And yet with a deal based how you want it, you won't get players to sign it. There has to be significant base in order for him to take a lower overall number. Considerably less than other league starters.

Everything about him has been declining steadily and he's getting really old now, even by baseball standards...

The other thing about Buff is that you can't ever expect 82 games, or anything close to that, from a guy his size. He can't play at his best for more than maybe 50 games, because he just gets worn down too fast. If you can get top notch Buff for about half the season, and then 75% Buff for 1/4 and then Whatever He's Got Buff for 1/4......that's about the best season from the big man.

Hasn't shown anything 'cause he never sees the field. But he's younger, and in theory can still play, but who would know? Here's the thing about Hank -- his massive ego rules all. If Ottawa tells him that they don't want him as a starter, he'll absolutely think about retiring. Unless....Jones comes to him with all sorts of hefty promises featuring big money and full time starter minutes, etc. Flattery will get you everywhere with an ego the size of Burris's....so you just never know.

Josh Bourke and that happened earlier this week (discussed elsewhere).......he's long past his best-before date. Due to retire.

No way Jones makes a move like this without having some kind of realistic plan for the immediate future. Now, having said that, until I see a legitimate QB sign his name to a contract with them, I'll continue to hope and pray for the most epic of tire fires over there...

Maurice isn't the problem...not yet, anyhow.......but there might be some bad apples. Hard to say without being in the room...
