CFL - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
I cant imagine Chris Jones being involved with this. LOL CFL team accused of “egregious lack of professionalism, awareness of player safety” in recent open tryout; Ex-Texas player speaks out Sources tell FootballScoop complaint filed with various CFL entities against Edmonton Elks after Los Angeles-area tryout An “open tryout” earlier this spring for the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks has resulted in complaints against the long-time CFL franchise after Elks’ staff members asked participants to help set up the field, time 40-yard dashes and other elements in the bizarre event at Pasadena City College, numerous sources told FootballScoop. https://footballscoop.com/news/cfl-team-accused-of-egregious-lack-of-professionalism-awareness-of-player-safety-in-recent-open-tryout-player-speaks-out

Elks versus RR Week One
So Edmonton got ride of Sergio and his replacement doesnt kick field goals longer than 40 yards? Yeah, that was a smart move.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
I only noticed him on the field for a play or 2 in the fourth. Hopefully this new stat package for the CFL will include snap counts per player.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
Anyone that goes to practice would notice that have a multitude of goal line/ short yardage plays. It was game one and the Bombers haven't opened up all their playback yet. I'm not concerned.

3 stars plus hh blow out with some doubt
And after Jeffcoat went out Haba was in for almost every play. I'm sure he'll be even more effective when he can more plays off.

And Crazy George.

3 stars plus hh blow out with some doubt
I'll give Sergio the benefit of the doubt for his kickoffs in the 1st and 3rd quarters. He was going against a noticeable wind.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
He comes out for the heavy packages. He's been on the sidelines for about 20 plays.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
O'Shea sure doesn't worry about the new DNA rule. Grant comes in on offense but it's Agodusi that comes off.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
Lots up stuff happening after the plays. Pretty undisciplined.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
He's wondering if he still gets paid. (He is holding though for the kicks)

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
Jeffcoat hasn't played much.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1
In retrospect the Bombers could of looked into adding a National fullback with Burtenshaw and Miller missing most of camp. It was nice that they gave reps to Jackson during camp but they must of thought Miller would be good to go for the start of the season.

week 1 talk
I think O'Shea has been lurking here: Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea isn’t happy about the muddled mess created by the CFL’s new ‘nationalized American’ rule as the regular season gets underway. "I think there’s still confusion about exactly the intent of these sorts of things,” O’Shea said on Thursday, a day ahead of the Bombers’ season opener on Friday night against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7:30 p.m., IG Field). “We will continue to do what’s right for our team. But I do think it’s important that everybody involved in the CFL works together to make sure they’re doing the best for our league.” "Right now there’s a lot of chatter, a lot of negativity about this, and It’s everybody’s responsibility to avoid that and make sure that we showcase the absolute best of our league, especially with more coverage in other places,” O’Shea said. “To have that overshadowed by some confusion … let’s just hope it doesn’t go on too long.” https://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/cfl/winnipeg-bluebombers/bombers-oshea-not-a-fan-of-confusion-created-by-cfls-new-nationalized-american-rule

If they need flexibility due to injury on defence there is also the rule where a Nationalized American can replace an injured Canadian. Jeffcoat can replace an injured Bennett for example.

The Gap Between MB-AB vs Last 3x GC Finalists, 2x Champs: A Mother-f***ing GDT!
McCrae has been hurt since the first week of camp. Can't see how they keep him around.

Sounds like a country song.

Lots of DB depth however Rose and Lawerence are also injured.

I'm OK with sending out the punters to see what they have - or don't have.

Interesting to see the Bombers are still going hard with their pregame warmup while the Riders went to their dressing room awhile ago. Also, it's gonna be a hot one.

Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
I still think Salima will be kept around. It wouldn't surprise me if McCrae is cut as he's been injured for most of camp.
