I'm aware that people base their decisions on their confirmation biases. And that's why certain people believe in a gender wage gap that doesn't exist. Chalk full? There was a talk about some dentists, and an old lawsuit against Walmart. And I've provided columns and examples too, which due to confirmation biases, have just been ignored by those that want to keep the victimhood complex alive and well.

No, free will for women to have choices they make because that's what they want. I honestly don't even know hat "enjoy the perks of manhood at the expense of women" even means, and I don't think you do either, but it makes your tummy feel warm typing it, so that's all that matters. You didn't answer my question though - are you in favor of men working less? Is that your solution?

Change can be a good thing, if it's actually something that needs to be done. What needs to change? If women of their own free will choose occupations that pay less, or accept lower pay in exchange for fewer hours, and some "study" then determines that on the whole, women make less money (but this is their personal decision) what do you suppose should change? Men should be forced to work less? Why? Why can't people just have free will?

but here's a question - if you guys all agree that gender wage discrimination isn't a thing, why is "the gender pay gap" a thing that anyone has to be worried about? Why is it that female dentists make less than male dentists? If it's not wage discrimination, but simply a choice by female dentists to work less hours, why do you care? This is their choice in a free economy. Is the solution to force male dentists to work less, so that everyone makes less money, but at least they are equal? This is just absurd. I started this thread thinking that maybe this whole gender pay gap thing was a completely invented victimhood thing, and I am now convinced that it is exactly that, and nothing more. No one here has done anything, painstakingly or not, to show that this is an actual issue. It is an invented "thing", and now unworkable "solutions" are the only answer. Invent a problem, then go around creating a victim complex. It's a tried and true formula that seems to work, if your goal is mislead in the name of trying to get votes.

And I still don't get how this is evidence of a "gender pay gap". There are obviously other factors in play here. As I said I have never personally seen female dentists be paid less than male dentists, so this "independent reliable third party" you state is not telling the entire story.

Thanks for posting that. I am curious though to understand how this demonstrates a "pay gap" - Dentists usually incorporate and then put up their shingle. Are you suggesting that customers that come in to have their teeth pulled/cleaned/worked on are deliberately paying female dentists less than male dentists? Or are male dentists just charging more for the same work? In the first example, that would be blatant sexism. And I don't understand why a female dentist would put up with it. In the second example that's something that could be fixed by female dentists doing more research into what the market will bear and start charging more. I've had both female and male dentists over the past 25 years. They were all good. And I know my benefit plans didn't ask me to tick a box "Is your dentist male or female"? They didn't care. I paid the same amount no matter what my dentists' genitalia was. My point, this is useful data, that bears pondering, but I don't buy that female dentists are being deliberately discriminated against. It could be as simple as them not wanting to take on as many patients.

It's not that hard to understand. Those complaining about the term "Orwellian" don't really understand what the term means. The blatant ignorance displayed in that Tweet is pretty jaw-dropping. She is advocating for the government to determine and enforce "acceptable" speech. That's "Orwellian". Even some of those jumping on me in the past two days have to have some shred of appreciation for free speech. Yet this person doesn't get it. At all. And that's the problem. When you just believe everything you are fed and told how to think, you immediately dismiss all information that doesn't conform to your bias.
