  1. Looks like rumours of Labatte and Picard being injured were greatly exaggerated.
  2. and won more games then Elliot did. Willy accomplished that feat in Week 3.
  3. "Drew has the attitude and determination you look for at the quarterback position. He is physically and mentally tough, and can endure the challenges a quarterback faces, day in and day out... He is a quarterback with great promise in our league," said McManus, back on the February morning when Willy’s signing was announced. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/Welcome-to-Willypeg-269488871.html Thank you Danny Mac, for coming home, and leading us out of the QB wilderness. I know Willy is probably the most important upgrade over last season player-wise, and O'Shea the biggest coaching upgrade, but on the management/player scouting side, it has to be Danny Mac.
  4. Should never have went to that party at Mike Duffy's house.... yeah you have a few drinks and then find out 20 years later you have a daughter in Peru.
  5. Bombers released him last week. I see that now on CFL transactions. I guess five QB's was a lot to carry. Hope he catches on with Montreal.
  6. How was I eliminated? I took Will Ford and he had two TD's last week. When the inevitable mistake is corrected, I will take Grigsby please.
  7. except their sister-wives, their banjos, their out-houses and their moon-shine stills. We have to leave them their bare necessities.
  8. so did the Bombers release Mason Mills? I never heard that. Or did Montreal pluck him off our P/R?
  9. Brohm is the holder for LH. Wouldn't want to mess with that chemistry.
  10. Back in the day we had Paul Bennett returning punts. He was extremely slow but he did one thing well, and in terms of punt and kick-off returns its the only thing that matters - he never fumbled. As long as Woods holds onto the ball, I really don't give a crap about anything else. If he gets us 10 - 15 yards on the returns here and there, that's just a bonus. Holding on to the ball is all that matters.
  11. I don't take delight either but fans in other cities were sure laughing at us. Like Hamilton. Then the comments that their stadium is nicer than ours?? As it turned out, we didn't have a tenth of the issues Hamilton has had getting the thing built. We just had to wait another year & played at our old barn. While disappointing, it was a good fall back plan. Too bad Garth Buchko had us play the first 4 games of the year on the road & just didn't move everything back into Canad Inns from the start of the season. Going 0-4 on the road killed our season. I think Buchko was the only person who couldn't tell the stadium was a year behind schedule & would never be ready that season. Really? Nicer than Wpgs? Not from the mockup's I've seen Ottawa would have been close if they did both sides (they didn't) so they aren't,and Tim Hortons field looks just like a big high school stadium to me. Wpg's is a thing of beauty - I may be biased but I personally think it's the best stadium in the CFL. I can't wait to see a game there. Having been in both stadiums I have to say that BC Place is nicer than Winnipeg's stadium, but the difference is you get 30,000 screaming people in IGF and it's freaking loud, while in BC Place it still feels like a morgue.
  12. JFG - gets the job done. One of the best surprises of the 2014 season so far.
  13. Don't worry about it, the only play he focused on was the only good play Hamilton ran in the whole first half.
  14. I didn't want Burris here but I hope he looks at what Winnipeg is doing and pouts every night. Same with Collaros, him especially I think figured he was hopping into a great situation and to have it blow up in his face is just great karma. I think Hank is just counting his money right now and his good fortune that he found someone dumb enough to pay him $400K a season at his age.
  15. I was never one who bought in before on the whole needing more coaches thing, but I sure do now. The big one for me is that we actually have a QB coach. And as Suitor said last night, Buck is also helping to mentor Drew Willy, which is great, because Buck is a great character guy as well as a true professional and someone I'd definitely want mentoring my young guns. The QB's should be getting a lot more help this year than in almost any other year, and that's got to be helping the team big time.
  16. Calgary was 8-10 in 2001 and um, well they made it to the Grey Cup game. I don't remember who their opponent was.
  17. yup four more wins and the cross-over at least should be in the bag. I think realistically with five wins already in the bag that 10 wins total this year is achievable, provided Drew Willy stays upright.
  18. Good point. This is how I felt about JFG after that catch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSr-VWc_7WQ
  19. This is why I think we may lose tonight.
  20. As long as Woods is still returning kicks and punts and it's not another Keystone Kops routine with Cotton and Washington fumbling all over the place.
