The no movement clause is never going away, but it does need to be modified in some way or another - my suggestion would be something to the effect of a compensatory system in the draft. For every X times you are on a no-trade list, you get compensation in the form of picks after the second round concludes. This accomplishes two things - it holds teams accountable when they hand them out, the more you hand out, the more you run the risk of devaluing your own draft haul after the first two rounds and it also provides relief for teams like Winnipeg, Buffalo, Seattle, etc. You're never getting the players to actually give up the no-movement clause. Everyone can sit there on the outside and say "they're very well compensated, they should just suck it up and play where they're told" but the reality is that the NHL is a lot more family oriented than a league like the NBA and these players clearly value the ability to control where they play. They're not giving it up and I don't really blame them, to be honest.

The pace and rhythm of the O just looks different (in a good way) with Dru in there. Pokey had some head scratchers but he looked legitimate. I meant the staff, as in there's a comfort of knowing the expectations, etc. Where he's at with the playbook? I mean, I'd argue he's gotta be further ahead than Elgersma given his years as a pro working with the exact same staff. I don't know why we'd be acting like Elgersma being here for a month or two as a raw rookie gives him a leg up over a guy who has played for years in this league and spent the last two with the exact same coordinator he's working with now.

Genuinely no idea why you'd even trade for Dru if you're not going to start him in a situation like this (if Collaros can't go) He knows the team, he knows the offense, he's a proven starter in this league and you're going to opt for the guy who has ... zero pro starts to his name? His play wasn't a problem but his deployment was. If our backup QB is a guy who needs the playbook cut down by 66% just to function, we need to have a better option. That's not an Elgersma problem, that's a team problem.

I don't know what to make of that game ... just a mess all around and I'm going to try to not read too much into it. The positives: Elgersma did what Ford could not - can't blow the game there. Sergio gave himself the Adarius Bowman treatment and returned to being capable The not so positives: The pass pro was UGLY early on ... the injuries to Zach AND Bo Levi (wouldn't be surprised if that's a wrap on Bo's career sadly) ... our linebackers are STILL barely above invisible ... Kramdi at safety needs to be an experiment that ends, I don't care how much of a "field general" he is back there, his PLAY is awful

They run 3 Canadian receivers ... their Canadians are Philpot, Brissett and Barnes. I also don't know what you're trying to get at when you say "every receiver is used", they had 2 guys with more than 3 targets yesterday and they put up a 50 burger. Also, Tevaughn Campbell is not only not a WR, but he plays for Saskatchewan ... not Calgary.

We do have enough talent laying around to out-talent some teams on any given week but I think it’s safe to say O’Shea is far and away the worst head coach in the league that isn’t named Dinwiddie at this point Roster management, allowing his DC to run wild with inefficiency, stubborn as a mule, team never showing up prepared, the list can go on and on His time here has come and gone

Yeah, absolutely agree. In case it wasn't clear to anyone, I wasn't suggesting we can them. I was just saying that IF we were to do it, I'd see no reason for it not to be both. That call is far away from being made at this point in the season though.

I'd toss them both out just for the stand alone reason of this bullshit with the refusal to use an American as a Canadian even though we're allowed to. It's borderline negligent and I know that's not going to sit well with some people but there's a reason we are the only one of nine teams that doesn't use it.
