  1. a first round pick for a starting qb is a well worthwhile trade. Problem with Collaros is his injury history means you might get him for 1 play or all season or anything in between. That's where the gamble comes in.
  2. Macadoo gets such an unfair rap there. Guy made cofaj look like a qb, i wouldn't be in a rush to move on from him.
  3. And how!
  4. No one told Streveler that.
  5. You missed the point, the point was in past years the defense was awful and even with a good game offensively by Nichols the team lost. If nichols had a good D backing him in BC and against Edmonton in past semi finals he probably walks out with some wins there.
  6. i just wish we had some depth ya know?
  7. This is the stupidest ******* argument in have ever seen. Give nichols the D we saw in this playoffs backing him up he would have won a lot more playoff games. Also calgary this year is not the same as Calgary last year so don't even try and make that comparison.
  8. Everyone has even lost the entire point here. It's not really whether or not Collaros is better than Nichols, he may very well be, but at this point in their careers (pending how Nichols comes back from injuries) they're not so far apart. The entire point here is that it is complete and utter horseshit that people are so willing to downplay everything that Matt Nichols has done for this team.
  9. Some people just have a negative outlook and I honestly feel sorry for them. I don't know how they go through life never truly having any long lasting joy in their lives.
  10. Didn't we have a pretty good 2nd down conversion rate with Nichols most times? The thing collaros does better is elude pressure, I've said that the whole time. But people are really forgetting all the things Nichols did for this team. They are missing the big picture because all their squirrel attention spans can see are the last few games.
  11. No he didn't, so we had to go to another veteran qb. But what did he do to distinguish himself from what nichols was doing? Other than you know, not being matt nichols which is more than enough for people like you regardless of anything else.
  12. Do you even read what I say about Lapo? And **** sakes at least twice tonight I've shown you how Collaros and Nichols put up similar numbers... but yeah, it was ALLLL the awesomeness of Collaros and not this team doing what this team does best. Simple fact is that the problems this team had with Streveler as the starter we twofold. One Lapo used him too much as a running gimmick and two that he turned the ball over more. Collaros being a veteran brought it back more in line with what was happening when Nichols was there because they're both veterans. All you have done is **** all over Nichols and shown nothing that makes Collaros better... unless it's that one throw against Calgary to end the regular season, which was a hell of a play, but still just one play.
  13. Pretty sorry excuse, when we played Ottawa they had beaten Calgary and Saskatchewan... That's the supposed top 2 teams in the west on the year. And I don't see how Collaros really did outshine Nichols other than the people who would rather stab their own eyes out than give Nichols any shred of credit. Their numbers are very very similar overall, because that's the numbers this offense put up. It's a running offense, the QB play is basically boiled down to "don't **** up"
  14. You know at this point I just assume that if I get a notification for a like that it's you agreeing with me.
  15. 10-25 20 CGY 22 28 221 2 1 7.9 11-10 22 CGY 11 21 193 1 0 9.2 11-17 23 SSK 17 25 267 1 0 10.7 11-24 24 HAM 17 23 170 0 0 7.4 Those are Collaros numbers.... you know what they look like? They look an awful lot like typical Matt Nichols numbers with this team.
  16. So how come the record with Streveler sucks balls compared to Nichols? And I say that as someone who loves Streveler and thinks he's gonna be an absolute star. He lost games that Nichols woulda won for this team. The only comparison here that makes any sense is for arguing that Collaros is better than Nichols, and he might be, he does keep his eyes downfield better than Nichols, but as others mentioned, he was pretty lucky he didn't rack up some turnovers in the games he did play. over the course of a season those sorts of things do even out.
  17. The only applicable stat is the eye test, but you can only use that if your head is lodged firmly in your own ass. I just will not understand how people can ***** so much about a qb who has done nothing but win games for this team since he took over the starting job.
  18. is it racist to call racists racist? Minorities can be racist too. Fact is that Shivers had an agenda. There's a reason that Danny Barrett was the coach he hired. Guy flat out said he was hiring the best black coach out there.
  19. OK but what's his twin brother Tommy planning on doing?
  20. Wilson ran down Brandon Banks... I wouldn't be looking to replace that guy any time soon.
  21. probably pissed off that he had to work for a white man. Guy was one of those real angry racists. And yes I am sure he had to deal with discrimination and racism directed his way in his life, but the answer to that is never being racist right back.
  22. He was an angry dude with a chip on his shoulder coupled with an enormous amount of arrogance. It's no wonder that the bandwagon jumpers who joined that fan base when he was GM took on his personality.
  23. yeah the pregame huddle with jefferson telling the guys to give everything they have. It really shows the focus and understanding of the moment this team had. A week of focus for an entire offseason of partying. Which apparently Streveler is fully intending to do.
  24. Yay for small sample sizes! Yes Collaros and Nichols do things differently, and maybe Collaros is the overall better quarterback... but the numbers offensively still played out the same for every quarterback we used. Not super impressive passing stats, a crap load of rushing yards. The way this team was set up was the same for every qb. Don't make mistakes and capitalize on the chances you get. That's what Nichols was doing this year. It is quite frankly unfair to put the midseason crap on Nichols. There was a fundamental change in the way this team played after those games they gave away with the passive ****. Defensively they tightened up a hell of a lot and offensively they stayed more aggressive too. Let's consider that Bailey and Lawler really came on as the season progressed and I don't think Nichols ever got the chance to have Bailey in the lineup. That makes a difference too. To try and downplay Matt Nichols is just silly give all the factors surrounding this team.
  25. Right? 7-2, top offense in the league, redzone domination and cruising to an easy first place in the west finish. But haters gonna hate.
