Tax write off is the wrong way to describe it. There are ways to integrate businesses and use them for purposes like marketing your other businesses (this is basically the entire reason for the Blue Jays existence for the past 25 years), but there's not really any advantage to running a pro sports team that can't pay its own bills from its own operating revenue. It's not like MLSE can write down losses from their football operation against operating the Leafs or Raptors. That would be a pretty major tax evasion/accounting scandal. It would be way too blatant given how the Argos have basically never done anything but bleed cash. The real hope for bodies like MLSE and CSEC is to strip operations to the bone to make it break even and outsource a bunch of the work of marketing/operating the team to their other holdings. If you look at the football operations departments of the Argos and Stamps....they are bare ******* bones. Like Toronto's personnel department is Pinball, Jim Barker and John Hufnagel advising.

The league doing basically nothing to protect QB's in the pocket from direct blows to the head and neck could factor into that decision making too. The officiating in this league is at a crisis state between elderly refs in decline and extremely raw officials who can't manage the speed at this level.

Gotta be the ultimate guessing game as to when the "Replay Centre" will intervene on their own or not. Calgary was way offside on their late 3rd down stop that led to the tying TD. Sometimes that's reviewed, sometimes not. All turnovers and scoring plays are supposed to be reviewed but Maas had to throw his flag to get the spot looked at on the 3rd down turnover. Hard to look at this league as anything but bush until stuff like this is remedied. Either go to a system where all plays are reviewed or stick to only reviews coming from coaches and scoring plays.

Hendrix has stunk since the Argos didn't pay him the first time. Not a fan of Fletcher though. We need someone who can fire off and not get moved around so easily. But seems like we want to expand the Willie J basketball defense strategy rather than pressure and fill gaps. Much better run stopping the past few weeks with a lot more Kornelson and Lawson or 30 front with one of them head up on 1st downs. I'd honestly pop Jenkins inside because he just seems a little slower this year but has that explosive first step. Might be impactful.

You guys need to actually read what that trade was. Bombers traded their 1st in 27 for their 2nd in 27…so downgraded a pick 9 spots. Traded a conditional 2nd in 28 that depends on Brown’s starts this season and if he re-signs upgrades to a 1st. What bearing does this have on today. Steven Jyles was traded for Ricky Ray. Should Hamilton just trade Tre Ford for Trevor Harris?

On what planet? Realistic return would be like a 2nd-3rd round pick maybe upgrade to 1st.

So on one hand Collaros is a piece of **** who can’t make a throw but half the league are lined up to trade their franchise players for him….got it.

Taylor Powell has thrown 60 passes in the last 2 1/4 seasons. He didn’t face plant in 2023 as a rookie but he hasn’t got a lot of reps. Wouldn’t remotely call him proven.

Randolph stinks in pass protection. Letting him go is a non-issue. Letting Bryant continue on the roster is an issue. Not surprised the Argos were interested….look at how our DL handled them last night. When’s the last time our DL had a game like that? 2023?

We don’t play a Cover 1 safety like 95% of the time and it’s not always the same guy….just judge our LB’s and DB’s based on alignment and what they do near the ball because the depth chart is basically meaningless.

Argos last TD was all on Wilson. He’s covering turf so seeing nothing in front of him needs to keep dropping. He rolls wide and totally opens up the post….which I guess he doesn’t realize he’s right under. If we want to play 9 DBs out there, put 9 DB’s out there.

A lot of the refs they’re adding in recent seasons have like 2-3 years in with amateur football then getting tossed into CFL. They can’t handle the pace and don’t know the rules.
