  1. Ouellette needs to stop skipping leg days. If he gets any speed going he falls over.
  2. It's just that legendary Regina traffic.
  3. Rolan Milligan...the best DB in the league in a long, long time.
  4. Those upper decks are completely empty. Going to have to start calling themselves the 12.5th Man.
  5. Morris' press conference basically indicated they needed to get back to that. He also said "Eskimo Way" a bunch of times.
  6. I don't think another QB in this league today wins 7 games with the Bombers receiving corps this year minus Schoen, Lawler and Wolitarsky so much. Playing so many games without any big/reliable targets. So if you're worried about Collaros play in Grey Cup games. Be happy we have him to give us a chance to get there.
  7. Ottawa left way too many points on the field in the first half.
  8. Ottawa's secondary just mindlessly running around. The fact you can have two guys that open in the middle of the field, have the ball tipped and floating in the air, guy can catch it and not get massacred in the process speaks volumes.
  9. How the hell can't the refs on the field make that call? Crum's entire upper body is in the endzone.
  10. Bad look for the league to have a ref on a teams bench like that.
  11. Literally nothing for Ottawa to gain even if they recover that short kick. Incredibly stupid call.
  12. Ottawa plays into November with no running back so they seem resigned to lose.
  13. Gray is already down 70 pounds and he hasn't even been out for a full year. By your definition every lineman in the league is undersized. All of them when they start eating normally will lose weight. If they keep eating they'll get even bigger and die young.
  14. I think he wants more pass rush from the ends. We just don't have anyone we've seen this year even back to training camp who can get off the line and put OT's on their heels. And the best guys at getting off the line, like Adams and Woods are 300 pounders. So we've rolled them out in a lot of downs on the edge. Even in terms of contain we are not disciplined, Jefferson especially. He overruns the ball all the time. Always poor leverage. About all he can do at this point is play Mutombo (RIP) out there and try to get his hands in passing lanes. But if teams are hard on him in terms of blocking he fades away.
  15. Here's the thing the smart play designers/callers have mastered though: The front/alignment doesn't matter beyond the read you're hoping the offense to make pre-snap. The big difference between JY's D and Richie Hall's is that Richie Hall applied this logic to every level including the DL. Our DL is way too static and we don't have the right type of ends to run this D.
  16. If you're a QB in a league where 6 of 9 teams make the playoffs, and your team didn't, there's no way in hell you can win MOP.
  17. Doesn't really move the needle. Maybe some stability on football side. Average but unspectacular U Sports program he's built at one of the biggest schools in biggest recruiting grounds in nation.
  18. They've fallen off in a big way this year. Their D is a mess because they held back money for Rourke and Betts. If they win this year it's because they outscore how shitty their D is.
  19. Calgary has been bankrupt as many times as Toronto has in my life. They are the posterchild for why a club like Edmonton should have stayed community owned. Immediately when Calgary switched over it started.
  20. Did I ever tell you about the time Rolan Milligan took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally Milligan takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half and sure enough someone constructs a bar around us. The day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Milligan yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found 'em!'
  21. Kind of hilarious how McNeil brushes off Dickenson wearing so many hats as "leaning on personnel department" during the season. Personnel department is two people in Calgary. You need GM to do a fair amount of scouting work in this league in this era.
  22. So basically Covid restrictions to normal to no substantive change in past two years. At least it's not going down I guess. Yeah and BC had some big draws, most around paying $1 million plus for a musical act included as part of a ticket to a football game. Not sure their average otherwise would provide revenue to even pay the bills/payroll.
  23. The piss poor efforts of the CFL to grow the game at grassroots is felt across the country. Luckily the Bombers pick up the slack in Manitoba. We have more initiatives sponsored by NFL than CFL. Most kids aside from a few diehards gravitate to NFL. Officiating at all levels is awful. CFL is pulling up refs who don't know basic rules and struggle at amateur level. Ambrosie has to wear this mess but especially the CFL level with the Command Centre debacles on an almost weekly basis.
  24. Our offense was great in that game. Game plan was excellent. Used strength of Montreal D (zone blitz) against them. Collaros had a great game. Lawler needs to make some plays, Wilson was alright, unspectacular. Demski makes some first downs and a big play on a vertical. We don’t have much else at receiver. Bombers consistently brought 6-7 guys inside and burned Als with playaction. They were loaded for run. 2nd half adjustment to just constantly flood half the field tore the Als apart. Only issue was lack of aggression in redzone. Now that might be smart to preserve FG chances, but think you have to give guys chance to make plays. Call some zero read stuff where we basically know where the ball is going coming out of the huddle. Defense was horrible especially vs Fajardo. Only reason they got off the field is if Fajardo missed a throw. A bit more pressure against Alexander who doesn’t move the ball quickly but also burned us on scrambles. They isolated Bonds and our backers and torched them. Bonds really struggled with leverage on Snead, where he wanted/needed to be. They snuck Snead around the field and we could not cover him with anyone, always lose track of him. The only guys on the field who consistently flow to ball on runs/completions are Jones and Holm. Not a fan of Nichols playing deep half/third as much as he did in that game. Basically removed him from the game. Our tackling and recognition are terrible…run a bunch of screens on us we’ll probably give you 20 yards on 2/3 of them.
