  1. Schoen looked a little sketchy on entry but Bighill looked pretty normal.
  2. That’s the exact same roster as last week aside from Schoen listed GTD instead of McCrae. All those backers are dressed because that’s the core of the special teams units. No bread crumbs there on Bighill. I think they should go rush end for Bighill but will probably go Rose since he’s a vet. They got picked on pretty bad by BC when Jeffcoat was on sideline and Hansen on the field. If Jeffcoat tweaked his hip 3 plays into the game we’d be absolutely ******.
  3. You guys know that MBT has been available and actively shopping himself on both sides of the border since July, right? Nobody picked him up. Not Ottawa, not Hamilton, both down to raw rookies who were playing NCAA in 2022. Not Sask, not Calgary. I'm not sure much will change in the off-season. Nobody wants to sign him to much more than the kind of deal Dane Evans got in BC, 100k ish base and bonuses for starting, winning.
  4. Yeah and there's like 4 guys on every Power 5 roster in NCAA who fit the mold of what they are looking for. To me if a guy like Schoen can't get a shot with subpar testing numbers I'm not really sure who will.
  5. The prototype for a NFL tailback right now is sub 1.5 10 yard split, 4.4 40, explosive high 30s-40 vertical, 10-11 foot broad jump. The only spot where Oliviera is competitive is the shuttle and raw power demonstrated by bench reps. But they need guys with burst to work the wide zone stuff that works like the Niners, Dolphins etc. are killing teams with. Basically have to be fast enough to beat the pursuit angles from front 7. Despite his outstanding season I don't see his film being particularly attractive to NFL. He's hardly busted runs over 20 yards. His big thing is consistency and grinding out yards. The blocking is huge but I'm not sure they'll care if he's not going to be a ball carrier. They often convert DL types over to be blocking backs, like small OL basically.
  6. There's a 55 percent chance either team will be poisoned by the food and water sources in Hamilton during Grey Cup week.
  7. As much as I respect his game, Oliviera is getting chased down by CFL DL. I can't see him being much value in the NFL unless he wants to be a blocking back who they sneak the odd draw to. They don't even really use the power backs on short-yardage anymore. The field is 12 yards narrower so the gaps are that much tighter. You need speed, the patient style wouldn't necessarily translate and he won't be powering through NFL MAC's and WIL's.
  8. Tough to watch 4 games a week.
  9. Easy to pass the concussion tests when your baseline answers are "HUH!?"
  10. Then he went to East Mississippi CC which was on Last Chance U. He was a year too early to be on that show. From there recruited to Ole Miss by Hugh Freeze, guy who bought whores on his work phone, had all his wins vacated for violations and then somehow got hired by fundamentalist Christian school Liberty....now back in SEC at Auburn. He's had some great role models to mold that blockhead of his.
  11. Can see Ottawa or Montreal going down this path, maybe a couple of the West teams if they strike out on Dru Brown.
  12. The voting he's talking about is the team awards which put guys up for the league nominations. It's the FRP which are reporters in the cities, doesn't include the radio guys I guess.
  13. Stats don't even explain it. Kelly's weren't exceptional next to QB performances over the years. Betts sacks I guess, but he was a non-factor in 3 of 4 games vs the other contender in the division. They also got whooped by Toronto and he was pretty quiet. Are the league awards a celebration of outstanding play or dominating Edmonton and Ottawa?
  14. Kelly had the best pass protection in the league by a long shot, a good to great running game, and the best field position in the league. Good season for a young-ish QB, not outstanding at all. Oliviera is a do everything back who had an all-time season on the best team in the league. Got it done with both QB's, against every opponent in the league. Going to look extra stupid after Kelly's playoff woes.
  15. Demski was talking like he wasn't sure he'd play in the media stuff.
  16. I agree with this. Our D flied around a bit more without him. Feel like he's a guy out there everyone kind of waits on to make a play, play a bit more free without him.
  17. Honestly wouldn't even concern myself with it. Great, convert one second and long.
  18. Heartily disagree with this. Lost 2018 WF in a game where the D was dominant and if offense could put together one drive we would have been in that Grey Cup. 2016 big first half, couldn't put together a couple drives in 2nd half to ice it. 2017, got hammered by Edmonton, put up some nice stats after beatdown.
  19. The suggestion that the Bombers can't do anything until the extensions are done is ludicrous. The management staff are Bombers employees until their deals are up. They are still working.
  20. I don't think Oakman will get much from Argos. Not sure there will be much of a market either. He's been more disappointing than anything. Wouldn't be surprised if he's an XFL player. McManis is one of the best players in the league.
  21. They were teammates in 2022. Shaq Richardson was the guy on the Argos in that altercation.
  22. A few rumours now that Dinwiddie might get a call from Boise State depending on who they hire since they just canned their head coach. With Boise going to some agglomeration of the PAC-12 and Mountain West soon he'd probably get paid more there to be OC or QB coach than he would to be a head coach in CFL. Don't think he'd be a candidate to be the head coach.
  23. Clements looks a lot more comfortable in the middle than he did at WIL. I'd say if your LB crew was Wilson, Cole, Clements in those two spots you'd be in pretty good shape. Yeah they planned for Parker to smack the ball right to McInnis.😂
  24. The big thing is with the way D's are collapsing on Oliviera, Zach has to call back to his Cincinnati and early pro days with some zone reads, pull the ball out and take the free first down, obviously don't be overly risky on taking hits. You send everyone vertical and run a Zone Read to Brady...easy yards. Then you have those boot passes they always run, those are a little more dangerous vs Montreal with the zone blitz stuff. To me this is a game where it's really run and vertical passing for the offense, depending on conditions, you saw in the WF that neither team could really consistently pass because of how difficult it was to grip the ball in that damp cold right around the freezing mark. If you need to grind out points that's fine because Montreal's O has no chance of getting them a big lead, but their D can.
