If we'd followed the same path as Manitoba has, this wouldn't be happening. Going "Full Moron" July 1st brought us here, and everyone knows it. Once the numbers come back down again, we HAVE TO come back very gingerly...babiest of baby steps.

The hammer came down pretty good tonight. State of emergency declared. Reduced capacity at stores. A half assed vaxx passport system. I'd call it 3/4 measures....

Bah... I totally missed your mention of Bighill. My bad. Is Nichols for sure ineligible for Rookie?

We drove past Green Lake on our way to rent a boat from the lodge.... How's the fishing in there? The view was spectacular. I bet cottages there don't come up for sale often.... -
And Bighill. But 100% agree that nearing the midway point, it's all us for every major award. MOP, MODP, ROTY....

SammySam........ told us about the big win in 04 (05?) over Montreal when we started the season 0-4, and then had to face Montreal.... he told us we were going to win, and how they'd been prepping for it. Sure enough....what a game. Milt Miracle late in that one....huge game for Charlie....defense with a scoop and score early in it (Willie Fells?)..... -
Interesting as Smith has said that he's a long time Ottawa fan, going back to when he was a kid cheering for the RRs.....

It definitely wasn't that...it was just his sincere excitement for football. I'm not quite sure yet how I feel about how amped DN gets as the PBP guy. Generally speaking, the emotion should be for the Analyst, but I think if the pairing is right, you can get away with it. But as mentioned, if he was paired with someone like Dunigan, who is also that amped, it might be too much for some people.... almost off-putting.

similarly, I have vivid memories of exactly where I was at Big Whiteshell Lake Campground during the game where Cal was off after his heart attack and awaiting the transplant. -
this is a really great point that I hadn't considered. It's so important to balance these things...good call, J.....

but here's the thing......and I say this with the preface that I absolutely ADORE so much about Alberta.................but Alberta is not Canada. Yes, it is currently a province within Canada..........but Alberta is NOT Canada. It's a whole other thing.....

Semi related, but I finally saw that "Yesterday" movie on Sunday. Really cool. Greatest band of all time, no question.

All I want is someone who can make 80%+ from 40 yards. 75% from 45.... The kid will get there one day but it's probably too much too soon, right now. -

We had a Strevelation, and that's pretty damn close... -
so in the babiest of baby steps, Alberta announced this morning that you can now print off a little card that shows your vaccination record (up til now, we've only had a big 7x11 piece of paper from our second vaxx appointment). They say they're working on a QR code that will be available "in the coming weeks".......still no word on an actual mandate for "passports" to access non-essential services. They are, however, having an emergency meeting of the AB COVID "Task Force" (government committee that votes on changes to protocol) today......soooooooooooooooooo.............maybe?

One of those games I know exactly where I was when it happened. Was rooming with a Gapper at that time, working my first gig up in Dauphin, and we were listening to it on the radio (wasn't televised).....I was ecstatic. Roomie.....not so much. -
^^ all fair statements for sure......nobody can ever doubt what an unreal Riders homer he is.

I was actually thinking that there are WAY too many ******* kids on this site...... "remember 2010??!!" gtfo.......I'm feeling more and more like Iso and KBF every day. ******* kids.... fun fact - that was the first time since their return that the Jets had a game on the same day as the Bombers. A couple of us made a roadie from Alberta back home for that weekend. Got tix to the Bombers game where we beat Montreal to take over 1st place in the East, and then we headed over to that "4-Play" sports bar across from MTSC and watched Chris Mason shut out the Canes that night for a big Jets win. A marching band from the UofM was going through the bar playing songs....it was just unreal. What a ******* weekend we had.....hoooooooweeeeeeeeeeeeee. They're still scraping 17to85's puke off of Broadway..........
