I only went back that far to show that O’shea’s .500 record is not solely on him.
-
That’s true of American positions. You need your base of Canadian players and new draft picks, as well as a competent QB. After Taman and Mack, we had none of those, and I was quite frankly surprised we were able to hire someone as competent as O’shea for HC. Imagine the team during the Mack era losing a high caliber starting Canadian OG - it would have been an absolute disaster.
-
Hardrick is playing hurt - what else is wrong with the OL? Or do you mean more Canadians starting? Secondary looks to be on the way up - just Rose trying to do too much in the 4th Q today.
-
Ok, so now you believe the cupboards were bare after all. I believe the team has a respectable record after his first two years. And you certainly don’t have to agree with me.
-
Who’s pretending? Good coaches and talented players no longer wanted to come to Winnipeg. To say that wasn’t true is just being willfully ignorant. What were you planning to fill cupboard with?
-
When it comes to Blue Bomber history, he who cannot draw on the last 11 years is living from hand to mouth. Look at where this team was at after 2008 & 2009 - the cupboard was bare. Other than a 2011 GC berth, we had absolutely pathetic seasons after that. O’Shea brought success and competence to this team. To include the first two seasons just to make the point that he is .500, given the mess he inherited, is misleading. Other changes need to be made, but the coach who turned this team and organization into something respectable needs to stay. Meanwhile, we can keep lamenting our 9 - 6 team. In other news, the Grey Champion lost to the predicted tire fire.

When the D plays like they did tonight, Nichols wins, period. The team has lost 3 games in a row, which is bad enough, but in two of those games they beat themselves. Montreal a failure by the D, Sask a failure by the O. And whoever is complaining about the D tonight needs to just go to bed.
-
How does anyone knock the D today?
-
That’s a lead.

You just might have duck & chuck Reilly coming to town...

Byfuglien contemplating NHL future

The pressure of having to make up for a weak D will burn out the goal-tending. After that, it won't matter how much the forwards score, they'll miss the playoffs. -

Well, if we thought Trouba was lacking hockey sense... -
Game recap 5:05 - Whitehead open with blocking setting up. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/09/27/recap-hamilton-33-winnipeg-13/

In most games, I would be of the same school of thought. But in this one, there were passes being completed very effectively in the intermediate range - throughout the game, not just in garbage time. The receivers were open and the throws were crisp and on target (eg. 5 by Lawler in that range: 17 to 24 yards). As bad as this game was, that was one of the positive aspects.
-
So you think there was no chance to score a TD in that situation - easy to say after the fact. Over 12 minutes left when Bighill was tackled at the Hamilton 30.
-
Yep. And when that play was over, then they were in the hole.
-
Too much spin. That second pick was after Bighill's interception put the O close to the red zone. They would were only trailing by two TDs. Cash that in and they would have been within 6 or 7 points - don't remember if the deficit was 13 or 14 points.
-
Assuming the article is 100% accurate, he just knows what his strengths are and is not afraid to say it. I mean, he's a jerk, but he is a good QB and any of us would want him on our team. The Vikings' management is who I don't get - but we have heard stranger things than that from the NFL. Ricky Ray in his prime, same story, except he actually stayed and held a clipboard for a while.
-
He would obviously shatter whatever confidence those QB(s) had left.
-
Just another diehard WBB fan.
-
Good talent, protection and coaching working in his favour.
-
They were getting good pressure and still gave up 42 points?
-
Let’s see...they played the Bombers twice and they played two teams that have beaten the Bombers.
-
And one of our primary reasons for Confederation was fear of an invasion by the Americans, after the Civil War.

All that being said, if Meddy makes that kick in Montreal, they probably win the game. And then, many of these conversations here don't happen, and starting Alexander at Safety might not have happened (we have a 10 - 4 record with this safety, yadda, yadda, yadda). Maybe all is well that ends well - TBD
