Adams made a great play in his gap there to kill that run.
-
Streveler lacking a bit of burst. That looked like a called QB draw.
-
And then running 20 yards horizontally. Should have just flew right up that seam on the run. That's one Janarion would be taking all the way.
-
Rourke doesn't know what to expect and his running back doesn't know who to block.
-
Could be a lot of stuff...kind of awkward takedown on the long run as Brady is pulling ball in and BC DB pulling back on his shoulder pad while trying to strip him. Could be pec/bicep.
-
Are Butler's stats supposed to impress us?
-
I like that whenever he gets the ball it takes 3 guys to get him down.
-
******* O'Shea blocking Peterson with Oliviera. Finally guy gets to shine.
-
All they do is tell the refs how many of the 7 Canadians are on the field on O and D. Then that's the minimum that have to be on the field every snap. No difference if you put Shay's name in front of Jones' The ratio is no problem in this game. They don't even have another American backup on O dressed to take the spot anyways. Next week if Brady can't go, they start Cooley and flip to 5 on O, 2 on D...probably sit Ayres if no one else gets injured before then.
-
You can't touch the QB but you can have him in the grasp like that and he can spin around and ground it like that.
-
Basically forces them to put the other Canadian on D which functionally doesn't change much because they basically always have 2 out there on D anyways.
-
Peterson needs to keep churning. Good run there. A couple where he's hesitating and stopping his feet.
-
It's kind of that intermediate range he doesn't get there with a ton of zip.
-
Yeah hold and illegal block all in one because he's driving the guy toward his own endzone.
-
2 massive holds. Hatcher is blocking a guy toward his own endzone downfield which hasn't been legal for about 5 years.
-
Need to move off first read on 2nd and medium. They already keyed on that from the first drive.
-
Brady must be injured.
-
Rourke got no time back there no matter how many guys lined up with a hand down.
-
Probably shouldn't design plays to have receivers come from wideout to block DL.
-
Hang time helped them cover that one.
-
30 Front just ****** with Rourke there, Wilson blitzing too, Jones leaning like he might then dropping out.
-
OL is the single most important spot on the team. BC is playing 4 Americans there. Vanterpool is a giant upgrade on Dobson and either Wallace or Eli at this stage in their careers, Wallace on the way up, Eli just kind of meh in general and past the midpoint of his career.

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
JuranBoldenRules replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Copeland not a HOF'er IMO. One great year in an all-time great offense in Montreal and a lot of underwhelming years as a #1/#2 target. Not a big playoff performer. Consistently good, not great. Just around for awhile. Like Dalton Schoen has already had two seasons up there with Copeland's best. -
Last year BC came in here 5-1 for first game of a home and home. Basically a chance for them to put us in their rearview for good, split the games and they'd have tiebreak plus be up 3 games. Win both, up 4 games with tiebreaker. Bombers were 2-6. Vernon Adams was the MVP. Bombers had 6 DL dressed. 10 LB's. Schoen was gone. BC had 1 first down in the first half. I think we can put some trust in Jordan Younger to build his D to beat this team. Bombers won here 25-0. Bombers won in BC 20-11. Bombers won the West Division. BC averaged 12 points a game against the Bombers last season. They didn't even get a chance to play us in the playoffs. Now they have Rourke and Buck, so we'll see. I wouldn't expect Vaval to get any reps on D unless there are injuries. He's on to return. So put that guy who's a returner and does nothing else at DB, receiver, backup place kicker, does it matter? Can't get too deep into the weeds here.

If Younger is complaining I can't imagine Hogan is pumped about having Corcoran, Chris-Ike and Peterson as the only depth players on his chart. Literally all guys who have never or barely taken any snaps on O in the CFL. Demski or Schoen have a bad sneeze in the warmup and they are in for the whole game. Seems to me this roster is really built around Younger's scheme and who Mike Miller wants on for kick cover.
