As much as I'd like to see us sign a proven commodity at middle linebacker, I often try to remind myself that we as a fanbase frequently complain that we don't find enough of our own recruited talent. If you ask me, I like the prospect of us going into this year without a "proven" name there more than I did last year, as at least we actually have a guy who got on the field and did very well for himself, albeit at a different spot. Jovan Santos-Knox in the middle to start the year wouldn't worry me in the least ... he's a hyper-athletic linebacker with the ability to go sideline to sideline and while he might not be a smashmouth football player in the mold of an Elimimian or a Larry Dean, he's going to make plays. I want him on the field either way, whether he goes WIL if we sign Henoc or if he plays the middle flanked by Wild and Leggett/Fenner. If he gets beat out by Jevaris Jones or Kyrie Wilson then hey, even better. I just feel better about that whole situation knowing it's not going to be based on the hopes that a player (Kyle Knox) that hadn't been on the field before can make an immediate impact. If I had my way, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a front seven of Roh/Nevis/Poop/Jeffcoat/JSK/Henoc/Leggett, but if it goes TO/Nevis/Poop/Jeffcoat/Wild/JSK/Leggett, then I'm not worried either. I just prefer the flexibility of having Henoc on D, as it would enable us to use Flanders on offense. As it shapes up right now though, our lineup looks pretty damn good. Excited to see how we tinker with it and to see who we add from camps and the draft. I don't see a lot of obvious holes, which means guys cracking our lineup will be beating out proven commodities, not just filling roles as the best of the worst like Carmichael did last year.

This seems like a move to cut TO loose in favour of Muamba but what do I know ... Roh is pretty good ... not sure of the fit otherwise, as I don’t see us DIing a rush end.
-
To me, the outgoing player would have to be Ian Wild.
-
Sounds like Henoc still has his awful agent working for him. I wonder why he hasn’t caught on that signing for the most money he possibly can and milking every dollar out of a club is what makes him the first guy cut every offseason.

Bingo. There’s been some speculation that a few of the major Koolaiders there are actually involved with the club in some capacity. No idea if it’s true or not, but over the past few years, I just know I’ve watched Stronson go from respectable to insufferable. That place is just ... different. Most team forums you go to, there’s a small contingent of folks who are deep into the fanboyism but they’re usually drowned out by the majority who operate in realism. That place is the exact opposite. Everything Riders is good. Everything else is bad. No ability to be objective whatsoever. Feel bad for the few good ones over there ...

Good for him but if that’s the contract I’m thrilled we didn’t pay it
-
We already had that competition. He lost.
-
If Bond is playing guard, it’s an upgrade. If he’s playing tackle, it’s a net result of zero after cutting Dennis. hurl to the Riders. wooo
-
I believe they’re updating it as guys get signed. Fenner was number 1 at one point.
-
His assurances that he won’t throw an individual under the bus is probably a big reason guys love playing here, so I’ll take it. hurl is gone. Works for me.

Meh, look at the average age for elite rush ends ... Westerman’s age wouldn’t be a big issue in my opinion.
-
I’m so confused as to floyd’s take on Fenner, to be honest. You think 2016 Fenner would be better? Based on what? He played spare parts of 8 games. He established himself as a player in 2017.
-
Textbook Floydery
-
Fenner is awesome ... nice pick Joey
-
Good deal for Lafrance
-
Time to shore up the D. At this point, gimme Mrabure (or Westerman obviously) and a MLB ... maybe Mitch White
-
130k for Demski, not 160k ... still don’t love it. But we’re gambling on the potential.
-
If he does, I would question why. Great player but what’s the fit?
-
I have to say I’m honestly surprised at the “keep Heath” camp ... I thought he was pretty bad last year. Lots of interceptions, but I’d love to see how many explosion plays he gave up because it seemed like he got torched regularly. Could be wrong though.
-
Wondering if maybe we say goodbye to Westerman in lieu of the cheaper, younger Mrabure.
-
I see you’re in your mood where you get mad at this today, as opposed to your mood where you do it.
-
JSK hardly got an opportunity in camp last year in the middle.
-
You’re right we should never allow players to try and grow into their own here. All star award in your first game or buh bye
-
I’m expecting we’ll add Demski, one of Woods/Dean/Reed and one of Daniels/Bowman/maybe Criner I guess ... Hoping somehow that equates to us also being able to sign Westerman or Thomas, but who knows ... I doubt it.

In the CFL, they really should care about the players. You don’t give the players a place worth working, the quality of this game suffers. Major leagues don’t have to attract players. The CFL does. And having your commissioner tell players “if you don’t like the money go get another job” is not a big selling point.
