  1. Not being in Winnipeg I get my gossip from people I know in the Peg. Several have come back to me with the same story. If they were doing a sitcom with the Jets as the focus, it would be called "Everyone hates Jacob". Apparently many Jets want to see him gone, and weren't happy that he wasn't moved last year. Take that FWIW. As I said, I won't be sad to see Trouba, Ehlers and Kuli gone for next year. I like Perreault, but I don't see him surviving the cap crunch.
  2. I think the same can be said for Jon Snow - "have fun on the ground, I'm going to fly around doing nothing for most of the battle". The very least he could have fried some dead guys.
  3. until the Democrats pick a leader, are polling numbers worth anything? Right now you are asking if you would vote for Trump, or ???. If you are not in the "I will vote for anyone but Trump" camp, then how do you even answer the question right now?

  5. OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says today's federal Liberal party wouldn't accept political donations like those that got SNC-Lavalin in trouble in the late 2000s. Trudeau says the party has improved its standards and, in his words, "that is not what happens any more." The Quebec-based engineering firm reached a "compliance agreement" with Canada's elections commissioner in 2016, admitting that executives who'd left the company by then had convinced employees to give money to both the Liberal and Conservative parties. The agreement was public at the time but a CBC report today reveals the names of the SNC-Lavalin employees the elections commissioner believed were involved. Reimbursing the donors with company bonuses was a way around an election law that forbids corporations to make political donations. The Liberals got nearly $118,000 under the scheme, compared with the Tories' $8,000. SNC-Lavalin CEO Neil Bruce said in 2016 that the agreement with the elections commissioner was evidence that the company had turned over a new leaf. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/liberals-wouldnt-take-hidden-snc-lavalin-money-now-trudeau-says/ar-AAAKd4Q?ocid=spartanntp
  6. and within minutes, CNN (LOL) predictably weighs in with their own slanted rebuttal... https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/newspolitics/the-idea-that-donald-trump-will-win-easily-in-2020-is-ridiculous/ar-AAAK6ZE?ocid=spartanntp
  7. yup, it is.

  9. we need a billionaire buying the Lions as well. That franchise needs a lot of help.
  10. Yes, Montreal needs to host a Grey Cup. Great party city. Is the Big O really that dilapidated that they can't use it anymore?
  11. no I agree with you, he's an idiot, but not a white nationalist.
  12. yeah I know, it was tongue in cheek.
  13. It's so bad, that our own PM can't tell a Japanese leader from a Chinese leader. Yikes, talk about embarrassing! Just wait until the Malaysian leader calls Justin the PM of Great Britain.
  14. let me know if they do...I've lost all interest in the NHL playoffs this year. It's been a long time since I've said that. What a difference a year makes.
  15. Roger Goodell for PM!
  16. after watching how the Liberals tried to make up their own laws with SNC Lavalin, I have a hard time disagreeing with you.
  17. in 1992 I did a human resources project for my university class and my group chose the Calgary Flames, because they were all Flames fans (not me, but as a hockey fan, I went along with it). I was assigned two players to interview, Mike Vernon and Craig Berube. Berube at that time was Calgary's goon. He was very polite to interview. When I asked him what his post-hockey plans were, he said that he wanted to take over his dad's butcher shop in Calahoo, Alberta. Now when I see him behind the bench for St. Louis, beating our Jets, I wish that he had stuck to that plan.
  18. watch the movie "The Big Short". It's really informative. Gives a unique insight into the entire mess.
  19. do you fully understand the consequences of this strategy? That millions of people would have lost everything?
  20. When people tell me that they were angry (I was angry at the ratings agencies who didn't do their jobs) about the bail-outs, I ask a simple question - what would you have done? Let those giant banks fail? That would have turned a deep recession into a full-blown depression, as millions of people would have lost not only their homes, but all of their life savings too. There would have been mass poverty of 1930's era suffering. I don't hate the bail-outs, I hate the fact that it was allowed to get to that level. And it's happening again. I am watching Tesla really closely right now after their last quarter results. If the ratings agencies don't downgrade their debt on Monday, then the con is on again. And it's going to be much worse this time when things finally blow sky-high. Interest rates are going to go to the moon.
