Back to Back Champs vs Hillbillies early talk
JuranBoldenRules replied to Nolby's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Watch all the games over and chart them. If you want to look they are on YouTube. No 81 on any special team. Parker and Ford gun on punt, the rest are backs and backers. Same guys plus Bighill and Clements on kickoff cover and return. -

Harrison doesn't play special teams at all, return or cover. He's got one snap between the lines in 4 games. Gotta think they can integrate him into the offense in some capacity soon. -

Have extra import on both sides of the ball. Lots of flexibility in packages for D. 8 DL plus Maruo who plays wide rush end a lot in our 30 fronts...no excuse to not get a ton of pressure. LB's need to finish run plays. Maybe Harrison's breakout game. He got one snap vs Calgary in the 4th quarter on the long second down conversion right after the 3 minute warning. Hope it's Ford or Demski catching punts and not Taylor. We don't need to give the Riders any hope with a shitty special teams turnover. Injured. I'd like to see Cole on D a bit to see if he's better able to read plays and manage those pass/run keys that the WIL backer up here needs to. As a WIL Clements is a nice special teams player...has been a total fail on D. -
Labour Day Week non Back-to-Back Champs games

TSN production team in Montreal is just awful. They don't need to put their mics right by the noise. The whole point is to isolate the sound you want. It's 2022. It'll be 110 decibels in IGF and Mosaic but somehow the production teams there know how to adjust the levels so you can hear commentary. -

Montreal should be getting called for having their OL 10 yards downfield on a pass across the LOS. -

The last 3 drives every pass is double crosser with the tailback protecting. Uncanny. -

I think if Lapo goes 1-1 or 0-2 in these next two he gets canned during the bye the week after. -

Looks like both USD and Monmouth used Cooper as what would basically be a rush end in Canadian football. Interesting that he's listed as a DB unless it's a typo. -

Yeah the guys who had to come in to solidify the D and win the game last week when Clements couldn't stop his head from spinning. -

Don't mind losing Clements at this point. Add extra import DL, rotate 8. -

The guys who clear waivers don't have to join the PR of the team that cut them. They are free agents. Quite possible Desjarlais shopped for the best opportunity. -

It vests at 55 and if you've made $5 million or $10 million or $20 million that pension should seriously be moot. They do gain access to a mutual fund called a 401k in the US if they make the benefit cut off, but it's up to them to invest their money into it. -

No and I doubt that's even a huge factor TBH. A $20,000 a year pension when you're making $200,000 on PR. Invest it well. -
2022 CFL Season - Non Back 2 Back Champs News
JuranBoldenRules replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Assume Adams has a large bonus structure of guaranteed cash so his weekly cheques aren't that huge. Adams weekly pay probably about $6000 per game, maybe a bonus for playing 50% of snaps each week. Rourke around $4000 a week plus bonuses. BC has 8 games left so they probably need to cover about $20,000 hard money to acquire Adams. They've had three big money guys on 6 game, two of them for the whole season. It all just needs to add up at the end. -

Yeah and Ambrosie picked the Montreal ownership group fronted by a 90 year olds wallet over at least one other option that was both more capitalized and ambitious for potentially taking ownership of the stadium or building their own. Stern affects the whole league by running a franchise into the ground that the rest of the league has to decide to fold or fund now. Sure it's Ambrosie's fault he's in that position. -

The equivalent is a Bomber board member storming into Kyle Walters office to insist he doesn't trade Dakota Prukop. Imagine that. Good for the league to have morons like Stern off the sideline and back on their couch watching on TSN. -

They have/had a couple vets on D on 6 game. Adams likely had significant bonuses as part of his deal, upfront money, so his actual salary won't be that big of a hit. -

JuranBoldenRules replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Think it's gonna depend on how much interest there was in guys. Like for Lenius it was limited. For others it was much more. Even if you don't get on a PR week 1 there's what, 200 injuries/cuts a week in the NFL? If you land on a PR for half a NFL season you make more than you can in hard money for the rest of the CFL season. Can see some of the Canadians coming up. For the Americans it's potentially more of a pain in the ass to not make much hard money if they live in the US. -

Dobson is the replacement for Couture on the active roster. Maybe they budgeted on having Dobson on the 1 game all season. -

Minus Dobson's salary on the active to replace him, so about $25,000 hard money. Around the same for Wilson. About $40,000 ish from Alexander minus his replacement on active. Save a bit around the fringe on not backfilling PR, probably about $100,000 in hard money to offer to someone or facilitate a trade.
