  1. Garbutt is a shitty American player in this league. He has 4 sacks in 20 games. Very minimal impact. Same production here and in Hamilton. Unless everyone is so scared of him they avoid his side of the field. Fox too. 14 games in 4 seasons, a tackle a game and 1 career sack. Those guys are the definition of placeholders. Any team should be embarrassed to be featuring those guys at this point of their career. Those are the kinds of guys in the kinds of positions that should be moved out if they make no impact. And I'm not saying the Bombers are any better. Like Adams to me is a guy I'm trying to replace every week. The position is among the easiest in the game. Win your gap, be disruptive. If we can watch 6 games and not be sure you even dressed when you're playing 30+ snaps a game, see ya.
  2. Relevant because if it's 2018 or 2019 he's got a walk in TD because he can beat the angle (like you mentioned). Now he gets run down before he's even anywhere near the sideline. He needs to recognize that he can't change direction at all and apply that in his decision making/timing for everything because it's different now post-injury. Super duper ******* relevant if you're putting together a gameplan for the guy because he's not a threat anymore on scrambles or rollouts, called QB runs other than maybe a draw up the gut.
  3. They sure Vaval's was neck and not brain?
  4. Yeah run the ball...but ultimately have to execute. Streveler scrambles and loses like 15 yards to a DL in about 2.5 seconds. Guy has to understand his own limitations sooner than later. He throws the ball to the pilon from 7 ish yards into the field while his hips are parallel to the sideline. Complete arm toss so basically no velocity on that ball. Every single decision he makes from the time he takes the snap is bad and leads to the result. If he's going to be a decent QB this season he's going to have to get comfy in the pocket and move the ball out quickly. Because I'm not sure he could beat Wade Miller in a 3 cone drill right now.
  5. Drive or rideshare. Otherwise you basically have to go to Union Station by TTC to connect to Harbourfront street car which is kind of a haul. Worked out well for Reggie White.
  6. IMO this is bang on. Whatever you think of Bighill's on-field production, Alexander's, we went from guys like that setting the tone to Jefferson (toxic level of effort/attention to detail), Nichols (anyone know what his voice sounds like?), Wilson, Kramdi, Holm...guys who are like 3-4 year pros. The room can't run itself anymore. They built that, and it fell apart. Need to rebuild it.
  7. Last receiver we signed who has a masters degree in engineering was Dalton Schoen.
  8. I think the injury is that bad and it's been like 8 months. Reasonable probability he doesn't get back to playing shape this season or ever.
  9. Hard to not be disappointed with this signing. I wouldn't even have guys in my database who are less than 4x All-Americans.
  10. Only teams who have not played at least one game without their #1 are Edmonton, Calgary and Hamilton. Not even halfway through the season.
  11. Lawler left twice for kind of ridiculous money. Yeah would have paid it this time since we're hosting the Grey Cup. But also a guy who is hot and cold on effort. Like a couple stupid plays in the last Grey Cup he made were big ones in shutting down what should have been scoring drives. Brown left to be starting QB in Ottawa. Think if he had the opportunity and similar money here, he stays. Ford got an insane deal from Edmonton. Sayles got a big deal in Hamilton. Most of the other free agents who left here basically weren't offered anything from Winnipeg. Like Garbutt's. Kind of striking out on guys they wanted who left or spurned them. I don't think there's an issue of players not wanting to be here. The issue is more on who they see as the core players IMO. They haven't really replaced the core group from 18-21. Guys like Jefferson, Neufeld, Nichols, Schoen aren't necessarily building blocks like Harris, Jeffcoat, Bighill, Hardrick, Adams, Alexander, Mike Miller the player were in setting that . And they are still running the team like the players can completely self-regulate and don't need more of that leadership from the coaching staff. It's a much different group.
