And even now, seeing what he's done, I still couldn't justify paying $300K to a non-quarterback. The bigger issue is how we struck out on every other receiver we brought into camp and mortgaged the future on a (great) receiver coming back off injury and the hope that Ontaria Wilson wouldn't make it to / through camp. You can't bleed talent and expect to compete well. Truthfully, it doesn't matter who we have behind centre right now. There are so many issues on this team (from coaching, to receivers to offensive line) that nobody has a real chance to be successful.

Nobody they could sign in the offseason would be as talented as Lawler. All they did was save money. I resemble that remark.

And I’d suggest that it’s unfair to judge the receivers when the offensive scheme itself is terrible and does them no favours whatsoever. Not saying we are overly talented there but when your OC is in over his head, it’s hard to be successful.

Outside of Bryant, who is showing his age, there’s nobody on this offensive line worth a damn. Wallace has tools but he’s still really raw.

Dude … if there was ever a time .. do it. Can’t go anywhere when Calgary is in the backfield before you even take your first step. Strev gets a little too high there but he wasn’t going anywhere. Too much penetration.

Not stopping your opponent in the second half probably had something to do with this loss.

It’s the entirety of his offense. Quick lateral passes where you’re hoping receivers make someone miss and can stay ahead of the chains. Unfortunately, there’s nothing and no one in this offense that forces a D to play off .. teams don’t respect what we do because any talent we have is burried behind an abysmal offensive line, lacklustre receivers and play calling that does NOTHING to make things better.

This is a bad challenge. Won’t be overturned.

So many plays where receivers are running routes at the same depth / level. This offense just doesn’t create space for players.

That was a soft penalty but he DID make contact early.

There was no surge. Calgary beat WPG off the ball .. had no chance.
