  1. Calgary is a bad hockey team. Jets, when healthy, are far better in every way.
  2. With a healthy Scheiffele and Laine it is. Right now they're a glorified AHL team. Calgary didn't do **** all last night other than sit back and watch the Jets implode. Make no mistake... Calgary is not a good team. The Jets were just awful last night.
  3. I just think the most LIKELY government to support this would be the Grits.....I mean, there's less than 0 chance the Con's would EVER hand out money to ANYTHING, especially the CFL. **** on Trudeau for a conflict of interest situation all you want, but they were by far the most likely group to support this. If they wouldn't, nobody would. Soooooo....... it is what it is. Cancel the season...whatever. I believe the teams that matter will find a way to exist when this is all over.
  4. So all you Lib haters.....do you honestly think the Con's would support this any better?
  5. Not even the least bit surprised by those comments. What a ******* moron. Will go down in history as, by far, the worst president in US history, with - again, by far - the most deaths single-handedly due to him.
  6. Winnipeg has a hybrid team. There's some size, but there's also speed. They're not the team from a couple years ago that was massive and would check teams into submission, but they still have some size for sure. A lot of the talking heads are putting too much stock into the fact that Pionk had a rough outing vs Van. He was a really really nice addition for the team this year, and once they shake off the rust, he's going to be just fine.
  7. Got 30 Mil for the War Room!
  8. I'd be curious to get takes from both GMs and Agents about that.....
  9. that is absolutely perfectly fine.....the NFL can go f*** itself. I don't want their help and the strings that would likely come with it.
  10. sending them to the wolves. There's no extra money and no real plan for the pandemic. They quoted some study from Sweden saying that kids pose much less of a risk of spreading COVID so they don't really need to do anything different. No limit on class sizes, no hiring extra custodians or teachers aides. Of all the provincial "back to school" plans released so far, Alberta's is the only one that doesn't have any changes because of COVID.
  11. Manitoba at least seems to be trending in the right direction. The colony outbreaks *seem* to be under control. Hopefully the 6 in hospital pull through and there's no more deaths. Out here in AB, we're going the opposite direction. Things are just awful and seem to be getting worse.
  12. fLames are terrible. Jets in 3. People worried about Tkachuk....don't. Just ignore him and he goes away. Their goaltending is also highly suspect. Jets SHOULDN'T have any trouble with these guys. I'm still calling Jets/Oilers WCF, but we'll see what happens starting Saturday, I suppose...
  13. I only watched the first two periods, but thought the Jets were dominated in the 1st, and Helle kept them in it. The second, they really took it to Vanny and it showed. I really love that Lowry line. Always making something happen out there.
  14. Not sure if it was posted yesterday, but the entire city of Toronto (3 million + people...) had exactly 1 confirmed case yesterday. Ontario has finally got **** figured out. Alberta has had 4 consecutive days of declining numbers. Too soon to celebrate, but here's hoping the message regarding masks and better social distancing in public is starting to get through...
  15. I think the only predictions we should be trying to make is "Can they actually finish this thing without having to shut it down due to COVID"?
  16. Team Ops being informed that they'll enter the bubble in Winnipeg September 14th, if all goes well. Everything comes down to whether or not the league can get 42.5 mil from the Feds.
  17. MLB situation is so much different because there's no bubble. NHL announced today that there were 0 positive cases over the last week, and now all the teams are in the bubble and will be tested daily. In theory, everything SHOULD be okay, but we'll see how things go. I have high hopes for Bubble Life.
  18. Nearly half of all Alberta doctors are planning on leaving the province because the current government decided to rip up their agreement and create a new billing plan. In the midst of a pandemic. Just ******* moronic. They're trying to basically break any union that exists in the province.
  19. Man.... Woman.... TV.....
  20. Jason Kenney is a "Shades Of Trump" Premier. He desperately wants to be a Republican-in-Alberta. It is terrifying to be here right now. Never been this scared to live somewhere, and I lived in Winkler!!
