I was there. I never liked Harris & his monotone delivery & know it all attitude, "I'm smarter than anyone else" on air persona. He had one really good curling season 20 years ago & unfortunately he parlayed that into a curling broadcast career. Wasn't even a good season. Fluked his way through the Oly Trials (they've since put measures in place to keep things like this from happening...) and picked up a Bronze (!!!) at Olys when there were basically no other countries worth a damn competing at that time....awful.