  12. Chris Brazzell's entire highlight film as a Bomber.
  13. They had Clercius in the slot a bunch on Friday, Corcoran at Z. Personally from watching that, don't think Clercius has the quickness in tight spaces or route running yet to make some space for himself to be productive from the slot. Chris-Ike is that guy that can be the H-back type, block, leak out, run a flat route, wheel. Corcoran might be a guy who can play out of the slot a bit. I'd drop Vaval and have Mitchell/Case both on to play some receiver and return. I'm not a huge fan of the look with one returner back on kickoff. Teams are ******* with us when we do that. And Vaval isn't exactly taking charge. Put Mitchell and Case both back there. Use Case on punts. In general with teams playing a ton of zone, 3 high and quarters on us, daring us to throw underneath and try to get YAC, completely taking away vertical routes...need to use formation to open up space horizontally. Bunch formations, isolate guys 1x4, 1x2 with tight ends. Open up space so you can hit guys in space and give them a chance to make a play after the catch.
  14. I look at it basically like the escrow deal the big 4 leagues have with revenue sharing. The payout is that money back based on league revenue in 2024. But like you said there's no guarantee that continues in 2025 so it's not really a linear "money added to league salaries" for 2025. It's bizarre that the CBA has no structure for how it's distributed.
  15. I don't think Terry Wilson is the guy to develop. Even NCAA he's got like a 6 yard average for pass depth. He hasn't shown any different up here. He's point guard style spread QB. No ability to hit windows and go vertical. Maybe you develop quick game for him but he doesn't get it out quick yet, hasn't developed that yet at this level anyways. So far what we've seen is "hold it, hold it, check it down." I'm not really sure why he's still here other than he's still on the rookie deal vs a guy like Patterson or Dolegala. The development guy here as a passer is Artopoeus. But he's a first year pro.
  16. Person, Adams, Ayers, dress Woodbey and have him play as a 3-4 style rush end. Call back Webb or Brandon Wright. Bring in someone that was cut somewhere else. Really don't see any of these options being more useless than Jefferson has been so far this year. A warm body with a moderate understanding of their assignment and a willingness to battle could not possibly be any worse. Maybe he has something left to tap into. Looks tapped out though. Doesn't seem to have any drive to deal with some adversity. Other teams are basically laughing in his face while going right at him which probably is leading to the frustration penalties. My opinion, a guy like that you deal with when he's a good player, but on the downswing is toxic as ****.
  17. The tough guy routine from him is very tiresome. Make a damn play, be aggressive at the line of scrimmage, getting after QB. How many times a game does a RB blow right past him and he bricks his feet, maybe waves his arm as the guy goes by. Would be a very easy message sending veteran cut IMO.
  18. Bonds and Bridges combined had more targets, catches and receiving yards against in the 2 game series with Calgary than Wheatfall (our #2 receiver) has in 5 games. That was an exceptional torching of our corners. And no adjustment. Playing the same stupid cut cover on 2 man routes all day, every day. JY's defense isn't that small, it just got out of the pool!
  19. Clercius doesn't have a ton of space there. Want him to run out of bounds? Ball needs to get out way earlier if he's going to try to make that pass but really like you said just needs to eat it or throw it away. Also note how Streveler is basically completely parallel to line of scrimmage and gets zero from his lower body into that throw. Complete arm toss like most of his passes. Guy should not be playing.
  20. We'll see about that in October and November. VA is the king of putting together 4-5 game stretches where he looks like MOP and shitting his pants the rest of the season.
  21. Adams played almost the entire second half of this game. I get the Thomas frustration. Adams is doing sweet **** all out there. Not a difference maker. There's really no, give "Thomas reps to Adams, problem solved" scenario here. We have no difference maker on the DL. I liked Woods last year. Adams is twitchy but doesn't finish many plays, doesn't seem to really know what his assignment is. Big burst, no finish.
  22. I'd put Case in Sterns spot. Can do a lot more at all levels, way more burst, better hands. Really need to get someone in here with a catch radius to help these QB's out. Clercius is big but doesn't work in the crowded space inside. Get Mitchell on, even if he can win a few vertical routes a game that's something we're missing right now.
  23. Osh kind of taking a dump on Streveler post game.
  24. 2 of Calgary's picks were pretty clear RTP's by rule. Maybe one time we'll challenge. The Streveler one in the endzone was clearly spearing, what we use to call an earhole...which you can't even do to another guy on a kick cover, let alone on a QB, these days.
