  1. I've read a number of interviews where he talked about generally voting Democrat. He was not the rabid Republican that people thought he was.
  2. I have no problem with what Grieg did and I think the Reilly "cross check" is overblown. It was more of a shove with the stick up. Grieg went down and turtles and that was the end of it.
  3. I know it's not an apples to apples comparison, but Betts getting a sniff down south and not Schoen, is particularly hilarious.
  4. Toby was unapologetically a Democrat.... Just extremely supportive of the military. His father lost an eye in WW2 and they were very much a pro military family.
  5. I mean, it was the 50s... You guys had just come back from the war....
  6. Hilarious that a guy as overrated as Betts would get any look down south.... And at 29?! Unreal.
  7. I'm not sure MOS has any real interest in going south (tho millions of dollars could change that ) but I thought it was neat to hear an NFL GM talk about how his name is mentioned down there...
  8. I recall Friesen being banned from the facilities by the team for some really negative pieces...
  9. Credit to @EdTait for digging this up and putting it in his latest 1st and 10: https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/02/09/first-10-free-agency-preview-2/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Cool sound bite from long-time NFL executive and former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff about Blue Bombers coach Mike O’Shea during a visit with B.C. Lions play-by-play voice Bob Marjanovich at the Super Bowl this week in Las Vegas: ^^ Former Falcons GM believes there is at least SOME interest in Mike O'Shea among NFL GM's.... (as a DC or possibly more...)
  10. the whole thing had SUCH negative slant against the team, right from the get go.... that's always been the knock on Friesen (and Wiecek) is the negative slant. It's a reason people always loved Tait. Never led with or looked for the negative...
  11. I feel bad that he feels disrespected, but as 17to85 was just saying, these are the hard decisions that have to be made. I will always be a huge fan of our 2Jeff2Furious tandem. Haba and Garbutt time...
  12. It's the players/agents who put those bonuses in there at that time.... to force the team to **** or get off the pot, and allow them to move on to another team if they don't get the bonus. This is what they want.
  13. Count me in for not wanting to lose BOLO. Also hate to lose Bailey, but if he moves on to get a bigger paycheque and a higher profile, then BOLO should be in his spot getting regular reps.
  14. Awe re-signs in Calgary and BC cuts Woody Baron loose ahead of a 30k bonus due...
  15. looked him up online... he's a monster... looks built like Alan Ritchson (Reacher)........
  16. keep in mind, FA doesn't actually open until next Tuesday. This year there just seems to be a lot more information during the "tampering" week than normal, so it maybe feels like there should be more information...... but I'm sure this time next week we'll know a lot more.
  17. wasn't sure where to put this, but I'm looking forward to it... actually have most of Tuesday off next week, so I'm all in......
  18. For me, Castillo far and away the most important signing remaining.... glad to hear they're talking. Let's get it done!
  19. was talking about this with some guys recently.... it's not that I want Bighill outright replaced, but I'd like to see his reps significantly reduced. I think he can still be really effective, just in a limited role. We need to have more guys rotating through that LB corps, I think...
  20. what did we figure out about Holm? Is he a pending FA? He was supposed to be getting NFL tryouts but not sure anything happened there. I assume we can pencil him in to one of the secondary spots, along with Nichols and Parker.... Nick Hallett at S, likely...... then someone else (Ford??) in the last spot...
  21. was just thinking, let's not forget about Miles Fox up the middle. He looked REALLY good in his limited reps last year and I know there's a few of us that wanted to see him getting full time reps. This could be the year for that. Walker and Jeffcoat leaving could mean Haba and Fox finally get the roster spot we kinda felt they'd earned last year.... that's not the worst thing. Along with some of the new bodies signed, as mentioned....... we might just have the bodies in house to step up. Right now, I'm more curious about who takes Houston's spot...
